  1. If you want to see all of the Pac-12's final season games this year, I would suggest Fubo. Once Oregon migrates to the B1G, I would suggest switching to YouTube TV. Among other things, YouTube TV allows unlimited Cloud DVR storage (although all recordings are erased 9 months later but automatically re-recorded if they are replayed at a later date), access to the B1G Network and any other channel B1G teams would play on for no extra cost, and a feature that allows you to have highlights play automatically after a recorded game has been finished.
  2. As I really don't like USC (no personal offense intended, Fred Flintstone), I tend to gravitate toward any media pundit who downplays their potential. But at this point, I file Paul Finebaum's opinions in the "not worth listening to" category. But hey, given how much he talks, he's entitled to his two broken clock accurate calls per day.
  3. I thought his comments were pretty classy. I expected trash talk coming from someone being coached by Deion Sanders. I personally didn't mind the "we comin" part. I think he pretty much had to assert some confidence going forward in his position. And, "we waitin"!
  4. Up until now, it always angered me. We typically had to play a perfect season to climb past the teams that were gifted with, say top five rankings at the beginning of the season. Now, with a 12 team playoff coming, I think I kind of like it. As others have said here, hopefully it will motivate the team and raise more eyebrows.
  5. Jon, for what it's worth, I think those are wise words. I don't like them, but they are wise. I've spent quite a few number of years learning that personal preference and reality are two different things..... and that life is more workable when we let go of preferences and find the best ways we can to deal with reality.
  6. I would imagine it will closely resemble a reality show with the Kardashians. I have never watched a reality show with the Kardashians, but I've seen enough promos to know that it's an egotistical train wreck. Sounds a lot like Deion Sanders to me.
  7. I have nothing but respect for Utah football. I will miss playing them, but I will also be relieved that we don't have to play them.
  8. I've never trusted guys named Jeff who spelled their names Geoff.
  9. Another reason that it's a shame this is the Pac-12's last season. When was the last time we had so many top 25 teams? Oregon, Utah, Oregon state, Washington, USC, UCLA. And then Washington state with the perennial potential to spoil any Pac-12 team season. Then again, the carnage these teams will wreak against each other this year will likely end up with the same result it's had every other year. Anyone right of the West Coast will say the Pac-12 is weak. It's so-called best teams can't even handle Beavers, or Cougars, or Bruins. As others have said, maybe Oregon joining the B1G is the only way they'll get the national respect they deserve.
  10. I honestly think Nix doesn't need more polish. If he gets more, that would be great. He definitely needs to have a healthy right ankle so he can firmly plant that right foot and get his completion percentage back to that 70% plus mark and throw those accurate long bombs , and solid o-line protection. I'm worried about the backup quarterback situation and quarterbacks moving forward. Ty Thompson obviously hasn't looked good, but then he's only had one year where he hasn't played under Mario's no development coaching staff. It looks like we have some incredible talent coming in, but obviously no one with a level of experience that can create a Field General like Bo out of the gates. Then again, this is all business as usual in college football. The great experienced players graduate, we get new players in, and we wait to see what happens.
  11. Yikes, nothing more inspiring than a rural White rap song about chainsaws. I made it to 44 seconds. I am not proud of that.
  12. JDuck, I would really like to live in your universe!
  13. Augduck, I agree. I recall Lanning saying at the time that this wouldn't necessarily be a permanent thing. If future teams can maintain discipline and listen to coaches' instructions, the 'Shout-dancing' would be allowed to resume. I hope it gets to that point---it is very fun to watch, and it fires the crowd up.
  14. That $270mil is for the term of the deal. Payout is only $4-$6 million annually per school. Ouch.
  15. Sorry, I thought I was posting this in an earlier thread re: the fate of the remaining 4 PAC teams.
  16. I looked up some numbers re: how bad OSU and WSU joining the Mountain West might be. Currently, the PAC-12 has a 250 million dollar media deal; OSU and WSU both get a bit under $21 million for that. Currently, the Mountain West actually has a better media deal: $270 million for 12 teams (not sure if media revenue is shared equally in that conference). If they took OSU and WSU and allowed equal shares, that would give OSU and WSU over $19.25 million per year. Not much of a step down. OSU reportedly took in a total of about $35 million in athletic department funding last year, so they have the capability to pull in quite a bit of extra money beyond media deals if boosters and athletic apparel sales keep up. So, maybe it won't be nearly as catastrophic for them as most of us thought--maybe they will be able to continue to have a very good coaching staff and hold on to/continue to recruit good players. But then, how hard will it be to attract very good players in a non Power 5 conference?
  17. Yes, much faster. It was worth the wait to read articles and comments on this site even when it was slow, but it's a joy to have it load this quickly.
  18. A lot of mind boggling, baseless conspiracy theories in there. But the statement that cracked me up the most was regarding Phil Knight/ Nike's support of Oregon: "Market a nothing product with no real advantage to the ignorant masses" Has this guy seen the Nike swooshes on the front of USC's jerseys and athletic apparel licensed by USC??
  19. Blue Bloods have poor circulation. That negatively affects your thinking. A program like Oregon with a roughly 20 year old history of building success has a lot of red blood. That leads to vitality and clear thinking.
  20. Wow, Michigan strikes me as pretty uppity when they state the reason they don't have a mascot is because it's "undignified." Maybe they should consult someone who is attends a more academically rigorous school: Stanford's Tree.
  21. Okay, this really feels like Gallows humor since I feel really bad for Oregon State and Washington State. But, in a discussion thread regarding what to call a merged Pac 4 and Mountain West Conference on a UCLA fan forum, somebody suggested the name Broke Pac Mountain.
  22. From the Duckswire article posted above: "Now, the Ducks will be playing against the best teams in the nation on NBC, CBS, and FOX once they officially make the move next year." No, we will be playing against one of the best teams in the country, namely Ohio State. Our track record against the other Big Ten teams we played for the last 10-15 years is pretty good. It's not like we're going to the SEC, where we'd have to play Georgia, Alabama, and LSU every year. Relatively speaking, most of the blue blood programs in the Big Ten have been bleeding out for the last decade or two. Time for a bunch of red-blooded Ducks to come in and show them what new blood can do. How is it that even a Duckswire reporter has drank the Midwest kool-aid?
  23. Well, I guess they have the right to suck in whatever conference they want to.
