  1. I would be very surprised to see him return to Oregon. Not saying I have ANY insights but I would be surprised. Dan seems to have a certain profile he looks for in assistants and while I certainly don't know his full criteria, it just strikes me that Frost would not be a fit. Frost always viewed himself as the smartest man in the room and I can't help but think that would not fly with Dan.
  2. Frost was not well liked within the confines of the HDC so there’s that.
  3. Transferred from Ga . DL knew him from his days there. There’s a reason DL did not even consider him when he entered the portal. He was considered a liability and a ‘me’ guy.
  4. Maybe was a guest of Tuioti. Tuioti coached for him and Casey Rogers played under him.
  5. Steve Stephens is certainly mature and admirable that he has goals for life after football. He will have his Masters degree at the end of fall term. Very good ambassador for the program. If I understood correctly he said Lanning would welcome him on the staff as a coach. Nice.
  6. Was talking with a Coug friend of mine and he told me there are some rumblings of issues surrounding the team at the moment. Many in the fan base think Dickert is seriously interviewing for the MSU job. They are pretty certain he will jump at the end of the season. Certainly the current issues with WSU (and OS) are they key factors in that decision making process I am sure. Not saying this game won't be a challenge because it will but something to consider.
  7. Regarding question #1- I don't see any correlation. Agree that its wins and losses and direction of the program.
  8. Can't argue much with this. Now just keep it rolling and good things will happen.🤞
  9. Hope you are correct and if so will you provide stock tips?😉
  10. And (hopefully) the Ducks will be very motivated by their loss. Nothing is a given in the P12 this year and I think we knew that going in.
  11. Just a little insight on Jon Wilner. He was the beat writer at the San Jose Mercury News for Stanford. Harbaugh loathed him when he was the HC there. He wanted Stanford to strip his press credentials but they could not. He literally used to follow Harbaugh around the facility in hopes of getting a ‘scoop’. During his time at Stanford which coincided with Chip’s time at Oregon, Wilner loathed Chip. Don’t know specifics but just know he did not like him at all. Harbaugh leaves and goes to the Niners and guess who becomes one of the 49er beat guys? Yep, good ole Jon. Harbaugh obviously had greater leverage with the 49ers than at Stanford so they gave him limited media access. Jon was known among the press corp as Jim’s lap dog. He then went back to college football but he was not well liked among the sports press in the Bay Area.
  12. Chip coached at a time when the P12 was far less competitive. Just adding for context.
  13. Disappointing to see this.
  14. JRW- I will respectfully disagree. I want passion. I don't want Helfrich.
  15. Totally agree Massduck and appreciate the maturity on this board. Scanning a few boards and there are many calling for Lanning's firing. Are there some things Dan would do differently? I am sure, and this will grind at him till they take the field next week. It always amazes me how many folks get irrational over things. Glad for the decency on this board.
  16. Great post. Rational and reasonable.
  17. I no longer watch Gameday. It’s become old, stale, tired and predictable. The Corso headgear thing has become trite. I get the students like it but it’s time to refresh that show. Reece Davis and Desmond Howard hate the Ducks and if Oregon were playing the Lane County School of Cosmetology they would pick the Fighting Cosmetologists.
  18. I've learned to read very little of what emanates from the north. And their social media posts are drenched in so much hyperbole and vitriol that I just learned to waste no energy reading them.
  19. Very thankful Mario is not here. His game plan for this one would be nothing more than runs plays up the middle and on a rare occasion a run left or right and impose our physicality at the LOS.😉
  20. Hope he plays. I was thinking they help him out at Stanford so to ensure he is fully good to go.
  21. Love reading all the optimistic stuff here. I wish I could say it is quelling my nerves.😨
  22. The old axiom applies here: 'They are not jealous of what you have. They are jealous of what they can't have'.
