Saw him running around on the sidelines!
Good to know Mario’s babysitter was doing his job.

Colorado can score very quickly. If their defense can force a couple of stops the Buffs can still pull this out. I’ve seen bigger deficits erased in the Alamo Bowl.
A wave of nausea just set in. I had permanently deleted that from my memory

Not watching but please tell me Feld is running around acting like his usual idiotic self. I'll feel even better about Mario and his band of go of balls being gone.

I just think his confidence is shot. He makes a mistake and he spirals.
3 different coaches and two teams without any of them believing in you will do this
But what reasons did he give those coaches to believe in him???
He never looked comfortable and sure maybe some of that is coaching but it just seems the kid was way overrated.
I honestly wonder how much he even likes playing football.

Just an FYI- can't read it unless you subscribe

Never underestimate Marshall Malchow. He is 1000% legit.

From Eleven Warriors
Did anyone ask Lanning if there were any other rules/penalties he was going to try and exploit?
I'm sure he is thinking very hard. Dan is a bit of a mad scientist, but in a different way than Chip was.

I know the opinions on James are mixed and certainly mine are at times.
One thing I will say is that for all his long winded questions at pressers and post game interviews, he is pretty astute. His insights are typically well researched and his reasoning tends to be sound. Is he always right??? No, but are any of us????
He came out with his Rose Bowl analysis this AM and I am sure there will be plenty more, but this one is his Sneak Peek column and he picks the Ducks to win 31-28.
Just sharing- the article is behind a pay wall so can't link it but if you have access to the Oregonian it's worth a few minutes of your time.
-
I am sure Dan will share this with the team. You know like the manager at the team meeting who brings everyone up to date on all the 'company activity'

Speaking of slick william he now has a job with the Ravins holding Derick Henry’s helmet for him, I think that job is safe. My gosh my 6 year old grandson could do that.
Willy Lyles and Willy Taggart are two distinctly different things with regard to Oregon football.
One got Oregon in big trouble with the NCAA over recruiting violations which were serious. Chip’s fingerprints were all over the mess along with another former assistant coach.
But, back to our regularly scheduled programming and Rose bowl focus.
-
Chip’s exit to the NFL was aided by the Willy Lyles investigation . Remember that? Chip was potentially due to be severely sanctioned. Leaving was the best option for him and Oregon.
water under the bridge now but Chip’s options were severely limited.

Yes Chip appeared to have a great game plan aided by Tennessee’s abysmal defensive game plan.
Nico needs lots of refinement and coaching.

Tough to lose one. But if his heart wasn't into the move to Oregon, better to have him bolt now than later on.
On the topic of the Ducks' wide receiver room, what's the scuttlebutt on Jurrion Dickey? Heard some encouraging comments from him after his true freshman year, but it never resulted in any playing time for him. What seems to be holding him back at this point? I don't even see his name mentioned in articles describing the next players who might step up with the graduation of Tez Johnson, Traeshon Holden, and (possibly) Evan Stewart.
Whoops- did not see Charles'post above but what he has stated is what I have heard as well from a couple of different people close to the program.

Word is his mother passed away and he feels the need to be closer to home.

So tired of this whole saga. The writer is clearly playing to DS. Is he trying to get the job as the SID at Colo or maybe he is the chairperson of the Deion Mutual Admiration Society.
Great for Travis. Hope he does well at the next level.

Cristobal is 0-1 against Iowa State.
That Fiesta Bowl the Ducks went to against Iowa State was an outright embarrassment. Sure, it was the 2020 season that was a mess in so many ways.
But I have never seen an Oregon team so woefully under prepared than that Fiesta Bowl team. Miscommunication, players being in the outright wrong place and just dropping the football and making bad decisions.
Most of us have forgotten about that game for good reason.
I don't recall many games that Mario coached teams were prepared for.
I still remember the game at Stanford when Joe Moorehead fell seriously ill and Mario had no plan. The Ducks had no clue what to do and it showed. I sat behind the bench and the coaches looked like the keystone cops. That was it for me with Mario.

"There doesn’t seem to be a program/ coach doing what Dan Lanning is doing since he took over the HC role. The clarity of program direction, the tight knit culture he’s established, the recruiting and commitment from those around the program, and the almost quiet nature that Oregon news breaks communicates to me that how serious this program is.
There’s no need to celebrate, take victory laps, beat their chest. This is the expectation. This is the standard. Anything else will not be accepted. It’s just so impressive.."
This says it all^^^^

Not related to the award itself, but did you catch Mario when they did the Cam Ward segment?
First off, he said Ward was the greatest player he ever coached. I get he’s not going to go on there and laud any others but he certainly could have tried to be a bit more eloquent (yeah I know Mario and eloquent are rarely in the same sentence) but he was just bad. And his demeanor is always like he just heard the worst possible news. The guy never smiles.
So glad that guy is gone.
-
Of course he does because it means more face time on TV for him.

Mario was star struck but some who know recruiting said he was average at best in high school.

And the fan base is equally as salty.
In case you missed it Oregon held on every play, committed PI nonstop, and had illegal men downfield all night long. Also, Abdul Carter was held every play thus was unable to perform at his usual level.
