Meanwhile, the best coach prowling a college football sideline is practically an afterthought.

Wait, I thought Cignetti was the best coach.

Great article, he takes every issue one might find with the unanimous No.1 and refutes them so even a...well no, no Husky fan will ever accept that they've been left in a Purple Haze

Oh that Hendrix reference is epic.

With the QB flip from Cal, we will have

2- 5☆ and at least 3- 4☆ on scholly at the QB position and at least 1 fast rising 3☆.

I know Lanning is always looking for better players, but I really can't believe they take a qb from the portal.

    Not this year.

Footnote: I expect Moga or Novosad to transfer.

Same- would not be surprised to see Moga transfer.   No insights or direct knowledge in any way, just guessing.

  3. UGH- Mario just never ceases to amaze.  He just does not know when to stop.

He is making his ineptness look even worse by doing this.

"Hey, CFP committee, I really screwed up in a couple of games and cost my team wins but can you please overlook that and reward us anyway.   We did not beat any Top Ten teams but, please pay no attention to that, okay??? Please????"

He is prepping the Miami fan base to go all in and blame the committee.

I remember Lanning shutting it down in year one. I think it's something the team has had to earn.

I think there is some other surrounding culture built into it now too. Use it as part of an emotional energy boost to go into the 4th quarter but they need to use it as such.

We saw Oregon su very Jump Around at UW (different than Uw) to use it to boost them into the 4th. It's not a party it's about coming together as a team.

100% correct.  He shut it down right after he had a chance to.observe things from a team culture perspective shortly after he arrived and it was seriously  lacking.

Even though our old friend Mario talked a big game about culture and family neither existed according to people with direct knowledge .

His comment was during that time out they are trying to coach guys up and IF the Ducks are winning then they can have fun with Shout.

How far has Chip fallen? Didn’t think he could go any lower after his NFL firings and then UCLA. 10 points against Michigan at home with the athletes he has at his disposal?

In a tweet posted today James Crepea labeled Chip as a coach the game passed by 10 years ago.

Yeah, no way you fire him when you're headed to the playoffs. That would get an AD fired.

But certainly at this point, if they lose the first game in the playoffs, Day is done. If he wins one or more he probably hangs on for another year, depending on what other coaches are available.

Fan base seems to think Vrabel is the guy.

I understand the allure of getting a very experienced QB again, but hoping that Oregon can make something happen with their recruits.

Maybe I've not be following as closely as before, but is Dante Moore not looking like the "heir apparent"?

As I mentioned in another thread, I don't think we have enough data points to know if Dante is the guy or not.

Would seem if they go after a QB in the portal then there are possibly questions.

    Just my opinion

Yeah, I would have to say that "Oregon" has excelled at identifying its "brand" and has positioned themselves to become the next Love em/Hate em program in all of NFL-lite.

Happy to be on the "Love my Ducks" side of the stance.

    🦆🏈🪨's

All this only reinforces why our brethren to the north (Corvallis) are in the mess they are in.   If only they had thought about cultivating their brand when Smith was leading the resurgence instead of constantly mocking Oregon.   The reality though (and they will never admit it publicly) is they are/were envious of Oregon because Oregon had smart people who decided to build the brand many years ago.

I know the common orange and black rejoinder to all this is 'well, you'd be nothing without Phil Knight'.  There is credence to that for sure BUT there are more smaller fish in the pond than big fish and Oregon has done a really good job of cultivating that segment of the fan base.

Not my intention to hijack this thread in anyway.
