  1. 30 years from now Canzano and Wilner will still be banging this same drum.   John just can't end his OS lovefest.  🤯  I am sure he is sending his love to Bray as well.

BTW- the esteemed beav beat writer at the O, Nick Daschel yesterday asked his acolytes if they were cheering for the DUCKS since it meant money for OS if they won.  My God, the replies were beyond pathetic.   Take my word, only unless your are really truly beyond bored don't read the dissertations on X.

  2. Parents don't want him at their house.  Okay, sure.  Of course they want to come to his house because, well he can show off the palatial mansion his sons bought him and his cars and his Louis Vuitton collection and his gold jewelry.

All about the clicks.  Dan was very prescient on this one.

  3. I thought of Barnes as well.   Would not be surprised to see him make the move.   Imagine the firestorm that would set off in beavland.

I am sure the UW fans are putting a pretty face on this saying he simply could not pass up the opportunity to move closer to home.  His football coach bolted (although he admitted to having an inkling when KD did not sign the extension) and the bball coach was recently fired.

Lots of 'to do' items for the next person.

  4. I always have to restrain myself when the husky acolytes on Twitter (X) start throwing out the scores of the last three matchups and dissing DL as a great recruiter and nothing more,  but I digress.

Dawg fans know very well, (damn well) they have a lot of work to do and winning a lot of games next year is going to be a big task.

There's those pesky little things called facts and the facts bear out that team was decimated big time and they have not yet replenished.   The other thing most won't publicly admit is that they wished DeBoer had done what Dan did when the Alabama thing surfaced.  Their strategy was hope and we all know about hope as a strategy, it ain't one.

    Time will tell.

  5. His buyout is very high so Mullens has a real dilemma on his hands.  Not one I would want to have to deal with but then again it comes with the territory.

Some have postulated that Graves wants to go to the WNBA as an asst.  Fact or fiction, can't say for sure but what has transpired this year is definitely vexing.

One would be somewhat more sympathetic if all the transfers had not taken place after last season.   I get there were injuries this year but it just seems like there are systemic issues within the program and those need to be addressed quickly.

When I am looking around for a football chat program to listen to, Matt Hayes is always high on my list (along with Greg McElroy). Good writer and solid analyst IMHO. He is like a lot of us who liv(ed) in the South and came to appreciate the dedication Lanning showed in all his coaching stops before landing in Eugene.

I believe I was one of the first on the forum to tell you guys that you were going to love this guy. And given the history with past Head Coaches in recent years, I was overjoyed to hear that he quickly responded that he had everything he needed in Eugene and was staying when Bama came sniffing around. Gotta love that kind of loyalty these days and I suspect it will rub off on his teams.

Kudos to  you Nevada Dawg.   You did tell us very early on we would love Dan.  He is genuine, real and has vision.  I was told by someone close to the program that Dan truly realizes what he has at Oregon.   His predecessors, including CK did not, thus choosing to move on because they believed they had better opportunities.   Not going down the rabbit hole on how that has or has not worked out depending on  your option.

    Thanks for sharing your wisdom.

Recognizing you have a problem is the first step in fixing it. After watching Mario at Oregon and now at Miami, I'm not so sure he sees any problem with in-game decision making.

Recruiting at a high level and expecting to have a top-notch football team is like buying a 1967 Stratocaster and expecting to play like Jimi Hendrix... It's not going to happen. Having great tools helps but ya still have to know what to do with them.

I'm glad we have Dan.  He's a new head coach and makes some mistakes because of that but OBD seem to be good a self-scouting and correcting things.

    That Hendrix reference is epic!😉👍

  8. Imagine the smiles in dawgland as they remind us they are 'academically prowess'.

And just to ensure we all smile, here is Jimmy's quote:

“I think that is way more pumped up [by the media] than it is. Our battles are really … the schools that we go against are way more … have academic prowess — like the University of Washington. Notre Dame, Stanford, USC. We go with a lot of battles toe-to-toe all the way to the end with those schools. So I think that’s made up a lot and pumped up in your [media] world. In our world, we battle more academically prowess teams.”

    An interesting move indeed.

But it's a good move for Chip.

He has had the opportunity to be head coach at several great locations, and at age 60, has decided what might make him enjoy life more.

I'm sure the current era of NIL and transfer portal has made his "love" of recruiting even less so.

Yes, as OC he still needs to recruit, but only for one side of the game, and without the responsibility for everything.

He still attracts great offensive talent, Dante Moore is a fine example. He was strong Oregon all the way until Chip flipped him.

He also has had great RB's in his system routinely.

I expect he will do well as OC at tOSU.

Probably not as successful as at Oregon, but I expect better than what tOSU has been of late.

As for $$, I'm sure by now he has saved more then he might ever use. He has learned by now that $$ means little if you ain't happy.

And the move to Ohio should save plenty in taxes and cost of living.

I look forward to seeing tOSU play. Watching fast, hard, finish football is fun and entertaining.

I'm still glad we have our coaches. Will S. is half Chip's age and just as wiley. And there ain't no one else out there that comes close to our coach DL.

    So let's Go Ducks!!

    Bring it on Buckeyes!

Don't know that it was so much Chip flipping Moore as it was Dillingham leaving.
