This is the official GameDay thread for discussing the game with UCLA before it begins, during and after the game ends. Yours-truly will have a game reaction article on Sunday, and an Opinion-Editorial article on Monday, so let’s have some fun pondering it all. I regard this game to be a tough match-up for the Ducks because of how well ...

Thank you for sharing the outside zone read tutorial.  So simple to block and so smart to use.  The analysis was easy to follow.

Teaching linemen to "take their man where he wants to go" creates those huge running lanes.

I love watching the backs read the linemen's blocks and having the vision to see the hole.  They were taught so well by Coach Gary Campbell.

Charles awesome tutorial. Great way to start this football filled Saturday.

Just a few thoughts:

How disciplined will our young defense play today? 11 players in sync or 11 individuals trying to do too much? This roller coaster ride could be exhilarating or emotional devastation for the Duck faithful today. Can we set and hold the edges, string the plays to the sideline and allow our secondary to tackle for a loss?  We have the key players to make this happen.

From the tutorial it is easy to see your frustration at Cristobal for abandoning such a successful offensive scheme.  A few basic plays with multiple options for success.  One way to explain this is on our nuclear submarines when they launch a missile it has upto 13 warheads on board. At a certain altitude point those warheads disperse. Good luck shooting down all the options.

We used to wear defenses out, at warp speed, trying to defend all the options. Short passes became touchdowns. Perfect for QB's who have trouble throwing over the top. Hammer!

If CK upticks the tempo, look out!

Hold the Bruins under 21 and we can win this game. Doubtful.....

Let's go Ducks and may we all sit down to dinner with a Duck victory.

Thank you Mr. FD.

This play sure seemed to work for Oklahoma in the 2nd half against Texas and vs TCU?

Probably matters whether Jimmy or Joe is playing QB?

Hope Forsyth being back will help both the run and pass game today?

Guest Picker today is not Judge Judy. It's UCLA grad Bill 'Conference of Champions' Walton.

Show will definitely go over its allotted time.

Impressive turn out by UCLA fans at 6 in the morning.

UCLA last defeated a ranked opponent in LA 14 years ago. The opponent? The Ducks. Oh no!

Don't forget that this is the Game-Thread, and let's have fun with it!

First...I noted that Spencer Webb has been beaten out at Tight End by true freshman Terrance Ferguson!

And...as I look at the starting line-up, I say to myself..."how can we NOT do well?"

Third....I have a Duck-Buddy who insists that THIS is the game that the Oregon Defense emerges in a big way.  Boy would I love that!

Hope so Charles!!! but... there's always the Cristobal factor😒

Charles,do you have a link to today’s starting lineup?

Didn’t post an organizational chart this week, that I could find.

Thanks!

There is one right here however we have had one on the forum all along!  Go to the black area below the logo above and click on "Repository" and a drop down menu has ChileDuck's Depth Chart.

So many things I provide up there...and nobody notices!  (Like Directions on how to do everything!)

Mr. FishDuck

1st team OL has TJ Bass at left tackle, Jackson Powers-Johnson at left guard, Ryan Walk at center, Steven Jones at right guard and Malesala Aumavae-Laulu at right tackle

Interesting starting offensive line according to Oregon live.

George Moore bumped out of the starting line-up!

Mr. FishDuck

Moore has been sub par in pass protection.

It's starting on ESPN News channel.

ABC/ESPN never allows any wiggle room for preceding games to run long. SO maddening.

It's begun!  CK outcoaching MC, using tempo.

DeRuyter's D won't work with this offense.

so the onslaught has begun

This P St game is going to go on forever

They should just go to rock paper scissors after the 4th OT, this is ridiculous

Ducks get the turnover but not capitalizing on the opportunity.

Ducks special teams is krap!  MC didn't properly prepare his team again.

DeRuyter and his soft bend-don't-break-defense needs to go!

AB's downfield throws remind me of Shaq trying to hit a basket from more than 4 ft.................

Penn State and Illinois are doing us a favor. Sparing us from seeing the carnage.

I'm more apt to say fire him. The D has major issues.

Before you fire DeRuyter, notice that it's only 14-7. There's a long way to go.

Duck football is back??

How is he dropping his best edge rusher, KT into coverage?

Herbstreit just made my point, questioning why KT is being dropped back into coverage.  This is at least the second time, DeRuyter has chosen to do that in this game.

McGee should have ran to the outside.

I think Seven needs to be a part of the game plan more because he's dynamic.

So after a very long TV time out...... Oregon has to call a timeout?

timeout oregon after kickoff and before even one play 🙄

how did they not review that catch?

ugh saw the tv review, good catch

Yea, I caught that.

The penalties are piling up on D, extending UCLA's drive.

the time was out

Overall the O looks a bit more confident

MC used he timeouts well.🤣😂🤣😂

Here's hoping the Ducks stay true to form and continue to be a second half team especially in the fourth quarter cuz I think they're going to need all they got.

We all recognize the terrible Pac-12 officiating, but why does it seem to hose Oregon the most?  That is three points that should not have happened...

Mr. FishDuck

Why was 2 seconds put on the clock? Who called a timeout?
