Duckley Palace No. 1 Share Posted October 5 With the last couple games looking more the way we thought OBD should look(Idaho curse behind us).Do we want Ohio State to blow out Iowa and come in at peak form, or do we want to have Iowa punch some chinks in the armor? I'm of a split mind. I want next week to be one of the biggest games ever. But I wouldn't mind seeing some vulnerability, but not enough as to make our win next week look like anything less than a defining moment. What do you say my friends? Solar No. 2 Share Posted October 5 Well, being college age kids, you don't know what you are going to get from one week to the next. So I prefer tOSU to be dominant against Iowa so regardless of how we play OSU is viewed as a top team, and if they have a bad game out west against Oregon, that's just too bad.
Drake Moderator No. 3 Share Posted October 5 Doesn’t matter how they play. Personally, I hope they lose. It’s all on us to man up, and play a good team. We will definitely get to see where we stand as far as our chances to make the CFP and be a legit contender. 1
Charles Fischer Administrator No. 4 Share Posted October 5 I would love Our Beloved Ducks to win an epic game where both teams looked elite. We are not ready on offense yet, but better than before in many respects. This being a big game may bring out the best on offense next Saturday? I loved these uniforms and especially the helmets! 1 3 Mr. FishDuck
HappyToBeADuck No. 5 Share Posted October 5 I would like to see Iowa hinder the Buckeyes running game. Thus forcing tOSU offense to throw the ball.. They have receivers with NFL level talent that they like to get in space. Want to see how Iowa handles it My concern on defense is the back end of the Ducks. Teams with lesser talent have created chunk yardage plays. tOSU receivers finish those plays in the end zone. Would like the Buckeyes to put 50 plus points on the board with 5 td passes. That will give the Ducks great game film and motivation. It will take a minimum of 38 points by the DUcks to hang with tOSU. 45 plus to win. Without a full 4 quarters by the ducks in all 3 phases it will be difficult to beat them. The Ducks bring the talrnt to the firld to beat the Buckeyes. They have not done that in one game yet this season. GO DUCKS.....this is the BIG Time! 1
30Duck No. 6 Share Posted October 5 I definitely want Ohio State to win, pretty much like the Ducks did against Michigan State, If I can have anything in the minds of Buckeyes, it's complacency. Don't want them to come in off a bad game feeling like they need to prove something.
The Kamikaze Kid Moderator No. 7 Share Posted October 5 I think the tOSU game is going to come down to limiting penalties and turnovers. A first quarter like last night and OBD will fall behind and it's game over. Play like the second quarter and I think they have a fourth quarter lead and will be in position to seal the deal. With that said, I want tOSU showing up next week in top form. To be the best you have to beat the best playing their best. I'd take an asterisk victory but I want an A game vs A game W. 1
OregonDucks No. 8 Share Posted October 5 It really doesn’t matter. Oregon will have to play a complete and clean game in all 3 phases to win the Ohio State game - something that the team hasn’t done this season, yet.

Charles Fischer Administrator No. 11 Share Posted October 5 You know, Jon Joseph just told me on the phone that Ohio State has had like the 130th toughest schedule thus far....in other words they have not been pushed or tested as Oregon was versus Boise State. I think those interceptions by the Spartan corners were just exceptional, and this was good for Gabriel to see what good B1G DBs can do with the Buckeyes coming. BTW...Jon was hit by the Hurricane in South Carolina, and has been mostly out of internet for a while. But he promised he'll be back soon! 1 1 Mr. FishDuck

True, a learning experience hopefully. All 3 of DG's INT's have been deep in the Red Zone on throws he shouldn't have made. Hopefully that is something he has learned with B1G games coming.

This was my thought exactly. Against any of our previous opponents, those balls are not intercepted. Especially the second one. They were both lights out plays by the Spartans. When they happened, I thought that perhaps DG was surprised, thinking he had good throws. And I thought that he is now aware that DBs can be a lot better than what he has seen. 1
2002duck No. 14 Share Posted October 5 Game 6 of the year will never be one of the biggest games ever. We are going to do this all the time now. It was supposed to be like this when we played USC but somehow their program fell off the map for a decade or more.

But it's quite possible they do put it together. There will be no lack of focus at any point in this game by anyone. This is one of the most hyped games of the year. The last time we played a game this hyped was against Colorado, and look how that went until we were beating them so bad our players lost interest. One of the differences between Bo and Dillon is the mental game. Bo was always at his best when he was comfortable. Dillon has thrived under pressure. I expect to see Dillon's best next week including some effective running when necessary. I hope tOSU players come in cocky, but I think Kelly will make sure they don't underestimate how hard this game will be.
Duckley Palace Author No. 16 Share Posted October 6 Well we didn't really get anything unexpected today. Iowa held in there for a half before their defense just couldn't hold down the fort anymore. Three points I must address all are well known already. • Jeremiah Smith is a stud. He's going to be an issue at 6'3 and 220 lbs at 18!! He's not going to be stopped, we just need to make sure Tate, Ebuka, Judkins and Henderson don't go off as well. Get pressure on Howard, but that presents other issues. • Chip Kelly has helped their biggest perceived weakness. Coming into the season the biggest weakness was supposed to be the offensive line. Something Ryan Day has had issues with recruiting. But Chip Kelly has helped reduce QB pressures with his schemes. Will Howard deserves credit as well as he can move around with more prowess as he has two hundred rushing yards so far. • Ohio State has nothing on OBD when it comes to alternate uniforms. Those all gray unis were hideous. I hope they don't try to match us with all of our options next week. We don't have the classic uni perhaps, but our alternate lineup is unmatched.
