This might be just what Jennifer Cohen needs to get rid of him.

As a result of the violations, the parties also agreed that football head coach Lincoln Riley violated head coach responsibility rules."

USC's football program has been fined $50,000 and placed on a one-year probation due to a violation of "on- and off-field coaching activities" during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, the NCAA...

A $50k fine is a lot less to pay than whatever multi-million-dollar buy-out Riley has. Besides, he's a gift to the rest of the conference.

Probably not... I don't think USC is ready to pay out Riley and I think they'll give him another year to get his act together.

Sounds like slap on the wrist punishment.

Interesting that they have 6 extra "coaches" but no improvement of their play lol

He could be fired for cause for the violations. The investigation has already stated that he is responsible for them. This might be the loophole Cohen needs to get rid of him and his contract.

I think you're right. But a jrw stated earlier Riley is doing a great job for the rest of the B1G and no other team should want USC to do anything.

I think they should keep him. But they could maybe pick up N-O cheap, maybe next season. What’s the rush.

I hear the Georgia Southern coach has turned that program around and is a hot commodity. Maybe they should hire that guy?

Jeff Monkey, undefeated Army coach came from that program.

SC will probably just hire some professor on campus.

Could they threaten to fire him and renegotiate his contract? If they can legally give him the axe, he would pretty much have to do it.

LR to Florida State.  He couldn't do worse than one win, right??

Hollywood loves re-boots, and as a fan of a B1G team, I hope this is what SC does.

You're right, that could be true. INAL, so I don't know, but it sounds like something that could result lots of billable hours on both sides, with the risk of the school losing.

If I’m Jennifer Cohen I wait for Bama fans to lose patience with DeBoer and get him back. That could be as little as 2 weeks. But, it could be longer if he wins the SEC or a playoff game.

No.......the powers want to retain him.
