Ruh-Roh! Oregon Has a B1G Advantage for Portal Transfers!

Recommended Posts

This is a big advantage for a team like Oregon,

both for portal additions and late period signings!

I'm sure the NCAA will act to take it away ASAP!

I thought we'd been experiencing that outcome for quite some time, already.

Charles, great take on the quarter system.

How many Trojans players will be making the trip to Vegas to play A+M?

"Cancel the bus, we'll use Carol Folt's SUV."

For something to Stay In Vegas, doesn't it first have to arrive in Vegas? 😍

Me, no thanks to Branch.

I like the room we have and the young talent.

I do not want to scare away recruits if we get too much of a reputation for portal poaching.

However, I will always trust Dan and the gang.

Agree with Steven, we should be just fine at wideouts. No sense doing something unnecessary.

I may be wrong but I don’t see usuc as a threat in the immediate future.

Everyone keep in mind that more players will be entering the portal as their teams lose in the Playoffs, Bowl Games, etc.  We also do not yet know if Jordan James or Josh Conerly Jr. are returning, and that impacts portal recruiting in a big way for those positions.

Heck yeah, quarter system!!! Who the hell wants to go to class in August anyway?! I mean, as Rod Stewart once sang, "It's LATE SEPTEMBER and I really should be back at school..." Not mid frickin August. Puke! 😄

Agreed. Branch has had problems with drops and he's a package deal with his brother.

Is the quarter system that rare?

Personally, I loved the quarter system while at UO and just in general. The quarter system always meant that every quarter was a bit of sprint and with only 10 weeks it was difficult to get too complacent with classes and fall behind. Semesters just drag on forever.

Yeah, casually one could think he is a drop in replacement for Tez, but that's not close to reality. He has the natural feel for running with the ball, but not necessarily running routes and catching balls.

Best quote I read today, “Following a 6-6 season, USC has had 18 players enter the transfer portal since it opened on Dec. 9.”

He had two carries for 17 yards this season and only one receiving TD. Lanning may snatch him up, but if he doesn’t I don’t think Oregon fans will be disappointed.
