Posted January 11Jan 11 Administrator Everything you needed to know about both teams.... 😆 Start the discussion, and Go B1G! Mr. FishDuck
January 11Jan 11 mid 2nd Q - so far, interesting to me how much Ohio State is throwing into the middle of the field rather than toward the sidelines
January 11Jan 11 Moderator OBD gets the Terminator version of osu2. The Horns get the 2nd and 20, 3rd and 18 penalty riddles version.
January 11Jan 11 Gotta say that I'm surprised OSU only has 7 points in the waning minutes of the first half. Compared to 34 on OBD, you have to wonder what happened to our defense. Edited January 11Jan 11 by Chas Man

January 11Jan 11 Moderator osu2 sure looks like they're trying hard to figure out a way to lose this game.
January 11Jan 11 Moderator That's better, 14-7, and if Ohio State can start the 2nd half with a TD, this could be alright.
January 11Jan 11 Moderator That was the nail in the coffin. Ohio State just said “We’re done playing with you guys”. OSU gets the ball back after the half. They’re going to march down the field and put the game away.
January 11Jan 11 14-7 half-time... So far, the Ohio State roster is doing a good job of stopping both offenses. Well, 7-0 until 30 secs. left 178 yds - Texas 236 yds - Ohio State
January 11Jan 11 Moderator Sark is about the most uninspiring coach in college football. He’s the same guy he was at uw and USuC. Ohio State comes out and gets three more scores and shuts Texas out in the second half.

January 11Jan 11 Although Oregon was ridiculously not prepared to play last week, I would have much rather had a shot at this OSU team, rather than the one we played last week. Edited January 11Jan 11 by Desert Duck

This is the same OSU team that beat Oregon. Their defense is just as aggressive and they’re handling Sark’s offense pretty well. The big difference is Oregon’s defense couldn’t stop them. Howard is tentative now that he has to play All-American defensive backs. Howard needs another big pass play to stick a fork in Texas’s defense.

January 11Jan 11 Smith? Yes 1 reception, 3 yds, after 3 quarters. Tennessee and Oregon combined: 13 receptions, 290 yds

January 11Jan 11 Moderator Maybe in the end it was the fight over the flag with Michigan that woke up their fighting spirit. Buckeyes have been an entirely different animal since then.
January 11Jan 11 OSU points allowed this season in 15 games: 32-Oregon 21-Oregon 17-Nebraska, Tennessee 15-Indiana 14-Marshall, Texas 13-Penn St, Michigan 7-Michigan St, Iowa, Northwestern 6-Akron 0-W. Michigan, Purdue 12.2/game is best in the nation 14.3/game, No. 2 is Notre Dame Scoring offense 37.0 for Notre Dame, 6th 35.8 for OSU, 13th

January 11Jan 11 Does Oregon get extra if a B1G team goes further? Trying to justify some of my fellow SEC fans for going for Texas. I can't become a fan of another team because of conference affiliation. I was hoping you guys would get your first title. Now I have to pick between Notre Dame and Ohio State? I'll just say good luck to either fan base. Maybe I'll switch to college basketball. Oregon got a big win over Ohio State last night and Florida crushed the undefeated and number one ranked Tennessee by thirty a couple nights ago.
January 11Jan 11 Moderator Who knew, Jeremiah Smith could be covered? The D except in Autzen, never let Ohio State down the entire season. It wasn't pretty but it sets up a shot to stuff the Domers. The ACC facilitates ND's independence. $20M + so far for ND and the good Fathers aren't sharing the loot. Buckeyes open -9.5! Marcus Freeman beat PSU and James Franklin but I don't believe he will defeat his alma mater.

Oregon is a half-share media revenue partner through the next media deal but gets 1/18th of what OBD, Indiana, Penn State, and Ohio State bring in from the CFB PO and the B1G makes from the CBB Tournament. We sure as 💩 ain't sharing any of our share with the Pac-2!

January 11Jan 11 Thanks for the confidence in the Buckeyes, Jon. I, for one, wanted Penn State, but Big Game James made his usual Big Game Decisions throughout. OSU is typically solid against ND, but the games are often tighter than they should be on paper. Freeman is also growing into a fine head coach. The Irish can beat anyone and just give me the creeps. BTW, congrats on the B1G championship this year and good luck next season. It's great to have the Ducks in the conference. Pure class.

It was easy, for me at least, to root for OSU tonight. Much different than watching UW last year... I imagine time in the B1G will change that eventually. 😆 But at least for now, I'm pulling for OSU all the way, and I think they will run ND off the field. It's their year. Well deserved.
January 11Jan 11 Moderator From Buckeyes Wire - Ohio State football defeats Texas: 5 takeaways from CFP semifinal BUCKEYESWIRE.USATODAY.COM Things didn’t come nearly as easy for Ohio State against Texas in a CFP semifinal, but in the end, the Buckeyes did what they needed to win and advance to the College Football Playoff nationa…
