It sounded like the NIL offer was greater from TAMU than Oregon on this one. He apparently is a life long Ducks fan but Oregon wasn't going to match the offer from what I've read.

But this might be one we wait and see on come December.

There we go. Life Long Fan< $$$. But yeah, he'll be around later.

Ugh. Swing and another miss……

Yeah, but I don't think it's a miss, the Ducks held their swing. A & M & USC are swinging for the fences, but it's the 4th inning.

Even with the bigger NIL offer I'd be leery of TA&M just because of their recent history with trying to cobble together rosters with enormous amounts of money, didn't work out too well for Jimbo Fisher.

Here are the top 50 recruits according to ON/3. Ducks, Ohio St, U$C and A$M are the only ones with two.

We will not get every recruit we go after. But we are doing well.

recruiting these days isn't about incoming freshmen but incoming Redshirt Freshmen/Sophomores. If they are lifelong Duck fans but the coin is much greener, I don't blame them. You get one shot at generational money. Set your family up. But, when you have that first ridiculous payout, then consider the Ducks with a transfer, for a slightly lesser payout of course.

No way to spin it other than a miss.

We whiffed on a long time Ducks fan.

Not good.

The only silver lining in this is that we have some excellent young DBs and a couple of DB commits already.  So probably doesn’t hurt too bad.  Same with the DB that just committed to Notre Dame.

Where are the OL guys in 2026?  That’s my big concern right now.

We don’t want to be USC and have 22 DBs on the roster and no linemen.

I will spin it the other way, the long time fan whiffed on the Ducks.  USC is recruiting with a blank check, "Hey kid, how much is it gonna take?" That is not a strategy even if the player had to stay with the Trojans. He doesn't of course which has USC living up to the adage, "A fool and his money are soon parted"

The other silver lining. It doesn't matter before signing day. Many of these 'Lost Boys' will likely be available on the rebound before signing day or out of the portal.
