November 12Nov 12 No. Yeah, I know she was actually my daughter' diabetic alert dog, but Daisy (yup, named after THAT Duck) never missed a game. She watched with us, and eagerly participated in our beach football games (Heaven forbid you missed a pass, or fumbled. You'd better be quick and agile!)I coached soccer for many seasons, and I had trained her to handle a ball well enough that I often took her to practice, and used her to train inexperienced players on defensive positioning and tactics.Kids didn't even realize they were actually acquiring skills because they had so much fun.I'll definitely miss her the rest of the season, as I watch OBD march to glory.I have a feeling it just won't seem quite the same.
November 12Nov 12 No. I am sorry for your loss woundedknees. It’s been about 14 years since we lost our dog. So many great memories combined with the sadness of losing him even now. You and your family are in thoughts.
November 12Nov 12 No. Sorry for your loss. I know the sting when you lose a companion, just lost mine a month ago, Murphy 17 1/2 year old Yorkie.
November 12Nov 12 Author No. That's pretty good longevity for a Yorkie.Daisy would have been 9 Dec 10.In 51 years of marriage, she was the only dog my wife ever allowed to sleep on the bed. When my wife was diagnosed with a rare form of ocular melanoma, the surgeon commented that Daisy had alerted on the issue, before it was actually diagnosed.Never underestimate the value of the right companion!
November 12Nov 12 Administrator No. I hear-ya Duck Buddy. I still miss my beloved Abbie... Mr. FishDuck
November 12Nov 12 No. My condolences to you and your family. Coming up on one year without our Rottie, Roxy. Still feels like she should be greeting us when we come in. 🥲

November 12Nov 12 No. Part of Daisy became part of you, and that will forever be her legacy.Cherish that part of Daisy-You.Peace be with you.
November 12Nov 12 No. I had three sons.......the best one barked.....and is gone now. I miss him very much. So.....totally understand your grief. If you get her cremated keep the ashes near your bed....so you can have a conversation with somebody who understands you.
November 12Nov 12 No. Sorry for your loss my friends. I know that pain and while it never completely goes away, it does get better. This was our Duck watching best friend.
November 12Nov 12 Moderator No. My sincerest condolences. My dogs passed away years ago and I still miss seeing them everyday.

November 13Nov 13 No. Deep condolences WK. Hard enough to lose a member of the household, but your game watching partner too? Remember the good times!
November 13Nov 13 No. Sorry for your loss. My big Poodle Cosmo starts out watching every game with me. As soon as I start yelling at the screen, he quickly exits.
November 13Nov 13 Author No. Daisy had a knack for vocaliziing appropriately when Ducks made boneless mistakes...
November 14Nov 14 No. So sorry WK. I lost my dawg Pokey in 1994 and have never had the inclination to try to replace him. My wife didn't, but he enjoyed Dawg football with me, actually watching the game and cueing his responses to my body language. When the Georgia Redcoat band would strike up the fight song after a Georgia touchdown, he would howl and was good at it as he was a quarter wolf dog. He was a great companion who helped me to get through the stresses and emotions of the dissolution of my first marriage. I've healed now from his death (and that marriage), but I can never forget and will always celebrate that Dawg!
