So now we will have 6 scholarship players as RB's and 2 walk-ons.

Seems like a lot.

I'm guessing a Division 2 running back who had a 27 carry, 120 yard season is not on scholarship at Oregon.

It does feel like 6 is too many.

Even though we didn't see too much of a run offense during the spring game I do think this indicates two things.

1. Oregon is going to have a run heavy offense.

2. The coaches don't feel too comfortable with the current depth.

5'7" 172lbs. No offers out of high school? Hmm... somebody know something the rest of us don't? Not sure on this but hey, I haul logs for a living not assess football talent for power 5 football recruiting. Maybe he can play.

Maybe they are looking to have a different back for every down??

Shouts Walk-on to me…

I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case.

The offer could be something like come as a walk on and earn a scholarship...

Or throw some NIL money in there to make a walk on effectively a scholarship.

I would be more surprised if it was as anothr scholarship player. Oregon doesn't have that many scholarships to work with right now.

Especially since it sounds like they might be after some more defensive linemen.

He's a kid out of Kansas (Bishop Miege HS).  Saint Joseph, MO (Missouri Western St) is not far from here (3 hours), and he was a Freshman during COVID.

The former Nebraska DL Jordan Riley appears set to complete his transfer to Eugene.  In addition I saw this morning Casey Rogers, another Cornhusker DL projected starter, is a possible Oregon addition.
