Steven A Moderator No. 1 Share Posted October 3, 2022 Wisconsin fires football coach Paul Chryst WWW.ESPN.COM Wisconsin has fired coach Paul Chryst, and defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard will serve as interim coach for the remainder of the season. Hope they don't Coug-it twice in the same season. Better job than Colorado or ASU
McDuck No. 2 Share Posted October 3, 2022 This is getting absurd. One would think 67-26 would earn a bit of loyalty. Bellotti had a few bad years. He went 6-5, 7-5, then 8-4 in 1996-8. In this environment he would have been fired. For a bit of humor it's behind a paywall but a local paper's headline didn't age well, dated yesterday. ‘An approach that has served us well’: Wisconsin AD Chris McIntosh will be patient with Paul Chryst through these tough times

HappyToBeADuck No. 4 Share Posted October 3, 2022 Could be a good relanding spot for Urban Meyer. His personal elevator may not go all the way to the top but the man can ● Build a solid staff ● Recruit, recruit, recruit ● Flat out coach and direct ● Motivate boosters ● Help Whisky compete on the National level. If the paycheck is right and top NIL money is available, well who knows.

McDuck No. 6 Share Posted October 3, 2022 Wonder if Barry Alvarez still has his fingerprints all over the head coaching position. I believe the new AD is an Alvarez disciple.
David Marsh No. 7 Share Posted October 3, 2022 The standard is way to high these daya to win. Cryst had a 72% win rate. Though... As ducks fans we tossed Helfrich out on his butt after one really bad season. He had a 70% win rate. The win now culture is brutal.

PittDuck No. 12 Share Posted October 4, 2022 I’m sorry, but a coach would have to be a complete idiot to take a job where winning 70% of your games gets you fired. Why the heck would anybody set themselves up for that? Talk about impossible expectations….
