New Year’s Eve Bowl Games Discussion
Iowa gives up an INT in the end zone after marching down the field.

Oregon Will Romp Because Texas Tech is a Fraud
I don't recall now where i saw it, but one thing i haven't seen many questions or information about is how good is TT second defense line? Once their vaunted front 7 are winded, what kind of fall off is there? Can OBD go up tempo and gas them? Not swap out and force them to either get flagged for illegal substitute or just get caught flat footed? How will a long sustained drive affect their conditioning? How much effect will sustained drive after sustained drive, just dinking and doinking down the field in the first half wear them out? Thats one thing i am interested in. SCO DUCKS!!!

Go Hawkeyes! I'd love a 8-4 B1G team to take a 10-2 SEC team to the woodshed.

New Year’s Eve Bowl Games Discussion
Another B1G vs. SEC matchup to kick the day off. I’m going with Vandy but only because they chose to honor Phil Knight with the Shoe Duck uniforms. However, Iowa just ripped through their defense like it was standing still.

Well, the uniforms they are busting out certainly signals a butt whooping is in the making. They look JUST LIKE BEAVIS!

Michigan Hires Whittingham
I've been surprised by the cold reception of Whit by many pundits. Are they ignorant or just plain stupid? In coaching circles Whit has been the most respected head coach in college football for the last decade. And as mentioned, his blue collar style is a perfect match for Michigan. He'll have the resources he needs to get great players who will want to play for him. Look how good DeBoer has recruited at Alabama, despite not being able to recruit his way out of a paper bag at UW. This is a home run hire for Michigan. They will be back to their perch by 2027 at the latest.

I've had way too much time thinking about this. With the spread so close our passing advantage and a healthy Morton, I'm betting on the over as a pun, this game is going into overtime running the score up. Oregon wins 39-32 2 T/O 3 sacks 280 yards passing.

Oregon Will Romp Because Texas Tech is a Fraud
I do agree with Mike's takeaways, but then again what would TTU be saying about us if the only games they watched were Indiana Penn State and Iowa? As said above, turnovers are what create the large score differentials for TTU. Our RBs don't fumble, so it's on Dante Moore to take care of the ball and limit that occurrence. TTU coaches have had a month game plan for us. They don't normally blitz, but maybe this time they do use a scheme more similar to Indiana, bringing and simulating pressures with the LBs. I am concerned we will get out coordinated again, especially with Tosh and Stein's limited bandwidth. Although it did just occur to me that the distractions of recruiting for Oregon don't fall on their plate anymore. And DL has learned from the Rose Bowl you simply have to game plan better, including hypothetical things the other team may try on you. Also with Morton finally being 100% mobile again we have to game plan for that probability of him using that mobility that hasn't shown up on film, both in escaping pressure and designed runs. I do have confidence we will be ready to play our hardest most confident effort, especially along the OL. One of the biggest things to suffer with long layoffs is tackling, so hopefully we do try to play some old Stein ball that tries to get players in a little bit of space that puts the onus on tackling for TTU.

What the Transfer Portal Costs now: Position‑by‑Position Price Ranges Amid a Market Surge
I read somewhere that since Campbell went to PSU ISU the portal has left them high and dry of players.

What the Transfer Portal Costs now: Position‑by‑Position Price Ranges Amid a Market Surge
A compressed Jan. 2–16 window is fueling fast moves and bigger deals. Here's what each position costs this cycle The college football transfer portal will officially open Jan. 2 and with it should come a flurry of activity, big-money deals and roster transformations. There is more pressure than ever this time around with the spring portal period disbanded in favor of a sole winter period that runs from Jan. 2 through Jan. 16. It's why this year's winter portal could resemble what we see with NFL free agency with many of the best options coming off the board quickly for big money deals. "People are going to spend out of the gate -- like immediately -- your top guys, your best guys, are going to go quick," said a Big Ten general manager. "Then it's the rest of them that are asking for money, but at some point they're going to come down a little bit because the money has already been spent."

Oregon Will Romp Because Texas Tech is a Fraud
Great analysis, Mike. I watched the B12 CG and the TT loss to ASU in detail. In the former, BYU by virtue of sloppy play and TOs handed the game to Tech on a silver platter. In the latter a good QB was able to find gaps in that secondary to exploit. Moore is one notch better than Leavitt, and with Stein's game plan will find the same weaknesses. The 'forced fumbles' that they hang their hat on will not be easy to come by against OBD. You can bet the last 10 days of practice at HDC have involved the RBs and WRs running a gauntlet of hands, elbows, knees, baseball bats and battering rams trying to dislodge the ball. As long as Oregon avoids TOs and gives Dante that extra second of protection to find his receivers, the offense will click just fine and key the win.

Oregon Coach Dan Lanning's Candid Comments On Taking Saturdays Back From NFL
Oregon coach Dan Lanning spoke candidly about ideas to improve the College Football Playoff format. Lanning believes college football should own Saturdays in December, instead of giving the days to the NFL. Oregon Coach Dan Lanning's Wants December Saturdays Back From NFL"We've got a ton of respect for the NFL. We are a prep league for the NFL... We do a lot of favors for the NFL," Lanning said. "But there's no money paid from the NFL to take care of college football. We've given up some of our days to the NFL." "Saturday should be sacred for college football. Every Saturday through the month of December should belong to college football, in my opinion," Lanning continued. Tuesday GameDay Discussion of Illinois-Tennessee & USC-TCU
Several old USuC all star players like Su'a Cravens and LenDale White called out LR and the defense after that horrible showing. They used less than genteel language pointing out that there are two sides to the ball and that former players should be on the coaching staff to teach the D how to tackle and act like Trojenz. TCU was led by their backup QB, a redshirt senior that hadn't started a game in two years. He still outclassed the U$C defense who time and again blew assignments and exhibited a lack of gap discipline and crappy tackling The apologists pointed out that WRs Lemon and Lane opted out of the game. Welcome to Oregon's world, losing your two best receivers at a critical point. One backup WR, Hines, played well as did walk-on RB Miller. Good luck, Lincoln, getting those kids to stay and not bail to the portal. If the B1G had to drop a bowl game, I'm personally happy it was the Boyz of Troyz. My only concern is that the powers that be in La La Land will cough up the big bucks to buy out Stinkin' Lincoln's contract after 2026 and bring in a new coach. One that excels at SoCal recruiting and player retention and understands that de-fence (sic) is not just something you build around your Beverly Hills crib to keep the riff-raff out.
