Ducks in the Mix for โ26
Circle these 2026 Top 25 games. OBD on the road at Ohio State, concern No. 1? Logical, but Boise State, Michigan, and UW are likely to be ranked. And Northwestern, UCLA, and perhaps Nebraska could be tough home wins. In addition to Ohio State, Illinois, and USC will likely be ranked when OBD visits. Oklahoma State, with new coach Eric Morris and 17 North Texas players coming to Stillwater with him, will not be a layup. Morris is following Cig's move and bringing in productive G6 players from a solid North Texas team, including 5* transfer portal-ranked QB Drew Mestermaker. Unlike Cig, who brought in his 2024 starting QB from Ohio University, there will be no learning curve for Drew and his teammates. In an admitted reach, PFF ranked OK State 25th in its preseason rankings. Two tough opening games; I wish Portland State were the Week 1 and not the Week 3 opponent. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-2026-schedule-way-too-early-top-25/

Seaton to LSU
I am not very disappointed that we were outbid. I would have been disappointed if the Ducks were to pay him $4 million to play here. I don't want to pay zillions for one great guy when we need 50-60 great guys to win a championship. I don't mind a player going for the big bucks, if that is his priority. To each his own.

From everything I read about this gentleman, I am not sure that he would have been a good fit with our Oregon culture. But what do I know?

Seems to me that is what we have seen for the last few years.

Seaton to LSU
Money aside, he probably figures he'll have better chances of winning the "big one" with Kiffen at LSU.

Seaton to LSU
When Seaton didnโt come for a visit I figured that the Ducks were not going to get him despite predictions in our favor.

Condoms and Cliff Notes to Advertise on Uni's?
Seems to me that condoms and U$C go together like... Trojan-ENZ and Trojans! I see a fever dream where Oregon, after the 2025 win, goes on to beat Trojan ENZ in La-La-Land this fall, then wins the rubber match in the B1G CG. Disgruntled Troy fans, wearing their prophylactic raincoats in anticipation of foul Indianapolis weather leaving Lucas Oil Stadium, just saw Tommy sheath his sword for the last time. Sorry, had to do it...

Seaton to LSU
My intuition tells me this is for the best. Geoff Schwartz says that Crader is going to be a good player. If we had added Seaton, my fear is that Crader would have entered the portal. The one thing DL needs to do differently, IMHO, is build an OL that plays together more than one year, as the Ducks had as recently as the Alex Forsyth cohort.

Seaton to LSU
I don't blame the kid, Baton Rouge is a lot closer to his Wash DC home and likely comes with the biggest bucket of NIL cash from the Geaux Tigers donor base. Shame he has to have Lame Kitten as a role model. Yes, Oregon could have used him at LT to protect Dante's blind side. He is a notch better than the talent there currently, but one never knows how he would have fit with Pancho and the crew. Crader and Wilson are solid tackles and starting them avoids the dropoff in efficiency that afflicts an entire O-line when transfer players are added. There is solid depth behind them. Incoming freshmen Iheanacho and Tofi are huge and talented kids, and it's possible that one (probably 'Nacho) could start inside at OG, or at least provide additional depth while they develop. Every day the O-line will match-up against four future NFL, and probably two first round, players in practice. That will expose any weaknesses so DL and the Law Firm can then adjust and shift personnel to get the best starting four around Pancho. Pregnon will be tough to replace, but World and Harkey maybe not so much. I'm 'glass half full' in my belief that the 2026 front can be as good, if not better, than the 2025 version.

No amount of $$ is worth it if a kid doesn't want to play here. We'll be just fine.

Seaton to LSU
I imagine that we got outbid. I don't know if we really need him. I doubt Dan flew to Atlanta just for dinner with him. If we needed him, or whomever we need to pull off a Natty... just spend the damn money and get it done. Easy for me to say... but if I were worth over 30 billion it might be even easier. Go Ducks... I am looking forward to next season eagerly.

Ducks in the Mix for โ26
I don't know about 'peaking' anymore. I think it is more about players knowing how to execute their assignments without making mistakes. That and getting ready to compete against better players when playoffs roll around.

QB Moga to New Mexico
Hey, he could have went to 'Action U', I mean the university of Akron Ohio. I grew up in the area. It was the place for high school players to keep playing if they weren't big enough to play at a real college. Novosad and Luke Moga could play at the smallest of venues and light up the conference - then go play on a real team their senior year. In today's world - actually not a bad strategy. It seems that the bad strategy these days is to sign with a big program that almost always gets its QBs from the portal.

Lane's war chest ain't Lame. O-line was one of LSU's biggest portal needs. LSU opens with Clemson. Week 3 at Ole Miss ๐, with road games against Kentucky, Auburn, Tennessee, and Arkansas. The games in Knoxville and Fayetteville are the final two games of the regular season. 5 SEC road games are a new thing for SEC teams. In addition to Clemson, LSU plays two cupcakes at home, Mississippi State, an earlier in the season Egg Bowl game, Texas A&M, Bama, and Texas. A far more difficult schedule than the one Kiffin played at Ole Miss last season. Even if QB Sam Leavitt stays healthy, I can see three and perhaps four or more losses. Kiffin is on a very short Natty leash. Good fortune for Seaton, but none for Kiffin.

Cignetti's Perfect TO
Underthrowing a ball into double coverage usually doesn't work out. To do that, you need a receiver who will adjust and fight for the ball instead of staying on his route and waiting for it to come to him. Either way, Beck still had time and he did not need to make that desperation attempt quite so early.
-
QB Moga to New Mexico
He's playing for a terrific coach in Jason Eck. Eck turned around UNM last season, including giving Michigan a battle in Ann Arbor. He was the coach at Idaho in 2023, when Idaho gave Oregon all it could handle. Eck played on the O-line for Barry Alvarez at Wisconsin. He was mentioned as a candidate for the Badgers' job before Fickell was given another season. Beginning in the FCS ranks, this is Eck's 28th season of coaching. Cignetti has opened the door for older guys stepping up to the Power 4. If Fickell doesn't improve Wisconsin this season, OBD could see Eck and Moga on the Wisconsin or other Big Ten sidelines. (Note: Fickell signed QB Colton Joseph from Old Dominion, so ... ๐ Joseph played his high school ball in Newport Beach, CA.)

Condoms and Cliff Notes to Advertise on Uni's?
As I read elsewhere, remember the 1995 Rose Bowl when Big Ten Champs Penn State refused to wear the Big Ten patch, and refused to wear the Rose Bowl patch? Apparently thought it messed up the tradition of their all-whites. It was controversial at the time. In subsequent years they relented. Now maybe they'll add a patch for Habbersett scrapple?

WSJ - Duke Sues Its Own Star Quarterback
This is a major event for CFB. It is precedent setting for all of us. If he is allowed to transfer after signing an agreement, then no contracts with any player is valid. The pay for play is bad now, wait and see how bad it gets if this case goes in favor of the player!
