Memphis Seeks Big12 Membership
From an article in The Athletic... "Big 12 athletic directors recently met on the idea, and conference presidents talked about it on Monday. But the determination was that the league is not interested. One source said there was “very little momentum for this,” and multiple league sources expressed concern that adding Memphis could “dilute” the league’s value in the next television deal."

Pretty good separation between No.9 USC and No.10 Washington, 53 points, I'd have the order reversed,

QUACK QUACK! Oregon Basketball Lands Commitment from European Center Ege Demir AND Yasir Rosemond Returns as a Coach
“His Euro numbers indicate he’s got a lot of practice work to do in rebounding, blocks and from the free throw line if he’s going to become a serious contributor.” You can’t teach humungousness!

Cal and Stanford are irrelevant as far as football goes, who is the head coach at Stanford now? The coach at Cal is some guy named Wilcox.

Ruh-Roh! Canzano/Beavis Delusion Goes "Woo-Woo"
Omigosh! In an article today where John Canzano complains about the meager earnings from the ACC, coupled with the terrible travel for Cal/Stanford athletes...John refers again to the quote he uses often to soothe the feelings of his Orange followers. It is meant to offer hope... JS: I keep coming back to what former Stanford coach David Shaw told me when USC and UCLA bolted to the Big Ten. Shaw said he believed geography would ultimately win. I think Cal and Stanford both end up in a conference (or division) that is anchored in the Pacific Time Zone. “My heart of hearts tells me that in some point of time this will self-correct,” Shaw told me. Mr. FD: He is not a good guy to quote John, because if Shaw knew WTH he was talking about... ....he would still be the coach at Stanford.

B1G Pre-Season Media Poll Ranking
Three seems fair. Penn State returns a ton on both sides of the ball and gets Oregon at home. osu2 has a 90+% blue chip ranking. Seems right to me. If Oregon finishes 3rd behind osu2 and Penn State, that still likely means a playoff birth.

Ducks Short On “Household Names”
Just maybe we have a young enough team that nobody told them they were not supposed to beat favored teams. We have speed, and size, add a little discipline and luck, and we can roll with most teams. I think we have solid talent, but we need some players to step up into starting roles and hold their ground on defense.

Oregon Ducks Practice Reports Updates, Etc. “2025” (5)
Checking in with the Oregon Ducks TE room ahead of the 2025 season Let's take a closer look at the tight-ends as we prepare for fall camp. The Oregon Ducks saw one of the best tight ends in program history, Terrance Ferguson, leave for the NFL after the 2024 season. Despite that, you'd be hard-pressed to find many fans who aren't arguably more excited to see what's to come at the position in 2025, with all due respect to Ferguson. It's Kenyon Sadiq season in Eugene, and expectations are high for the junior TE who has been touted as one of the best players on the team and one of the best tight ends in the nation. He's shown flashes of brilliance over the past two years, and now, as the clear-cut TE1 — and with a bigger role due to the Evan Stewart injury — the runway is clear for takeoff.
