Indiana coaches deep into the fine art of manufacturing outrage“I keep hearing about how we're smaller than them, how they're gonna maul us, and hopefully we got a fire lit up in us to take care of that and all the talk that’s happening.” #iufb IU Athletics pic.twitter.com/6duvKqJboa — Daniel Flick (@ByDanielFlick) October 10, 2025 Indiana defensive coordinator Bryant Haines even got into it with a fan on X, employing his best Samuel L. Jackson, saying in essence, "Allow me to retort." The very weird part of this exchange is that Nick Rodecap, the author of the "Indiana is giving away size" tweet is a reporter for the Indiana campus radio station WIUX. This is literally Hoosier-on-Hoosier crime. WSJ on Fernando Mendoza
Seems like quite a young man. Welcome to Autzen Stadium in the rain. I remember Jared Goff in his first collegiate start in Eugene. https://www.wsj.com/sports/football/fernando-mendoza-indiana-cal-2bd2445e?st=82S5oE&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink

Sources: Big Ten Mulling $2B Private Capital Deal
Yahoo with an update on B1G entering into a private capital agreement with California?🤔 https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/article/big-ten-nearing-decision-on-24-billion-deal-with-california-pension-investment-fund-in-landmark-move-within-college-athletics-170051033.html To my understanding, the current media deal led by Fox expires in 2029-30 and not 2037. Prior articles had the investor receiving a 5% profit-sharing deal through 2026-27, and not 10% of the equity in the to be formed Big Ten Enterprises. This is a different deal with a state-owned entity. I'm not sure this deal makes sense. Especially for Oregon with an Athletic Department in the Black. However, both the Michigan and Ohio State Athletic Departments are bleeding Red ink. Could OBD veto the deal? California Public Employee Pension Fund (PERS) is functionally insolvent. I can't tell whether the Department referred to in the article is the same department as PERS.

Dan Is OBD's Man!
The On3 article is behind a paywall, but can get the jest of the article on the Autzen Zoo. "I feel like I have the things necessary here to win. So how much money does a person need to make? What do you really need in your life?" "For me, I want to be in a place where I can win championships. I feel like we're close to that here. And then there is a level of loyalty to people that gave you an opportunity. Why should anybody ever trust me again if I, if I do leave here for something else?" Autzen ZooDan Lanning explains again why he's not going anywhereDan Lanning is so firmly committed to Oregon that they made it into a tee shirt.

A B1G Autzen Expansion? 'Not-So-Fast!'
I think it is clear....Mullens would not expand by 10K. A few thousand more--perhaps. He will want to leverage more suites and high-end opportunities which don't take much space, but generate revenue. I think 60K is tops, probably from 54K to 57K, and standing room...

A B1G Autzen Expansion? 'Not-So-Fast!'
Getting to 70,000 would be awesome, but is that even feasible or wanted in Eugene? Parking for 10k more? Would 10k more come from PDX to watch? Would prices go up or down?

A B1G Autzen Expansion? 'Not-So-Fast!'
Another thing to consider is how many more Duck fans are you going to bring in vs opposing fans. As a small population state, we’re likely close to maxed out on OBD fans but would easily bring in several thousand more opposing fans negating our raucous advantage.
