  1. Past hour
  2. Congrats, Brother Gat. You are now banned in Bristol and Birmingham! 🤬 According to posters in the post office, you are toast in Tuscaloosa. 😍
  3. I went SEC. What a bunch of serious whiners.
  4. The AP looks at how a loss in August tarnished the Domers. Hey, AP, this just in! In the NFL, a loss in September does not go away because it was a 'good loss,' the team that lost improves during the season, and come October, according to a committee of unaccountable experts, the team looks so good when winning. To Hades with the record, this team deserves to be in the PO! (Like Alabama and South Carolina last season, right?) AP NewsWhy did Notre Dame's August loss cost the Irish a playoff...The College Football Playoff selection committee's decision in 2025 has sparked controversy. Notre Dame was dropped from the playoff despite not playing last week.
  5. LOL. I just saw that Penn State plays Clemson in the Pinstripe Bowl. What should that game be called (e.g., “What Coulda Been Bowl”)?
  6. I voted SEC and I dont think Bama should have a spot in the playoffs.
  7. I'd just take the bowls, and use them to determine a G6 champion. That champion could get elevated for a season to a P4 conference, if they win the conference, promote them. It would never work in reality, but it'd be fun to see.
  8. Today
  9. I voted for Notre Dame, but if I was being honest, I should've voted SEC. I just can't, that would include me by affiliation😂.
  10. I'm just over the excuse making of what is meant to be the toughest league in football. Alabama didn't get punished for a third loss. We all know that there will be about ten SEC ranked teams to start the year. Losing one to them won't hurt, winning will help. You get praised for the wins, and excuses for losing to a now much higher ranked opponent.
  11. USC - Just completed year 4 with their coach and have zero playoff appearances or conference titles to show for it…yet still think they’re elite. I think we have pretty clear proof that in the 12 team playoff era, ANY P4 program can be successful within 2 years with the right investments and leadership. They keep failing without a shred of humility.
  12. •Notre Dame opted out of a bowl, they took their ball and went home. Join a conference, or try not to lose to the only good opponents you play. •SEC. You got five teams in, heck you got a three loss , non conference champion that got dominated in Atlanta. Yet you want Georgia to be number two, and you are crying because Texas, and Vanderbilt got left out. You got almost half the field!! On top of that, the winning coach of the SEC title game used his press çonference to complain about nine conference games, and how it's going to destroy the league . Again, you always get the benefit of the doubt!!! Why does my team have to be associated with this loser mentality? It makes us look soft. •USC can't handle the fact that Oregon is a better program right now. Despite the on field results. You need to realize Oregon isn't going anywhere. You tried to leave them behind, you tried to block their move to the B1G. Why? It helps save you some travel every year. • Oregon State/ Washington State, you have no relevancy. You are still crying about Oregon, and Washington leaving you behind. Facts are, you got left behind years ago. You just didn't care , because you could always say you were a Pac Ten/Twelve member. Meanwhile, programs with less , did more. Programs like TCU, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, Utah, and BYU. How come they were able to become attractive to join the Big Twelve, but you weren't?
  13. They aren’t the only program opting out of a bowl, the bowl system is completely dysfunctional and has been for years. Would I really want to see us play (and be enthusiastic about it) in the Vegas Bowl with half of our team if we had gone 9-3? It is time for the bowl system to go bye bye imo.
  14. I am not a ND fan, but I am ok with the decision. We will see a lot of bowl games (well, I won't because I don't like the glare of empty seats staring at me from my TV) wherein the teams/players just don't care. The three main reasons are money, NIL money and ESPN/FOX/network money. There are way too many bowl games and the playoffs have rusted these other games. Most schools lose money having to purchase x number of tickets which they can't sell and going to El Paso in January to cheer on a barely .500 team just isn't a dream of min.
  15. How about 30% not in the top 25! I remember the "experts" predicting which top ten team was most likely to be out of the top 25 by season's end, as it always happens to at least one team, and the Ducks led the charge.
  16. Notre Dame withdraws from bowl consideration following College Football Playoff snub The 10-2 Fighting Irish were the first team out in the final playoff bracket Iowa State and Kansas State are bowl eligible, but the two schools declined bowl invitations after undergoing coaching changes this week. Now they have both been fined for that decision. On Sunday, the Big 12 Conference announced that it has fined both schools $500,000. “While the Conference acknowledges the difficult timing around coaching changes, the Big 12 is responsible for fulfilling its contractual obligations to its bowl partners,” read a statement from the conference. Iowa State, Kansas State fined $500,000 by Big 12 for declining bowl invitations
  17. I believe Marcus Freeman is failing these young men and their decision to "take their ball and go home" I read that "the players agreed" to this. RIGHT HERE is where a good coach, a mentor to these young men, an influence in their lives needs to step up and have a heart-to-heart with these folks. I know the team has a lot of emotions about being left out and that debate can be had. The vast majority of these guys will NOT be playing on Sunday. The seniors on that team have played their last game. Marcus Freeman should have held a team meeting and addressed the emotions of being left out. He then should have told his team that they have one more chance to go to battle with their brothers, to finish this season on a high note as a team and go out together. Things don't always go your way in life. Your response to that is what shapes your character, resiliency, and attitude. This was the PERFECT example for Marcus Freeman to show these young man that adversity doesn't mean you have to quit. I already know the answer to my question, but can ANYONE here see DL letting this happen?
  18. Oregon's Playoff Path is Set - How Difficult Could it Be?On3Oregon's Playoff Path is Set - How Difficult Could it Be?Oregon's playoff path is set. They face James Madison on December 20th. How difficult is this draw for Dan Lanning and the Ducks?
  19. Listening to sports radio talk this morning. It is dominated by Notre Dame‘s decision to refuse to participate in any bowl games. Let them pout and stay home. No need to keep giving them airtime. All they had to do was not lose two games on their crappy schedule and they would be in. We have 12 teams that are in. I would rather hear about them than the losers in South Bend. P.s. Sorry for the Title Charles. 🫣🙄 Stolen from Will Ferrell from the movie “ Daddy’s Home.”
  20. I was always a bit surprised Neuheisel never found another coaching stop somewhere after UCLA but, at this point, he has now been gone 14 years and I think turns 65 in February. Jerry is now 33, so maybe he is thinking coach 3-5 years and hope to hand it off to his son? Chip is 62 and must not be ready to get out of the game. I took a look at available sources and it looks like since coming to Oregon, Chip has earned about $82 million. I would hope he only jumps back into college head coaching if he is over whatever that exit at UCLA was. Has that happened? It would be a concern I think in hiring him. 6 colleges had head coaches 64+ this year: Belichick (73), Ferentz (70), Keeler (66), Whittingham (66), Fritz (65), Cignetti (64), and Mora (64); and, 2/6 have been their schools 27 and 22 years. Overall only 11 coaches were 60+. Given those ages and all the recent changes to the college game, as an AD, I don't think I could pull the trigger on either; but, I think both could probably fill some seats. Last year, WSU only averaged about 24,300 in attendance, behind several of its new conference foes (Fresno State 41k, Boise State 37k, Oregon State 36k, Colorado State 33k, San Diego State 25k). I guess after good numbers to start the year, attendance tailed off and ended up lower (about 23,200). I think FCS Montana averaged over 26k a game (so it almost has to be a bit of a concern).
  21. Everything Oregon football head coach Dan Lanning said about the Ducks playoff matchup against James Madison Oregon head coach Dan Lanning met with the media on Sunday afternoon to go over Oregon's first-round matchup against James Madison in two weeks' time. Here is a full recap of what he said. Dan Lanning expects lively Autzen experience for CFP game: 'Our fans are going to be unbelievable' Oregon coach Dan Lanning told reporters on Sunday afternoon that he anticipates Autzen Stadium will be rocking for the opening round College Football Playoff game with James Madison.
  22. I live in the Harrisonburg area and several of my co-workers are JMU-alum, so it's sure to be an interesting couple of weeks, but I'm here for it! It's been plenty cold and nasty for the better part of the last month, including during their conference championship game Friday night. The weather won't be a factor, but the environment and the Autzen crowd will 100% affect them.

  25. Tell me preseason rankings don’t factor into a skewed perception of year end rankings. This is a perfect example of why any rankings should be thrown out the window. Play the games. Top 3-4 from each major conference. Then all the rest of conference winners get in as well. Just win and you’re in. Prove it on the field not with someone else’s eyeballs.
