Oregon opens as a slight underdog for road game at No. 2 Penn State The Ducks will be an underdog for the first time this season when they travel to Penn State for a week five Top 10 matchup.

As other have said, he has not adjusted to the current college football landscape and the game appears to be passing him by.

The one drive OSU scored it looked quite bad. I will say the Ducks turned around and made a point to take the run away. Right now we are all pursuing end of season perfection. Though we are not yet at the end of the season... Or even halfway.

I think we were all saying the same thing last year before Ohio State. The Ducks stepped up and took out a team that was better than us. Dan might be a master motivator but outside of ok State we haven't seen our Ducks play with their peek intensity yet. The Oregon offense has looked much better than last year's.

Oregon State had 147 yards of total offense. 67 rushing yards. And folks are saying we had poor run defense and need to play better. Hmmmmmm

I'm not sold on them. How many missed tackles did osu have? Plus, Purdue handed them that game with TOs, a pick 6 for 70 yds and an int in the endzone.

Their offense is good. Their defense is giving up close to three TD’S a game. Although, I think Michigan State’s offense is much improved from last season.

I think the coaching chess match between PSU and Oregon already started. PSU has been vanilla on offense. I also feel like Oregon gave PSU even less to look at this week than prior weeks. I even think Mixon hardly playing was our attempt to get PSU to forget about him so he can give Allar serious trouble. I feel like this will be a game that if you could repeat it multiple times you could get very different results. We'll play the game and players are going do what they do good or bad. Mistakes from the less experienced players are going to happen. Stein has to bring a plan that can succeed against Knowles' typical approach to suffocating our efficient short game. Lupoi has to do something different to shore up the run defense enough to get PSU off the field. I mean load up the box and force Allar and his WRs to beat our secondary consistently.

We are not performing well against genuinely weak teams. The Beavs? Montana State? Northwestern? And a somewhat crippled Oklahoma State? There's a real test ahead at Happy Valley. And Indiana is no slouch either, based on how they handled Illinois. Unless our defense can stop the run and our offense can run the ball against strong defensive teams, this is not going to be an easy schedule to navigate successfully.
