  1. Past hour
  2. A lot of empty seats at Michigan State trailing 38-13 to UCLA. They just added 6 (missed PAT) after UCLA put up 38 straight.
  3. WSU is shooting themselves in the foot this game and still up 14-10!! Ole Miss is Ole so average at best!!
  4. I thought the drive from Portland to Eugene was bad until I went to State College, PA. My goodness is that place in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE and they only have 2-3 hotels in town. Penn State somehow manages to pack the stadium with 100K+ (111K for the Oregon game) and reports 90K+ season ticket holders. I don’t understand. It seems to defy natural laws - like gravity.
  5. Old Miss not looking too excited about being #5. One has to think they pull away but WSU hanging around.
  6. Does the Weasel jr have something his padre was missing? Time will tell. BTW, Bama just took a 3 point lead, 20-17. Not the sort of game some expected.
  7. I always think about that horrible McAfee "trial" antivirus you have to immediately remove when cleaning up a "non tech savvy" family member or friend's pc: "Your pc is infected." "Did you know your pc is infected?" "Aren't you going to do something?" "C'mon man, can't you see you are infected!" "How many times do I need to tell you that you are infected?" 🙂
  8. UCLA leads 31-7 with four minutes left in 3rd quarter. Play calling is very good.
  9. That was a great turnout and they brought the energy early. One thing I was disappointed with (besides the seek of the guest picker) is the crowd didn’t sing along with Mat Kearney. That was one of the most impressive things about the Penn State game - the pageantry and everyone’s involvement.
  10. SEC is the deepest conference? Says who? They are getting exposed by WSU as average at best. Texas is average. Alabama and Mizz are playing an average game.
  11. Today
  12. I wish I was Pat McAfee's hair product salesman. Kaitlyn Olson was right when she referred to him as an "oaf' on the Gameday set last season.
  13. Wazzu I up 7-0 on Ole Miss in the 2nd quarter. They’ll find a way to “Coug” it though.
  14. Immediately as well, I thought, wait, how many red zone trips have the Duck defense faced this year so far? Went to the NCAA site but the search query comes back "No stats available." So had to dig elsewhere. Probably some intern tasked with finding a stat for McAfee to look well informed, when the intern really didn't really have the full knowledge to interpret the number? McAfee didn't bother to look further either; but, you know, entertainer and all. Looking else where, you find: Redzone defense scoring conversions allowed: #127 (tie) Indiana 100% #127 (tie) Oregon 100% #127 (tie) Missouri 100% #127 (tie) Utah 100% #127 (tie) Utah State 100% #127 (tie) Oregon State 100% #127 (tie) Virginia Tech 100% #127 (tie) South Alabama 100% #127 (tie) Rice 100% #127 (tie) Charlotte 100% However, fewest redzone scoring attempts per game allowed: #1 Indiana: 0.8 #2 (tie) Oregon: 1.3 #2 (tie) Utah: 1.3 #4 Oklahoma 1.5 I would say this would be more the proper way to present this stat? I mean, why single out it as a negative for Oregon when Indiana has the exact same number and rating?
  15. Yeah, first question I asked myself when he said that was, how many red zone trips have there been? Thanks for the info. Guessing it was more of an ignorant take from someone that doesn’t ever prep. The bigger disappointment to me is no one else on the crew calling it out. 6 red zone trips in total almost half-way through the season is an absurdly good stat.
  16. Illinois is solid this year, no question about it. They’ve handled the middle of the pack teams pretty well and they’re sitting at 5-1 for a reason. But that atrocious lost to Indiana is telling. Games like that, or this game against Ohio State show where the line still is. It’s 10-0 right now, and you can already feel the difference in depth, speed, and execution. Illinois plays hard and they’re disciplined, but they’re not quite built yet to hang four full quarters with a number one team. They can punch above their weight for a while, but eventually the talent gap shows. They’re good, just not ready for the big time matchups yet. What makes things worse is that Ohio State is really not playing their best right now in this game. If they get things together this could be a very long day for fans in Champaign. Since crafting this message, it looks like Ohio state is ready to score again.
  17. UCLA's interim staff is making a statement for the perminant gig. They have that team playing to win right now. I think it's certainly making their coaching search more difficult.
  18. Indiana has faced two B1G defenses. They torched Illinois for over sixty points but struggled for about three and a half quarters at Iowa. They were trailing until Mendoza threw the game winning score late in the fourth. They scored twenty on a defense not nearly as dynamic in both athletic ability and depth of options for pressure packages due to the secondary. Oregon will be able to get pressure on Mendoza unlike anything he's seen. Cignetti is incredible, but I saw his team just get whipped against the two teams that compare to Oregon. This years team is more talented, but they aren't at the Oregon level. Plus traveling across country for an environment louder than Kinnick. Oregon wins 34-20 Mendoza gets sacked three times. There are two turnovers forced. Moore throws for 256 yards.
  19. It may be pitch black outside when the cameras start rolling, but there is a reason that ESPN's "College GameDay" keeps coming back to Eugene, Oregon, year after year. The crowd brings the electricity, and it is routinely among the best environments in all of college football. "GameDay" made its 13th appearance on Oregon's campus on Saturday morning ahead of the top-10 showdown between the No. 2 Oregon Ducks and No. 7 Indiana Hoosiers. This elite matchup will give one team an inside track to the Big Ten Championship Game and the College Football Playoff. Both teams have impressive wins over ranked teams like the Illinois Fighting Illini and Penn State Nittany Lions. However, we are still looking for another "prove-it" opportunity for the Ducks and the Hoosiers before crowning them true national championship favorites. While the game is going to be electric later today, the crowd brought the energy early on, with signs and chants that reverberated through the TV. Here's a look at the top signs and moments from Saturday morning: That Eugene 'GameDay' Crowd Top Oregon Ducks signs and moments from ESPN's 'College GameDay'
  20. UCLA is off to a good start vs. Michigan State. Neuheisel calling a fake punt and going for on 4th and one from the 4 yd line. 17-7.

  22. Thanks for providing that...as context is crucial. Maybe this could provide a little bulletin-board material for Tosh today?
  23. Numbers point a clear route to an Oregon victoryErik Skopil of 247Sports notes that while Fernando Mendoza completes 78 percent of his passes with a clean pocket, that falls to 48 percent under pressure. Autzen ZooNumbers point a clear route to an Oregon victoryTo slow the rhythm of one of college football's most productive offense. Oregon has to do three things.
  24. I see that Ohio State has a 10-0 lead in late first quarter, and Alabama and Missouri are tied, 7-7.
  25. Oregon! Well four out of five did, with Des Howard, Sabrina, Nick Saban and Kirk Herbstreit going with the Ducks, while Pat McAfee admitted his wife was a Hoosier, so he went that way. In the end....that is nice, but their picks don't matter; the same number picked against us vs. Penn State, so we gotta get it done today!
