5* OL Visiting Oregon
We could really use Jordan Seaton. He certainly has a lot of places to consider, but Oregon has shown the ability to put a lot of OL into the NFL, so maybe we have a good chance. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/01/18/oregon-football-jordan-seaton-transfer-visit/88243681007/

Oregon D-Line Issues?
I read somewhere in the last 24 hours that the starters for Indiana average 4.1 years, and Miami 4.3 years in their college career experience. Aside from physical maturity, I do think that helps the "smarts" of both teams. I believe it was a factor for Indiana's defense in opponent's tendencies and play recognition, and communication within the Hoosier 11.

Holy Hoosiers! Six Degrees of Seperation? How about One Degree?
FWIW and if so not much. Should Indiana win the Natty, then Indiana would join UCLA as the ONLY schools to have an undefeated Natty in football and an undefeated Natty in basketball . Hoosiers undefeated football and national title season came in 1954 if my info is correct. No small task! GO IU!

Holy Hoosiers! Six Degrees of Seperation? How about One Degree?
Preseason No. 10 Miami versus Preseason No. 20 Indiana for all of the CFB marbles. Who knew? NEMO = Latin for 'Nobody.' COINCIDENCE - Two or more events coming together in a surprising, unexpected way ... Of course, with both Miami and Indiana theoretically in the running for a title matchup, Monday night's championship game is not outside the probability of happening, but it's close. If you could have placed a preseason $1000 bet on the Canes vs. the Hoosiers playing for a title, you could be in Hawaii today, shopping for an ocean and golf view condo. In October of 2024, with the College GameDay crew in Berkeley for its first visit to Cal, Mendoza went up against Mario Cristobal and 2024 Heisman Trophy finalist quarterback Cam Ward. Mendoza, pressured on 43% of his drop-backs, threw for 285 yards and two TDs, leading Cal to a 25-point lead. Cal lost, 39-38. But among others, Indiana's new coach, Curt Cignetti, with Fernando's brother Alberto on the Hoosiers squad, took notice of Fernando's performance. ... Fernando's Dad, Doctor Fernando Mendoza, Sr., was on the crew team at Brown University. His Mom, Elena, graduated from Miami, where she was a star tennis player and earned undergraduate and MBA degrees. ... Doctor Mendoza played high school football at Miami's Christopher Columbus High School. He played on the O-line with Miami coaches Mario Cristobal and Alex Mirabal. Seven Christopher Columbus graduates will be on the champ game sidelines. ... Angelo Pizzo wrote the screenplays for the movies 'Hoosiers' and 'Rudy.' Pizzo grew up one mile from the Indiana campus in Bloomington. Like his Dad, Pizzo graduated from IU, attended all the Indiana games with his father through mostly bad times, and has been an Indiana football season ticket holder since his graduation. Among many others, Angelo knows that you can't make this stuff up. ... Oregon D-Line Issues?
I don't know why so many of the D line backups have left. Could it be money? Could it be playing time? Did the staff feel that those guys are not top notch? We are not going to know those answers. My guess is that when players are in the system for a couple of years and they are not the stars like they were in high school, they start thinking the grass might be greener somewhere else. But also consider this: in the past seasons under Lanning, he brought in transfers that beat out the current players on the team. What does that tell you? I won't make a call on it until I see how well the transfers are playing at other teams, if they get on the field.

Clemson TE Markus Dixon Commits to Oregon
Definitely a depth piece. Johnson is returning and will be a beast. Olesh from PSU has lots of potential but will need to learn the system. Plenty of time for that for sure. Kendre Harrison is massive at 6'7" but will need to put on some eight for sure as an incoming freshman. With only three tight ends the room was going to be thin. But adding another will definitely create some depth. I'm surprised that Vander Ploog and Roger Saleapaga both opted for the portal when Sadiq was moving on and Johnson was the only returning starter and Harrison was the incoming frosh. Lots of space for them to carve out roles for themselves with expirenced in the Lanning system.
