  2. Jordon is a beast. It hurts tackling guys with thighs like tree trunks. Looks like he could have played as a lineman for many high school teams.

  4. 10 years ago this would have been HUGE. In 2025 this is just the next step/transition that won’t matter with the next expansion of the playoff, IMO.
  5. I suspect the the BIG will agree to the 5+11 model now, assuming the ACC follows suit and goes to 9 conference games. As part of this, SEC teams will be required to play at least 1 P4 game OOC as well, so that is a win. I really wish we could get to a place where each league plays 9 conference games with 2 OOC games against the other P4 + one G5 team. Drop the FCS teams all together. Let’s play games that matter and help sort out the imbalance in the sport.
  6. I don't trust the word alliance in a college football context.
  7. Yet again, the SEC talks the 9-game talk, but where's the walk? SEC fans and sites are celebrating the PO committee using a new metric to determine SOS. The metric's programming will not be revealed by the committee. The CBB committee makes all of it the metrics it uses public knlowledge and if ranking or seeding does not follow, the CBB folks explain why they varied from the metric. But the NCAA owns the CBB Tournament. ESPN owns the CFB Playoffs. If the metric's programming uses ESPN's FPI SOS ranking, with 15 SEC teams in the top 25, why would the SEC move to 9-games? Unless the SEC, with the committee using this metric, believes the B1G will support the 5-11 PO format. If this is the case, Tony Petitti and the B1G IT folks, better require a full disclosure of the metric's programming and how the committee intends to use the metric. In Sankey I do not trust.

  9. Going to be rough to keep them off the field. I think it's going to be tough to keep any of our backs off the field for that matter. If they don't see the field too much this season they'll have a clear path to lots of play next year as there will be several graduations.

  12. Maybe Justin is just not aware of her problems? Could be an info source issue which he’ll have to correct now that AOL dial-up is closing down.
  13. Which freshmen might we see play, no specifics. Dan Lanning anticipates Oregon will see true freshmen play and make an impact this season
  14. If this does end up happening I'm gonna wonder how will the SEC handle future non-conference scheduling, but if our conference manages to get an alliance with the SEC I'm excited to see what teams could we force to come to Autzen during the first 3 weeks of the upcoming seasons.
  15. Whoa! We know that newbie Dierre Hill is fast, but he is up to 205 pounds. Isn't that thunder, instead of lightning? Then I saw the stats on freshman Jordan Davison, as he is 6'0" and 236 pounds? (Shades of Blount!) Lanning: "I'm starting to call them thunder and lightning. Man, like Jordan Davison and Dierre Hill are going to be special players here for a long time," he said. "I'm really excited about them and their development, and that whole RB room." Remember, as much fuss I've been making about Dierre Hill, we cannot overlook Jordan Davison as he was a Rivals 5-Star running back from Mater Dei. In the past...getting a 5-Star running back would have been ALL we would have been talking about in reference to recruiting. This year--he was almost an after-thought. And he was the Max-Preps POY for the state of California! Jordan Davison-Good gosh, what a Group! Whoa! Perhaps not Blount, but looks more like Jonathan Stewart?
  16. Great insight into OBD's status for this season and next. Just 2 things jump out for me in reaction to your well-considered study: Given the combination of inexperience and injuries, I think how well our offensive skill positions (RB and WR) perform are the biggest factor in the team's success this season. At all other position groups, the Ducks are looking solid. That number of likely starting player losses is daunting for sure. On the other hand, Lanning and his staff have continued to secure very highly rated signing classes. In my eye, the coaching staff has raised the bar on the team's performance with each successive class coming into their playing time. While there will be a lot of unfamiliar names moving into starting positions next season, I have faith that those dudes can play and that the Ducks will continue to roll.
  17. Oregon head coach Dan Lanning is bullish on this year's running back room. He expects more to be involved than in previous years. Dan Lanning on this year's running backs: 'I really love this group'

  19. Ohio State has never lost to a B1G team in a conference game either. They only get beat by themselves. If you don't believe me ask their fans.

  21. We invite you to always explore the “News” on the menu bar in the header. When you click on the word “News,” you will see an index of multiple links to sports news sites for your enjoyment! During the football season, podcasts were included with the game for that week. Podcasts still are taking place, just not as often. I also have noticed that the podcasts now are covering more than just football. For instance, the one following includes some talk about basketball. Those podcasts will now be posted under this thread as they occur. To see the previous podcast thread click Here as we will keep the thread to no more than 50 podcasts at a time. Check back often for some informative listening. This Thread is for Podcasts ONLY. You can always start a new thread with any of these podcasts for discussion.
  22. LOL. Oregon football enters the 2025-26 season as the defending B1G football champion. In fact, Oregon has never lost a B1G conference football game and has never finished lower than first place in the conference. I know that doesn’t make any difference heading into this season but no other B1G team (including the mighty Buckeyes or Wolverines) can say this and it’s hilarious that Oregon can make that claim after the B1G nearly passed on the University of Oregon during conference realignment in favor of the LA schools. Go Ducks. Defend that B1G football title!!! Back-to-back champions sounds nice.
  23. This year's schedule is pretty easy, although within reason you only need to be elite in December and January. Also, top tier teams always have one and done rosters because of the starting talent, depth and portal. It's the new normal. Almost nobody is good enough to start more than one season on these elite teams.
  24. Georgia's 'Dawn of the Dawg' is on board with the metric's use, mainly benefiting the SEC. Greg Sankey's propaganda and ESPN's broadcast money appear to be paying off. The metrics the committee intends to use for SOS and Sor should be disclosed and commented on before being adopted by the PO committee. Dawn of the DawgGeorgia owes the College Football Playoff committee a big...The College Football Playoff committee did not have very many fans at the conclusion of the 2024 season. This was especially the case from fans of the SEC as ma
