  2. DM - Miami's most significant win came in the opener, 27-24 over Notre Dame. Miami also has wins over the ranked at the time USF, and Florida when Billy Napier was still the head coach. All wins at home. The Canes suffered a home loss to now unranked Louisville and on the road at SMU. Carson Beck had four interceptions against Louisville. SMU was a late-game meltdown. SMU only won due to a stupid post-whistle roughing the passer penalty by Miami. Miami has two road games left to play. This Saturday at VA Tech, and the regular season final game at Pitt. Miami still has a shot at the ACC title game, especially if Pitt can defeat Georgia Tech on Saturday. I think it's ridiculous for the PO committee to have 10-2 Notre Dame ranked 9th and 10-2 Miami 13th because, per the committee chair, 'ND has better losses.' A head-to-head loss is a 'better loss?' Everything in CFB has morphed toward the NFL except for the manner in which the PO is chosen and seeded. Tony Petitti's proposed PO format would take the majority of teams selected for the PO field out of the committee's hands.
  3. Cristobal and Franklin are two sides of the same coin. Cristobal has shown he can win those big top 10 match ups. Think Oregon v Ohio State and then lose to an unranked team in the most embarrassing way possible... Think Oregon losing to Stanford in the same season. You can make the same comparisons with this year's Miami team I just don't remember the wins and losses off the top of my head. Franklin wins the games he's supposed to and loses the top 10 big games. If they could put the two together they'd have a darn good coach.

  5. I feel like the seeding and format still need to be tweaked. Oregon should've gotten a home game in round two. They also should've gotten the lowest rated opponent, I realize Ohio State was the lowest seed. But we all knew they were rated ahead of Boise and ASU. The CFP needs to give the highest rated team in round two, the lowest remaining seed. The NFL does this, so if the 12 seed, 11 seed, 10 seed, or 9 seed beats their opponent, they need to be sent to the appropriate opponent. If Oregon wins as the sixth seed, and North Texas beats Texas Tech. North Texas needs to be sent to a higher rated opponent.

  8. My personal druthers tend to agree with TD’s assessment, but I also want to think that uniform choice - especially for high profile games - is primarily calculated on Nike and AD interview responses with high school athletes regarding the Oregon uniform characteristics they prefer. Otherwise, you could easily end up looking like Maryland did a few years back.
  9. Hello My OBD FishDuck Forum Friends! What is your prediction of Oregon versus USC? Take your shot and let's have fun with it... Let's get these predictions started, and remember I look for the differential between your predicted points with both teams from the actual points. I will use the tiebreaker information when needed, so provide all the data below! Entries without ALL the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count. We Have Two New Rules: If two winning scores are tied, and tiebreakers tie? The first one who posted wins, automatically. TerryM9 gets 42-6 locked in every time as his. (I love this guy!) Please follow directions, as I need all that is below for tiebreakers: --the winner --the score --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team --the number of passing yards by the Ducks. My prediction is: Oregon 38-24 1 2 251
  10. There was so much on a Trojan pay-board, but you will enjoy these morsels. "Overrated Quacks: Seriously, who have they beat? A plodding Iowa team…….barely……The last two legit really good teams they have faced beat the brakes off them and were clearly better. Conference foes not even SEC programs. I said @ beginning of the season they’d lose to Indiana and UW. Everything about Autzen is a gimmick outlier but I think this SC team can pull it off." 2011 USC Victory at Autzen: "I’ll take Riley over that version of Lane and Chip over that cringey dork Laniel Danning." "The (Oregon) offense does not look great. They simply don't have a good receiving core." "You can count on a Lanning goofball decision such as an onside kick or fake punt that goes wrong." "I feel good about our chances...Btw, Quacks are playing two frosh corners." "Zeros haven't beaten anyone great yet. And lost to the one top team they did play.. (IND)." "Besides all the obvious reasons, I also want to beat the quacks to wipe that arrogant smirk off Lan Danning's face." "Oregon has maxed out. Ducklings are going to be wondering why they can't finish a season much in the same way Georgia did with Mark Richt or Penn St with Franklin." "Easily the most delusional fan base on the West coast.(Oregon) After all the years of smack and back and forth, the TRUTH came out when USC decided to go to the B1G. The Quacks were in the middle of building their 5th Meth lab when the alarm sounded. Bottom line, they FOLLOWED Daddy to the B1G. They knew they were not in a position to lead the PAC 12/10, nor would they be able to attract anyone meaningful to the conference. This was a reality check for the Quacks and we are their most hated rival because they left the civil war to follow USC." "They followed us like dogs and, if realignment hits again, they'll be on their hands and knees again begging and selling themselves to go where we go once more." "They (Oregon) aren’t a rival. We already have two of those. They’re more of an annoying, championship-less, obstacle rather than a rival." "Oregon is a former Pac-12 team, so SC is their Super Bowl. Realignment was never gonna change that." "I really can’t understand how fans from a championshipless team, let alone fans from that garbage state can talk any smack." "Since Lanning came into the Pac-12 and walked into the cupboard of talent that Cristobal left, he has underachieved with the most talent in the Pac-12. Let’s not forget that Oregon has been ahead of the NIL game too. He’s a young coach so I’m not going to write him off yet but it’s getting close. Oregon has recruited really well the last couple of years, and that includes with Cristobal who took Helton’s lunch money. They have no more excuses why they’re a championship-less program." A rational USC fan? "With the current state of the SC defense, their chances of beating Ducks in Autzen are slim and none. And slim is about to walk out the door."
  11. The next two games for everybody will sort a lot of things out. I am hoping for a first round home game and not a bye. Let Ohio St and Indiana beat the snot out of each other. Ducks need to take the next step and win a playoff game. After that first one, I don't care who or where they play. They will be ready if they make it to the next level.
  12. "I see Franklin as very similar to Cristobal." Interesting point. Certainly as far as results are concerned. Both will mess it up when it counts. But Franklin is very mediocre - will beat down lesser teams but NEVER beat a better team. Cristobal can make a team look like it has a title shot - and then lose to inferior competition. As a fan, I really cannot decide which would be more frustrating. Here is another comparison for ya: Willie the Snake as very similar to Prime Time!

  19. Jon Sousa the salesman lied to you. Hope you didn't buy the black clothing. You should wonder why school busses are yellow and highway construction workers wear yellow or orange. I suggest that you google this: "In daylight is a yellow object more visible than a black object?" Here's the response: "Yes, in daylight, a yellow object is more visible than a black one . Yellow is highly eye-catching and one of the most visible colors to the human eye, especially under daylight conditions, which is why it is used for safety equipment and school buses. A black object is less visible because it absorbs most wavelengths of light, whereas a yellow object reflects yellow light, making it stand out against most backgrounds." So our QB's can see receivers wearing yellow more easily than when they wear black. Amazingly the next most visible color - green.
  20. Wow, who knew? Now all we need is to find that black with green accents is the most visible combination possible! Go Ducks!
  21. I have been a bicycle rider for years, and once I commented to a guy selling riding clothing at a bike shop about how much riding clothing is black (especially the pants)... and I thought the same as you. You want to be seen on the road. The guy replied to me that studies have shown that black is easier to see during the day. There are fewer accidents with black bike clothing than any other color. On a sunny day, black is easy to see.

Rece Davis hypes up Oregon-USC Big Ten title eliminator game with surprising predictionRece Davis hypes up Oregon-USC Big Ten title eliminator g...The loser of the Oregon-USC game is all but effectively out of the Big Ten title race, which excites ESPN's Rece Davis despite not calling the game this Saturday. CBS gets the honors on game day.
  24. Nice history lesson Darren! It’s an entertaining bonus to be the “little brother” that (unlike Beavis) can annoyingly out do “big brother” at his own game. Flushing the Troylets is a gift that keeps on giving.
  25. OBD has the No. 1-ranked pass defense in the nation. The best passing offense OBD has faced is No. 22 Rutgers. Most of OBD's opponents to date have been passing game impaired. USC comes into Autzen with the No. 10 pass offense. OBD's red zone defense has been Code Red, missing in action. SC's O is 9th in Red Zone scoring. Run Game - OBD 2336 Yds - 9.4 per rush/ USC 2418 Yds - 8.7 per rush Both teams are being cagey regarding injured players. Safety Kamari Ramsey is a key player for SC. It is uncertain whether Ramsey, starting guard Elijah Paige, and RB Waymond Jordan will be able to play. As to OBD's wounded, fingers crossed. Trash the Trojans!
  26. There is a church camp, Camp Myrtlewood, near there, I used to joke with people when giving directions that you go 5 miles past Remote and turn left (literally).
