  2. I will not dump on one SEC grad dissing on the Ducks without giving credit to Alabama grad Greg McElroy. Greg was effusive in his praise for both OBD and Iowa for the battle they engaged in in Iowa City. No SEC nonsense here. Greg's Always College Football podcast can be viewed on YouTube and is on several ESPN channels on Tuesday before the PO rankings show. GRIND the GOPHERS!

  4. Before last Saturday's game I suggested that one difference you would see would be the physical nature of Iowa DB's in covering receivers. They seem to body-up on receivers then dare the refs to call pass interference. Feeling, the refs won't call them all, so take the chance. Due to the weather, there were not a lot of passes thrown, especially into coverage, so that didn't really materialize. I do believe they missed holding calls. In both cases, I think there is a philosophy within conferences with an emphasis of what will be called, and what will be "let them play." I believe we also saw it with Pac12 basketball which was more attuned to calling fouls (except in McKale Arena) in comparison to other conferences. I believe it hurt Pac12 teams when they got to the tournament to try to adapt to rougher play.
  5. Bummer, she played great on defense too.
  6. Former Oregon and NFL offensive lineman, Geoff Schwartz, breaks down some plays from the Iowa game showing some good and bad.
  7. Given the relative fair number of top-end losses the SEC has out of conference in 2025, it gets a bit more hypocritical than usual. If Georgia loses to GaTech we’d have Georgia, Alabama, and Texas all having OOC losses. Given how these teams have dominated in the SEC, one could argue the SEC is a top-heavy conference dominated by unproven teams that didn’t dominate out of conference. Oh, throw in WSU taking Ole Miss to the wire, the same Cougs that lost to Beavis. How is this the clear-cut best conference in 2025?
  8. Great post and comments. On the other hand, the Back Judge in Indiana at Penn State was in the perfect position to make the TD call on the winning toe-tap catch. Great comment by DM. I prefer refs letting things go over watching a flag fest. B1G Policy - "Coach submission: Coaches can send plays with questionable calls to the Big Ten's coordinator of officials." Coaches can also stay up on Christmas Eve to see if Santa shows up. 😁
  9. sUCLA, USuC, mutts, and Oregon musta brought some of that "Crap-12" officiating east with them. What do we call the officiating now? "B1G Crap"?
  10. Our defense is the opposite of bend don't break this year. I'm not sure what it is called but I think it is intentional. Our team is fast enough and good enough in the secondary that we play more aggressive in some ways that leave us more vulnerable to occasional dagger plays, but on the whole is very effective.
  11. The defensive stats are amazing but for some reason the defense doesn’t seem as dominant as they indicate. I wonder if it’s the result of a few key plays/drives over the course of the game? They seem to have trouble closing out some games (e.g., Penn State, Iowa) after absolutely dominating the majority of the game. In the Iowa game it was a result of a couple of pass coverage breakdowns by LBs and the safeties, and a bad defense call on 4th and goal.
  12. I apologize if I offended anyone.
  13. Will the Grapevine Gurus keep Iowa in the top 25? Will one-loss Texas Tech, with a loss to ASU, stay ahead of one-loss OBD? Tune in tonight, and may I suggest you do so with the sound off, at least when Joey Galloway opens his trap. 🤪 Oregon Ducks On SICollege Football Playoff Rankings Shake Up After Week 11With week 11 in the rearview mirror, another top-25 ranking from the College Football Playoff Selection Committee is set to be released on Tuesday. No. 8 Texas
  14. So you're saying OREGON hass more PHYSICALITY than Miami, and is more cerebral than UW?
  15. True, but we will get some strong clues from he B1G championship game.
  16. But Washington jumped around at Wisconsin just like Oregon did... Shouldn't that result in a win for them?
  17. Sir Charles thank you for accumulating these revealing numbers. If this team can discipline themselves and complete drives that end up in points then the defense will do the job needed to win out and beyond..... Bring the DOMERS to Eugene for a first round playoff game. Hopefully the BIG will tone down the bias and put a leasch on the refs. Saturday's crew needs a 1 game suspension. Now is the time for more improvement and statement games. GO DUCKS!
  18. This article is just small piece of a larger narrative that the SEC and Notre Dame homers are pushing for their own playoff status. It’s a campaign to influence the playoff committee. The more they beat the drum about Oregon’s “weak” schedule the more everybody starts to believe it. They’re counting on Oregon losing one more game, so they can get them pushed out of the playoffs and replaced by a 3-loss SEC team. It makes it easier to justify Notre Dame’s spot. It’s also their way of making the B1G look like a weak conference. Want to see proof? Listen to the take from B1G alum Joey Galloway.
