  1. Past hour
  2. I didn't mean to imply that Franklin was a bad coach, he isn't. He is the kind of coach who can take an experienced roster and give anyone trouble, especially at home. The Ducks are going to be on their webbed toes and maybe catch a break of two to prevail in Happy Valley.
  3. As the saying goes, "Give me Liberty, and a Super Regional."
  4. I highlight this because Penn State has the kind of experienced roster that Michigan and Ohio State had in 23 and 24; maybe not quite as talented but very experienced. So I think that the Lions will be a tough out for everybody in the B1G. But...Franklin is no where near the coach as Harbaugh was and Cryin Day is. So who knows? Oregon is very talented guys but not experienced at the offensive skill positions--they are a big question mark for me this year. Honesty compels me to feel somewhat the same queasiness when assessing the Dawgs fortunes this year in the SEC. I guess we'll just have to wait to see what unfolds.
  5. So many twists and turns, and this Ducks team DOES NOT GIVE UP. Stanford went up 4-0 on a first inning grand slam by Economides after Ducks dropped a 2 out pop fly. UO’s Flannery then hits a 3 run blast in 2nd inning to make it 4-3. Economides gets makes her Stanford RBI total 7 with a 3rd inning 3 run dinger. 7-3 Furd. UO’s Cox hits 2 run HR to atone for her earlier 2 out dropped pop fly. 7-5 Furd Ducks start chipping away. Ke. Luschar gets on board from a swinging strike 3, after advancing from a few hitters, comes around to score after a passed ball then an interference play at the plate even though throw beat her . Houston is removed from game, best pitcher in the stadium at the time. 7-6 Furd after 5. Patmon triples to right to open the Ducks’ 6th. After 2 strikeouts, Kai Luschar speeds out an infield single to tie it. 7-7. Ducks get out of a 2 runner jam in 7th. Huge tip of the cap to Chambers for 4.1 innings of 2 hit no run ball. UO’s Sinicki singles with 1 out in 7th. Steals 2nd then advances to 3rd after throwing error. Stanford intentionally walks Cox. Then Patmon blasts a walk off 3 Run HR to advance the Ducks to the Super Regional 10-7. I believe UO is now 41-0 when hitting an HR. Since Liberty upset #1 seed Texas A&M, word is Ducks will host Liberty.
  6. Yes, so many moments, so many heroics, but it was Staci’s 4+ innings that kept us in it and allowed the offense to chip away.
  7. I can't think of another win that had me as happy immediately as this one, against Stanford! A grand Slam in the 1st? Then she hits a 3 run homer, and our All-B1G10 first base gets creamed by a line drive? It didn't look good, folks. But Lombardi, maybe it's just coach speak, "They never give up". They sure didn't
  8. Pretty cool, had to come back multiple times, only time they had the lead was the at the end. Great work by Chambers coming if for Grein who didn't have it again.
  9. I actually believe that will happen this year. In fact, those were my thoughts before this discussion came up.
  10. Today
  11. I saw that Oregon leads the B1G conference championships race for the academic year. 8 of 28 Ohio State comes in at No. 2 with ... 4 I think there are some B1G regrets out there for sure.
  12. A seeded as ranked 16-team PO field in 2024-25, with no spots guaranteed for any conference would have been: 16. Clemson at 1. Oregon 9. Boise State at 8. Indiana 13. Miami at 4. Penn State 12. ASU at 5. Notre Dame 15. South Carolina at 2. Georgia 10. SMU at 7. Tennessee 14. Ole Miss at 3. Texas 11. Alabama at 6. Ohio State 6 SEC/ 4 B1G/ 3 ACC/ 1 G6, Independent, B12 The B12 doesn't want two teams assured to be in the field? The 8 conference game, 2 Blue Chip Roster ACC would have had three participants, plus Notre Dame. If the ACC wants an assured three teams in the field, require ND to become a football member, and then three in is fine. Even though the ACC went 0-2 in 2024-25. Notre Dame and Boise State were the two PO teams in 2024 that played four or more G6 opponents. And there is no justification for the ACC to play only eight conference games. Power 2: Tell the Peanut Gallery to pipe down.
  13. Welp. Dang. No reason they shouldn’t be a top end program and honestly no reason they shouldn’t beat Oregon and tOSU.
  14. The Luchar sisters back to back in the lineup worked, and they field too. McCoy stopped being a freshman a long time ago. But will the Ducks have an answer to Houston?
  15. Yeah I wouldn't mind some games up in Portland, I live in Eugene, but it would be a good way to stay connected to the Portland fanbase. Hillsboro is a bit out there, but it would still probably do well in attendance.
  16. You know, a case could be made, so I will. Day to me wins because, when, he has superior talent. Franklin apparently wins with far less talent. Coaching" Franklin> Day
  17. Yep, rubber match coming right up. Glad that Oregon got the big win today and not Stanfurd. Go Ducks!
  18. Now 15-5 at the end of 6. Following online. Run rule?
  19. Oregon run rules Stanford 15-5! On to night game, winner takes all to advance.
  20. 12-5 Ducks headed to 6th. Could be up more.
  21. They added, on paper, three good receivers from the portal. Spot on comment. Versus Notre Dame, no PSU WR caught a pass.
  22. This has been as plain to see as the nose on my face (I have a big nose!). I am shocked that the issue of non-revenue sports attrition hasn't emerged earlier as a Title IX issue if nothing else.
  23. Mario beat essentially the same team Lanning defeated... When that unit was comprised of freshmen. Including a frosg QB that blossomed enough OBD world have lost horribly later in the year ( that was the second game of they year). In essence, the entire front seven in 22' was the same unit as last year. Lanning also exploited the edge in his Eugene game like Mario did ( Ohio State fixed up and promptly shut that down in the Rose Bowl). Mario basically caught a young team at the right time. Freeman has played Ohio State better because they have better talent. They are much more clutch on defense because they have better talent. They even forced Allar into the game winning INT. Penn State hasn't done that to teams because they don't have that kind of talent. That Franklin keeps games close against superior teams speaks volumes. They don't have the talent to stay that close. They just don't. I'm sure nobody in the nation expected Penn State to be in a position to beat OBD last year. No one. That's a testament to Franklin. They had no business getting a drive to win the game, yet they were there. Just like far superior Ohio State in Eugene. When I discuss this with PSU fans, they bring up the chokes. Bi say you can't choke if you can't take control of a game. Penn State can't control games against superior talent. They haven't, and just like Indiana last year, it eventually shows up. Franklin made Vandy look legit. Most coaches can't come close to matching that kind of performance . As Auburn and Florida ( not to pick on you), and Tennessee have learned. Talent matters. A whole lot. We're just going to disagree here. Respectfully. I simply believe James Franklin is the kind of coach to keep a contender like those teams I mentioned from falling behind like they have. He's that good.
  24. Yesterday
  25. Freshman goes yard with 3 run HR. Ducks up 6-2 in 2nd, chase Furd’s starter from game.
