I would recommend checking out the Moshofsky Center, aka the Mo Center, before the game. They have food, beer, games for kids, screens with other football games on and the band/cheerleaders. The Duck might make an appearance and I’ve seen him at tailgates well before the game. As others mentioned, the team will walk through a couple of hours before kickoff. There is some really good craft beer in Oregon. You might even see some fall foliage that time of year. Be sure to check out the Duck shop, which is attached to the Mo Center to get a souvenir/shirt for you son. Have a great time!

Oregon's So-So Running Backs: Will Davison Grab the Top Spot?
I am thinking the same thing. Let’s be honest - Hughes has not looked like anything special when he’s been on the field. There is a reason he didn’t get any carries until the 4th quarter in the Civil War Game with the 2s and 3s. He should probably redshirt this year (if he still has one available) and then transfer to a place he can star next season. Perhaps this is too big of a step up for him? I wish him the best whatever he decides.

Duck Events at State College?
From what I've been told from many of my old friends who are Coug and fuskie fans, Duck students aren't any better. They're always going to act like little turds unless you summon some of your old drinking skills and put them to shame. Then they'll worship you like a Norse god.

It is the most hostile road environment in the Big Ten and one of the most iconic atmospheres in college football: The Penn State White Out. A tradition that began with the student section in 2004 morphed into an annual full-stadium, 100,000-plus visual effect that began in 2007. When No. 6 Oregon kicks off against No. 3 Penn State on Saturday (4:30 p.m., NBC) it will be the 18th full-stadium White Out at Beaver Stadium. Oregon Football: Player of the Game in Week Five
Great game plan Alex! More of Moore to Moore definitely needs to be in the recipe for the stew that leads OBD's to victory. In tbe BIG Title game the PSU linebackers could not contain the Ducks tight ends. If i remember correctly Sadiq had 2 touchdowns as PSU tried to double up or zone the fast wide outs and paod the price. DL and Stein will relentlessly attack the weakness they discover on the PSU defense. And the 2025 Duck O has the weapons and depth to exploit it...... But for this old Duck fan the Duck D has to rise up to be the star of the game! Stop the run, force Allar into 3rd and long. PSU's QB is their weakness..... Forcing PSU to punt on the first 3 PSU pissessions coupled with 17-21 points by the Duck O will take PSU out of their game plan. This will create the opportunities for sacks and interceptions. Or at least I can dream! Go Ducks! You are on the big stage again. This is one of those games that Bryce B. came bsck for this season....

Our Oregon football program faces its biggest test of the season in week five: Penn State. Duck Events at State College?
I would guess that just by walking around outside the stadium in Duck gear before the game, several aggregations of PSU fans are likely to try to start a conversation by offering something to eat and drink. In the big faceoff in Athens against Notre Dame in 2019, I saw Georgia folk engaging the ND fans all over the place the morning (and afternoon) before the game. I asked many Irish fans if they were having a good time on campus, and everyone said they loved the Southern Hospitality they were receiving, We did a lot of joking though that it wouldn't be that way Between the Hedges in Sanford Stadium once the sun went down. I suspect some of you will meet PSU fans like that. Just stay away from the students. Incidentally, you may be interested to know that the blogging procrastinators on the Dawg site in which I participate pretty universally predict OBD to win this game, and many don't think it will be close. This reflects, I think, the regard they have for Lanning and the lack thereof for Franklin ever winning big games. Thought you might find the sentiment in Dawg land interesting so I am passing it along.

Oregon's So-So Running Backs: Will Davison Grab the Top Spot?
A related thought that crossed my mind this week: There is a possibility that Hughes will decide that the room is too crowded and that, as good as the two freshmen are, he might never make it to RB1 at Oregon. What if Hughes decides to redshirt himself this year and then hit the portal for greener pastures (a la Bear Alexander last year)??? I'm pretty sure that someone came up with a whole lot of money to bring him to Eugene, but the guy wants to play too.

Traffic is slow on I5 south on game days. Not too sure they have announced a kick off time yet. If driving a few hours before game time from Portland, my advice is once you get to the south side of Salem merge to the right hand lane for at least 3 to 5 miles. You will thank me. If I was looking for a place to stay, after the game, that is closer to Portland. I would recommend the Fairfield Inn, it is a Marriott property in an area called Lake Oswego. It is located just a few miles from Portland, and there are a number of restaurants within walking distance in a safe part of the metro area.

We love new young Duck fans! Depending on traffic, it will take at least 2 and maybe 3 hours to get to Autzen Stadium from Portland on a game day. Unfortunately, and much to my dismay, I am not aware of any Park and Ride options. Also, parking will be a challenge for late arrival. There is a shuttle in Eugene to the stadium you may want to consider if you are able to make the game. https://goducks.com/sports/2011/6/21/205174790#shuttles About 2.5 hours before the game, the entire Duck team participates in the "March to Victory" from the Moshofsky Center (open to all ticket holders and next to Autzen). Your son would be able to see all of the Ducks, but not necessarily meet them. Immediately after the game, you could line up outisde the tunnel and watch the Duck players leave the Stadium. After the game, fans are allowed onto the field (after the players have cleared) for about 20 minutes or so. When my boys were that age, we loved throwing the football around and pretending to be Ducks. Go Ducks!!!

Oregon's So-So Running Backs: Will Davison Grab the Top Spot?
I think Hill is significantly stronger and bigger than Riggs. But he hasn't learned how to pass block at the level needed to be an every down back. I expect to see Hughes get more touches against Penn State than any other game to date. Davidson will be short yardage, Noah and Jayden will be RB2 and 2. I think by the end of this season Jayden will be getting very few touches, and Riggs will have transferred out. And then after all that I forgot about Jay Harris, who I feel could be our most effective back at getting 3+ yards each carry against a Penn State front 7.

Offer Advice to a Visiting Fan?
Hi all, I’m from Pennsylvania and my 7-year old son is a growing Ducks fan. We’ve never been to Oregon before. But I just found out that I may have to be in Portland on Saturday morning on October 25. If I left at 9:45 a.m., would have a shot at making a 1 pm game if that's the kickoff time against Wisc? Any tips on where to stay between Portland and Eugene after the game? I think I would try a Park and Ride to make life easier. And last question - is there anything before the game or at halftime or something that would enable a kid to meet the Duck. He’s a big fan. Thank you for any tips!

Oregon's So-So Running Backs: Will Davison Grab the Top Spot?
He has the same challenge as Riggs right now; both are smaller guys who do not have the power for inside running plays, IMHO. He might get there, but I would opt Davison over Hill in a heartbeat for inside running plays, while it is evident that Hill is best for running outside zones. And he can catch....allow him to make people miss on the perimeter? We heard about plays like that in practice and scrimmages, but have not seen it in games. Pop a wheel route with him versus Penn State?

Toughest Road Venue Ever?
State College is not an easy place to get to ... fly to Harrisburg, PA, which is 1.5 hours east, and then drive slow roads up the Appalachian Mountains (hills really) to campus. I've heard the team will be staying in Altoona PA, which is about 1 hour to the west. It will be a tiring and slow journey. I hope that the team managers work it out well so the Ducks bring their A game, unlike what happened in the Rose Bowl last year (I still can't believe how poorly they played). Also the stadium is under renovation, so maybe it will only be 80% of the maximum possible WO situation. Go Ducks!

Oregon's So-So Running Backs: Will Davison Grab the Top Spot?
Here’s my take on the situation. There have been some discussions that Hughes was struggling with the playbook and grasping all the little things in the offense during the offseason. That put Noah and Limar as RB1 & RB2 out of the gate. My guess is that the initial thought process going into fall camp was that they were probably looking to get the young guys some carries in practice and in early games (Hill and Davison) with a plan to possibly redshirt them, due to depth at the position. The problem is that both of those guys have stepped up big time and have played extremely well for true freshmen. The result is that you have very little separation within the RB group right now. Hill has true game breaking speed, Davison looks powerful, and both have very good vision for their age. I have been very impressed with Davison as a runner, but did you see him pick up that blitz in the OSU game? That was rad! I love our running back room right now. There are freshmen with a ton of talent, mixed with veterans that are solid college RBs. But to Charles’ point, none of these guys are Droughns. If they were, we wouldnt be talking about rotations right now. Im not a coach, but if I had to shorten the bench to 4 right now, it would be Noah, Limar, Hill and Davison. All things being equal, I am playing the guys with more eligibility and a higher ceiling.
