  2. I don't see how Ohio State will hold onto all the young 5* QBs on the roster. Elite 11 rep heaps praise on five-star Ohio State QB commit WWW.YARDBARKER.COM The Elite 11 is the premier showcase for young quarterback recruits, and, more often than not, quarterbacks who have impressed the Elite 11 scouts have gone on to have successful...
  3. I imagine if a player is not judged unfit to play by a team doctor, not his doctor, that the player will not be paid.
  4. Solar, good point. But being the 11th team in the field instead of sitting on the bench will mean millions of dollars for a conference's coffers. You can bet the house that fans of teams that finish barely out of the 12-team field, especially SEC fans, will not be going silently into that good night. Differences in schedule strength including OOC games and in-conference will give disgruntled fans reason to beef. And the teams most likely to be impacted will be B1G and SEC teams. The settlement of the House case should it happen, will materially ramp up the cost of participation for every athletic department. Playoff revenues will matter. I expect that down the road, teams that make the playoffs and earn the money will receive a greater slice of the revenue than conference teams that do not qualify. This is already the case in the ACC. House has the potential to sink the NCAA. It's fitting because Grant House was a swimmer at ASU. (Sorry!) Giving the ACC and B12 champs seeding preference with the two being seeded in the top 4 and receiving a first-round bye even if they win the conference title with an 8-5 record, and even if they have a comparative lousy SOS will, I hope, lead to a 16-team field in 2026 with the top 16, except a G5 participant not in the top 16, and seeded according to the committee's final ranking (if a committee is still making the rankings.)

  6. NJ - great insight regarding the current rankings. At the end of the day does anyone expect that Syracuse and Wake Forest among other "leaders" will finish in the Top 25? That Georgia will finish 14th? That Oregon will finish 21st? The Ducks will sign more than six players in the 2025 class. Notre Dame is No. 1 with 20 players 'committed' and a score of 255.65. Ohio State is 2nd with 13 players 'committed' and a score of 255.56, a .09 difference. Seeing as how it is the month of May, which team is ahead? Ranking the portal picking as of today's date is incisive. Ranking the 2025 class is as silly as ranking nine SEC teams, with the lowest ranked No.19, in a much-too-early Top 25.
  7. Maybe there should be a "prima donna tax", where if a player sits out post season games they forfeit a % of NIL monies or something similar.
  8. Ohio State according to someone named Jesse Simonton of On3 Sports, has ranked Ohio State with the best RB room and excluded Alabama from his top 10. This resulted in the following reasonable response by the Bama Hammer site: Bama fans are livid, On3 failed miserably, Fans are right to call foul, ranking is not backed by solid facts, Bama fans in agreement with this nonsense ranking - Zero! I post this first to give the Buckeyes the proper respect and to point out that college football down south is not an enjoyable pastime, it is a religion. Fans and journalists who question any aspect of the religion do not have differing opinions, they are heretics. It will be very interesting to watch our OBD beefed up as of yesterday, defense go against the Buckeyes. I'll be watching the game with rapt and anxious attention and hoping, of course, that the Ducks win. Oregon as of today is -1.5 which means that Autzen is not getting the full 3-point home field bump. Ohio State, with the 57th most difficult schedule in the country, is the favorite to win the B1G title at -165. Oregon with the 11th most difficult schedule, is 2nd at -210. But win or lose, I will not be heading to Disney World, buying drinks for the house, asking my son to rename my recent grandchild 'Baby Duck,' sacrificing any fauna to coach Dan, rendering my garments, tearing my hair out, wearing sackcloth, or poisoning any nearby flora. SEC fans, not you Vandy fans, it's a Game, OK? Alabama football fans are livid about On3's top running back units BAMAHAMMER.COM An adage states opinions are so plentiful, they are worth a dime a dozen. That everyone is entitled to have one makes them no more valuable. I am a fan of the
  9. More difficult, but less risk of missing who could have won it all. So not as critical. The bye is the only thing keeping the conference championships relevant, and I think that is the only reason the byes exist. If it wasn't worth a bye you'd see starters benching themselves if coaches didn't do it first. So if they dump the bye and go to 16 teams then they should do away with the conference championships
  10. These better be some pretty cool uniforms... They've been hyping the roll out more than I can remember for previous uniforms. It feels we have been overdue for some cool new uniforms for awhile now. The last two were meh.
  11. First he buys a van for the purpose of transporting fellow players around and now this. I like the character of players like Dillon Gabriel Dan Lanning is bringing to Oregon. Not just top players, but also with character. Dillon Gabriel individually emailed, texted and called sports journalists to raise awareness for his I'm Inspired event on Friday at Mililani High School. 12. Alright, now it's starting to feel more even with OSU. We are going to arguably have the best DL in the B1G (almost wrote PAC12 there!). Both OSU and Michigan's offensive strengths will be their running game. If we can get any kind of head start on them, they'll feel pressured to abandon the run if they only get 0-5 yards per carry. And the won't have hope of significantly wearing us down over the course of the game due to our depth. Game on.

  14. Ducks LANDED ELITE LB & #1 DL from Portal and DAN MIGHT NOT BE DONE THIS WEEKEND!! We have 6 players in the 2025 class, even though that puts us 21 team ranking, the players individual rankings are averaging in the 90s. This is just the beginning of what Dan Lanning will churn out for this class! Quack Watch? Could we secure another recruit before the weekend ends? Maybe Peyton Woodyard? This video has some good info.

  16. Just wow Charles, I mean an analysis and presentation of information one can find no where else!
  17. Sometimes a one horse caravan will get you where you're going. Other times you have to have two. What Coach Lanning is building is like the eight-horse hitch Budweiser uses for their beer. We might even get sponsored by Budweiser this year with all the horse power we will have on the field. I could see a commercial where we have some of the massives pulling the National Title trophy home! I don't know about you but I always love the Budweiser commercials with their clydesdales. I have to say I love the lineup Lanning is putting together even more!

  19. Both the men and women, particularly the women appear to be on target for a major upgrade this spring. I have a problem though. I can't tell how good they really are because of all the acronyms involved in following the Duck site ie pb (personal best, lifetime best, top ten Oregon top ten, NCAA leading, this years best. What did I miss? Tell me Where we stand in the Pac12, BIG, I hate that acronym, NCAA . etcetera, etcetera Olympic qualifying
  20. Booty? I grew up with a Booty. Not General Booty rather, Illgotten. Illgotten Booty.....wasn't a General though he might have been a Pirate.
  21. Did you say "baring" their palms? Seems apropo, for a team that seems to keep coming up empty handed.
  22. I was thinking that he should join the military. Think of how fun basic training would be!
  23. Thanks, @Charles Fischer! Trojan tears are my favorite!!
