  1. Agree with you, CJ, both on Bassa and on RGIII. Commentary from RGIII is reasonably analytical and pretty funny at the same time. Plus, his enthusiasm adds to the broadcast. And Bassa? Wow, his name kept getting called on the biggest plays. He has gone from just filling in to being a force in a very few games.
  2. Where does this quote from Mario..."everything wrong with football"...come from? I can't find it anywhere. Anybody have a link?
  3. Well put...I had that same feeling of confidence (which I had learned to mistrust) even during the bad stuff in the first quarter. This team may be inconsistent, but sure they don't quit. And, with the talent they put on the field, they can overcome a lot.
  4. What's with the kicking? Is Lewis kicking into a strong wind?
  5. We've seen this kind of start from the Ducks before, and they're 7-1.
  6. Oregon 31-17, 1, 2, 195

    Utah

I think the Utes are the toughest remaining opponent.
  8. I want to see that Mario has the team in a cold fury for this game; a bunch of hot rage in the players could make for an ugly game. Just dispatch the Huskies, coldly and clinically, and don't look back. Don't be hearing barking in your head all the time; it gives Washington too much credit.
  9. The best way to really anger Husky fans would be to not care about them and their teams. "We actually compete with more football prowess schools".
  10. Looks like Darrius Clemons may be coming, instead.
  11. Twitter is nothing but bulletin board material, whatever the topic being discussed.
  12. Not nearly as much as it used to be.
  13. Ducks pass my eye test: I clearly saw them beat Ohio State.
  14. The crystal balls are moving in the wrong direction. Predictions For Isaiah Sategna
  15. The rankings usually reinforce a pre-existing narrative; in this case it's the PAC is weak and Oregon is a flash in the pan, and if the Ducks win it's a fluke. On the other hand, the manufactured narrative is about BIG toughness and tradition and, it's Ohio State fer crissakes! So, you get, "Sure you beat us, but we're better than you!"
  16. Good thoughts, Charles. We had a flat-coated retriever that every Halloween would have joyfully gone off with any or all of the kids who came to the door. Happiest dog I've ever seen.
  17. I agree. I was more impressed with McGee than Cardwell. McGee looks really fast and versatile, and he plays way beyond his size.
  18. Jon Wilner said that ASU is not so much badly coached as they are un-coached. He speculated that the players have quit on The Herminator.
  19. I can see why Mario says AB "gives us the best chance to win".
  20. If, if, if...the only game the Ducks were playing today was this one, not some hypothetical other game in which other things could have happened. And they won, convincingly. Seems pretty good to me.
  21. Backup defensive players got a lot of PT in this game; that at least partly explains Colorado's 29 points. Keeping your top defenders off the field if they're not needed is simply the prudent thing to do, especially given the Ducks' injury situation. You don't want to risk another hurt player to keep one or two meaningless touchdowns off the board. And, the backups get playing time.
  22. The Cougs beat ASU in Tempe. Crazy.
