  1. Ducks pass my eye test: I clearly saw them beat Ohio State.
  2. The crystal balls are moving in the wrong direction. Predictions For Isaiah Sategna
  3. The rankings usually reinforce a pre-existing narrative; in this case it's the PAC is weak and Oregon is a flash in the pan, and if the Ducks win it's a fluke. On the other hand, the manufactured narrative is about BIG toughness and tradition and, it's Ohio State fer crissakes! So, you get, "Sure you beat us, but we're better than you!"
  4. Good thoughts, Charles. We had a flat-coated retriever that every Halloween would have joyfully gone off with any or all of the kids who came to the door. Happiest dog I've ever seen.
  5. I agree. I was more impressed with McGee than Cardwell. McGee looks really fast and versatile, and he plays way beyond his size.
  6. Jon Wilner said that ASU is not so much badly coached as they are un-coached. He speculated that the players have quit on The Herminator.
  7. I can see why Mario says AB "gives us the best chance to win".
  8. If, if, if...the only game the Ducks were playing today was this one, not some hypothetical other game in which other things could have happened. And they won, convincingly. Seems pretty good to me.
  9. Backup defensive players got a lot of PT in this game; that at least partly explains Colorado's 29 points. Keeping your top defenders off the field if they're not needed is simply the prudent thing to do, especially given the Ducks' injury situation. You don't want to risk another hurt player to keep one or two meaningless touchdowns off the board. And, the backups get playing time.
  10. You can't have it both ways. If you want the back-ups to get experience, they have to play. If they don't play, people yell and scream that they're not getting playing time.
  11. So, maybe there are reasons TT has not been playing?
  12. Amen! Post-game couch coaching is undefeated.
  13. Well, to be fair, fans were booing, and were reportedly chanting, "We want Thompson". If that's true, I think it's more than fair to say that at least some fans were booing AB, and not the coaches. But, that's the trouble with booing sometimes; you may know what you're booing, but there's no guarantee anyone else does. It's not like there's one kind of boo for players, another for coaches, and a third for the play-calling. Charles, I think in your fair-mindedness and deep knowledge of the game, you give most fans way too much credit.
  14. The kraken will be released. The long-rumored backup QBs will play. Oregon, 42 - 13, 2, 2, 315
  15. Finally found a link to a list of players in the portal. https://247sports.com/Season/2021-Football/TransferPortal/
  16. Over 4 million people have watched Arizona play football? 3 million of them may never watch another game.
  17. And, an all-star group of visiting recruits could feel the love: https://www.on3.com/college/oregon-ducks/news/oregon-set-to-host-key-defenders-coveted-ot-this-weekend/
  18. You can only say yes if you also name who is the better coach who will come to Oregon. No more, "Coach Some-Other-Guy".
  19. Ohio State still has to play Michigan (on the road), Michigan State and Penn State, so the chances they stay with one loss are not good.
