  1. Oregon was the only B1G team this season that had 8 consecutive B1G games without a bye. USC had 7. No other team had more than 6.
  2. You can run W-L scenarios at this link. Though when I looked at it a little while ago it didn't have Rutgers beating Maryland. Simply click on a team to change the highlighted winner then click the calculate standings button. The guy's algorithm considers all the tie-breaker scenarios toward top two. mred's Big 10 FB Standings Generator BBALL.NOTNOTHING.NET Big 10 Conference Football Standings with Tiebreakers
  3. The Ducks would like to both clinch it and clench it. But, there are who beat who scenarios involving 8-1 teams...not the head-to-head...but the W-L record of their 9 opponents where a loss to Washington could do damage.
  4. 2015 Michigan State beat Michigan and Ohio State on the road, and Penn State at home. (They also beat Oregon at home). They did not play Wisconsin. Then, got demolished by Alabama
  5. Excerpt from one of those links: "Barring any unlikely tie-breaking scenarios in the conference standings, Oregon will compete for the conference crown in Indianapolis." I believe that is true. If the Ducks lose to Washington, and a couple other games are upsets, Oregon could fall out of the 1 or 2 slot. It is based on teams being tied with one loss 8-1 and the W-L records of teams they beat when there was no head-to-head among some of the one-loss teams.
  6. Tonight was the final regular season B1G game across two time zones. No more this regular season. No blizzard games that I can recall. The traveling teams were 8-18 (5 wins by teams going West to East) 3-0 - Oregon 2-1 - UCLA 0-3 - USC 0-4 - UW The other 3 wins were East to West: Indiana, Minnesota, Penn St
  7. 2010 started with 12 straight W's. 10th win was 15-13 at Cal Ducks 313 yds, Cal 193 2024 has started with 11 straight 16-13 tonight Ducks 354, Wisconsin 226 Sometimes crap happens.
  8. Out: DL Jordan Burch, DB Jahlil Florence, DB Khamari Terrell, WR Tez Johnson, WR Kyler Kasper, DL My'Keil Gardner OL Marcus Harper, OL Matthew Bedford
  9. Today’s availability report as submitted to the Big Ten: Out: DL Jordan Burch, DB Jahlil Florence, DB Khamari Terrell, WR Tez Johnson, WR Kyler Kasper, OL Marcus Harper, OL Matthew Bedford, DL My’Keil Gardner Some tough absences for the Ducks in that list...
  10. Cignetti has benefited greatly this season from 13 players who came with him from James Madison with at least 8 starting. Clearly knew expectations and culture, and the play book. His staff includes 6 assistants from JMU. According to FPI, the strength of schedule is No. 100. But, they have had dominant wins and not stubbed their toes. Cignetti had to be given a raise. Had to. Any AD would do it as a defensive measure since his coach only had one season invested in Indiana. Can he sustain success? That is now the $8million per year question. If the Hoosiers can beat Ohio State it is a short bus ride to the Big Ten Championship game. It is 49 miles from Bloomington to Indianapolis. That's closer than Georgia is to Atlanta. It would likely be the most overwhelmingly partisan crowd in the history of conference championship games.
  11. Well, they'll have bowl eligibility and won't be clawing for that when they visit Eugene in 15 days.

  13. Andy Reid is 66. Have no idea what his plans are for retirement from the Chiefs. Nor whether the Chiefs would hire a guy without NFL experience. But, the geographic location would likely get Lanning's attention.
  14. So, if you can't afford to fire a head coach, will you spend big $$ to steal a coordinator? Something successful programs have to consider to guard their backside... It's too expensive to fire most head coaches, so coordinators will - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Because of high buyouts, schools will be reluctant to fire college football head coaches. But many will change coordinators.

  16. In 1982, Faust led the Irish into Autzen and led them out with a 13-13 tie. The Irish were 4-1 prior to the game. The Ducks were 0-6. The Irish kicked the tying field goal as time expired to avoid a potential loss. 17. Legendary USC Football Coach John Robinson Dies - USC Athletics USCTROJANS.COM John Robinson, one of USC's most popular and successful football coaches, died today (Monday, Nov. 11) in Baton Rouge, La. of complications from pneumonia. He was 89.

  19. By the way, all of Oregon's last four opponents will have had a bye week prior to the game: Michigan Maryland Wisconsin Washington The Ducks also have a bye week prior to playing Washington.
  20. Wisconsin will also be coming off a bye. Maryland's head coach said he had his team start practicing defensively for Oregon during the bye week....essentially two weeks of practices for one opponent.

  23. Apparently both inside Truax and outside.... ...not sure what Beavis was doing? They (4-4) host San Jose St (5-3) on Saturday.
  24. AP voters are public weekly. Coaches poll voters are public for the weekly ranking after the final ranking only. Outside of end of year polls, Oregon is the first unanimous #1 team in the AP weekly since Georgia on November 28, 2021. They were 12-0 and the only undefeated P5 team remaining at that time. This week, Georgia, Ohio St and Miami all have some No. 2 votes.
  25. He signed a six-year contract with a starting salary of $4 million per year. He is eligible for some bonuses, but they are not huge dollars. The base value of the contract is $25.5 million ($4.25 million a year) without any bonuses. Cignetti would owe the school $8 million in the first year if he resigns (before 11-30-24), $6 million in Year 2 (after 11-20-24), $4 million in Year 3, $2 million in Year 4 and $1 million in the final two years of the deal. $6-8 million is pocket change for some programs to reimburse Cignetti. The issue for USC is how much they would have to pay to fire Riley. And, the question I would have, relates to recruiting. How good is Cignetti? He is benefiting this year from over a dozen transfers he brought with him from his job at James Madison.
