  1. Given what we know about Mario's penchant for dragging down QB development and QB-unfriendly offensive schemes, Fickel is 100% spot on. I'm not that familiar with Manny Diaz but I do know Van Dyke performed better with him as coach.
  2. This is probably his first time as the main focus on a really big stage, I don't blame him for freezing (I hate public speaking as well). He'll be measured more for his team's performance on the field than a press conference.
  3. Deion Sanders represents ideal USC replacement for Lincoln Riley, Paul Finebaum argues 247SPORTS.COM Finebaum explains why Coach Prime in Los Angeles would be a home run. As a Duck fan I’d love for this to happen. It sounds like a couple people joking over beers and saying, “Come on, it’ll be funny…”
  4. Top 4 seem reasonable to me, though I think Penn St. and Michigan are interchangeable at their positions. USC should be ranked lower as they're going to get steamrolled this upcoming season. UW is a coin flip, they just have so much roster and coaching turnover that the first half of the season will be a dumpster fire. However the 2nd half of the season could turn around once all the new starters finally start settling into their roles and responsibilities.
  5. This is one thing I really like about DL, he's very self-aware. He absolutely understands the unique and advantageous situation he has at Oregon and has embraced it fully and enthusiastically. The last two coaches didn't seem to realize it and now are reaping what they sow.
  6. Ah man, that gives Texas A&M extra time to further worm their way into his recruitment. Hopefully that doesn't happen.
  7. You can find the channel number with this tool Find Big Ten Network On Your TV System - Big Ten Network BTN.COM To find specific football games on your TV systems, use GameFinder. Are you a resident of Canada? If so, please use this form below.
  8. Nope. I saw on a podcast somewhere that a family member that was spoken to said Pickett wouldn't be shutting down his recruitment after he verbally commits. So he's still up for grabs until December.
  9. Kirby was just being playful as he's still on really good terms with DL.
  10. I'd like Oregon to move to a 2 FCS + 1 G5 or 1 FCS + 2 G5 format for out of conference scheduling. Given the competitiveness of the B10 and the expanded CFP, we should treat the out of conference schedule as on field practice for the team before the regular season starts. This is much more important nowadays given the increased flux of players transferring in and out during the off-season.
  11. I'm not quite willing to say that Oregon's heading into a "golden age" of football...yet. I will definitely say however that DL is leading OBD into a world of intriguing possibilities that we have not experienced before in the program's history. That in itself is extremely exciting!
  12. Since USC pundits doesn’t have anything positive to say about their program they have to commiserate over Oregon’s success lol Recruiting losses to Oregon are getting very old for USC TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM It’s a broken record, and it’s not going to stop this summer.
  13. I wonder what caused Akili to drop so much in the rankings?
  14. Both brutal and hilarious lol https://athlonsports.com/college-football/lincoln-riley-selected-most-overrated-college-football-head-coach "74-18 is an impressive record, but a case can be made that his teams regress each season," Farrell said. "He inherited a loaded OU program from Bob Stoops, made some playoff appearances but fell off in 2020 and 2021. And with a Heisman quarterback, he’s only 19-8 through two seasons at USC, and his team took a big step backward last year."
  15. +1 on this. In one of those Texas football podcasts on YouTube, one of the commentators mentioned that he had actually spoken to Dakorien Moore's mother and she said that Oregon's NIL offer was *not* the highest bid. That's direct evidence to back up that Oregon tends to provide the most *complete* package, not the necessarily the highest cash amount. It also shows that Moore and his family are smart and recognize that.
  16. He hasn't had much of a chance to show what he can do so far, so concluding his career after a couple of small spots of playing time would seem to be jumping the gun to me.
  17. I think we can afford to wait and see with Dante, he started too early and in an offense that just wasn't designed for his skillset (not to mention a bad offensive line). I think he's got the skills and maturity to become something really good, Austin Novasad as well. It's going to be fun watching them compete for the starting job in 2025 (I wouldn't sleep on Luke Moga either, that kid is just uber talented physically speaking).
  18. The thought occurred to me that we could possibly have at least three five star receivers on the field for 2025/2026...likely some combination of Dickey, Dallas Wilson, Gaitlin Bair, and Dakorian Moore. That just blows my mind.
  19. This is so terribly tragic. Thinking good thoughts to Khyree's family in this difficult time...
  20. If any of those SUC fans really think Oregon's going to stop pillaging their backyard they're in for a seriously rude awakening.
  21. I had a gut feeling he was going to pick OBD despite what the prognosticators were saying about Texas. He expressed in an interview a desire to strike out a path of his own. Combine that with the fact that he visited Eugene several times already and it led to Sark being toast.
  22. That's also not surprising since he's the new guy and probably learning a whole new playbook from scratch. We'll know more once they make it through Fall training camp.
  23. You know your program has reached a really sad level when Oregon not getting a recruit is considered some kind of moral victory. Oregon fails to add new linebacker, a relief for USC TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM USC did not add a player, but neither did Oregon.
  24. Another thing that I've pointed out to Fuskies that they can't stand is that DeBoer has been coaching for eons and could only muster 3 point wins over DL who was only in his 1st and 2nd years as an HC. They point out that DeBoer won so it doesn't matter. I point out (correctly) that the trend for the next 5 years favors DL.
