Agree that the secret is out. Coach Mario thinking he knows offense better than Moorehead by overriding his playcalling will turn off any potential OC from joining that staff. It makes me wonder if Marcus Arroyo was actually better than what the season stats showed because of the same issue? In any case, Cristobal didn't do himself any favors by not prioritizing hiring coordinators first before the rest of the staff. Most OCs/DCs want to have a say in what position coaches they want to work with, not have that dictated to them. What's the over/under on him being booted out of Miami? Shorter or longer than Taggarts career at FSU?

My gut says Iluli is probably going to follow Cristobal, unless maybe the latest coaching news out of Miami starts to give him 2nd thoughts. James will probably flip to Oregon where he is sorely needed. Would love it if the Ducks reeled in a top 25 recruiting class, that provides some more momentum for 2023 recruiting hype.

Makes me wonder how long Prentice Gill has been doing this sort of shifty stuff, possibly at Oregon? He was only an offensive analyst in Eugene for a year but then left for the Sun Devils and Johnny Wilson followed him there which I thought was strange. If I were a high level blue chip recruit, would I decommit and follow an analyst to his new home or stay with the better program and actually work with my position coach?

Andrew Nemec had Halton and Connerly both going to other programs, though he says if Oregon can get Connerly for an on campus visit then they have a shot.

Time for Byron Cardwell to shine and great opportunities for Seven and Sean Dollars to get significant carries.

Probably. He's already got a national championship...now he wants to pad his stats for his last season to look good for the NFL. Better chance of doing that with Bryce Young than Stenson Bennett. Plus it's not like his chance at a 2nd championship is all that diminished by going to Alabama 😛

That one makes me want to pull my hair out. Can you imagine the recruiting exposure Oregon would have being on their TVs every year and playing in their stadiums every other?? Such a huge missed opportunity.

Mario indirectly meddled with DeRuyter's defense by implementing a slow, inconsistent, low-scoring offense. That bend-don't-break defense only works if you score lots of points, allowing the defense elbow-room to take risks on creating turnovers. The 2019 defense led by Avalos was more aggressive in creating pressure in the pocket, forcing turnovers rather than waiting on the other team to make a mistake. We saw some pressure from DeRuyter but in my opinion not nearly as much as Avalos called for.

Not right now but if he were to lead Georgia to a 2nd straight NC or even the NC game then who knows? He could get picked up in the later NFL draft rounds or at least sign on somewhere as a free agent.
