  1. Personally I don't like the 12 team playoff idea. It's deliberately slanted towards SEC having more teams in the top 6, thereby giving them a higher likelihood of getting a 1st round pass. 8 or 16 team playoff, where everyone plays the 1st round is best. Football version of March Madness!
  2. I don't think so either. The sledding is obviously tougher in a place like Corvallis but he's done a good job navigating the program to better levels of success. Plus home is home, that's a tough thing to give up.
  3. If Oregon stays in the top 4 at the end of the season then I like their chances better against Alabama than Georgia.....but not by much.
  4. Both recruits would be huge gets. Another 5 star WR to pair with Troy Franklin would be awesome. However plucking a 5 star DL from the Huskies' backyard would be the perfect poke in Lake's eye...you know...since they're so much into "academically prowess"...
  5. I feel like 50% was for the CFP style points, the other 50% was to needle Lake.
  6. Wow, that's some serious house cleaning done all at one time.
  7. Stranger things have happened. I'd be shocked and pleasantly surprised if AB gets Oregon to the championship game. Right now I'd be more than happy if the Ducks just make it to the CFP...even if they lose that 1st CFP game it's the next logical step in progression as a program under MC.
  8. They worship Peterson (as they should) because he elevated the Huskies from mediocre to above average. I do respect him substantially as he's a former Duck and a good coach but I always thought that was his ceiling....above average as a P5 HC.
  9. Kind of, yeah. But today's college football is such a brutal grind now, I'm not surprised. OSU is in the midst of a crucial time to qualify for a bowl game and dropping the last 2 like that was pretty bad. They need 1 win out of the next 3, I think Stanford is their best chance.
  10. Yeah I doubt Aliotti comes back as a DC unless perhaps it just misses the routine that much. I could see Keith Hayward make the move however. Given that he's a co-DC at Cal, moving to a primary DC role would be a logical step forward for him.
  11. Well not really. However Canzano does make a good argument for Aliotti to be Jonathan Smith's new DC, another suggesting Keith Hayward. Interesting to think about.... https://www.oregonlive.com/sports/john_canzano/2021/11/canzano-oregon-states-jonathan-smith-sends-a-message-with-firing-of-defensive-coordinator.html
  12. Firing Donovan won't change a thing for the puppies. Lake doesn't know how to hire coaches and it will continue to drag them down. Fine by me lol
  13. That competitive energy is what's driving the program forward. Whether you like it or not, he took it personally when another coach called his players dumb and responded on behalf of them. I'd rather have a protective coach with fire in his belly than one who just rolls over.
  14. I would've had Cardwell punch that last td in. Yeah I'm a little petty like that lol.
  15. They also have the best win of the year.
  16. MC needs to tear Pittman a new one on nationwide TV like he did Hutson. What he did was completely and utterly inexcusable. This game should be over.
  17. The defense is the only reason why oregon is still in it.
  18. The offense is picking a fine time to act like it has no idea what it's doing.
  19. If Oregon beats down the puppies they move to #3
  20. I hope MC lets JM keep his foot on the gas the entire game, would love a 30+ point blow out. That being said, I also hope MC is keeping the players under control after the Lake's garbage comments. The team has been keeping penalties under control, we don't want more taunting penalties killing scoring drives all game long.
  21. I think JM would obviously be the more likely to leave, particularly if Oregon makes it into the CFP this season. He's probably wanting to get back into an HC position somewhere in the Power 5. MC would be far more difficult to pull away, given his cautious and conservative tendencies I don't think he would leave a really good thing like what he's created at Oregon. Plus I don't think there are many other programs that have such support and freedom to do what he sees fit, there's usually a ton of meddling by ADs and/or boosters.
  22. Clemons is a physically larger receiver (6'3" 205#) than Satagna (5'11" 170#) and rated higher than either Satagna or Anderson (247 and Rivals) as well as being an All-American invitee.
