  1. Eh, the state pride ship sailed for me once every game started to appear on TV. It’s not like it’s a team of all Oregonians with a rare chance to market the state to the world on TV for the first time.
  2. Clownzano rumors as far as I can tell, doesn’t mean it won’t happen though. A broken clock is…you know the rest. He also has a strong motivation for wanting the PIG2 to flourish, so serious grain of salt with his scooped enthusiasm. Depends on the nature of the deal. How much $? Which games? National or purely regional? From what I’ve seen so far this could range from every home game on national tv to two home games each distributed only in the PNW. Pretty sure viewers in Pittsburgh won’t be tuning in to see Beavis play San Jose State, it stretches the imagination to think this is national when they could draw better numbers from an episode of Gun Smoke.
  3. Be surprised if he stays in college. Him not being a lottery pick probably works to his advantage as far as playing with Dad goes. I hear the WSU frosh of the year entered the portal though.
  4. This is what stood out to me as it pertains to gifting a home game this upcoming year. Not sure why we didn't seem to grasp they consider us adversaries, IMO you don’t give a current legal adversary a gift in the middle of proceedings. Maybe they would have settled differently if you hadn’t already agreed to playing a G5 on the road without even guaranteeing a return game.
  5. Going to be long process for it all to sink in for the PIG2. They’re delighting and squealing in their hollow court victories and seeming riches now. Eventually they’ll start to realize they’re playing San Jose State every week. All downhill from here.
  6. Maybe, but would they have won as much?
  7. All true. People I know with WSU ties blamed him for many of their financial woes. But in reality, they’ve been relatively successful on the field the last year. That being said, their athletic department is a complete financial dumpster fire under his watch, fair or not. Bottom line, I think the PAC2 is at the least feeling a bit unsettled from this, which is a shame.
  8. Oh they’re all big. tOSU at home stands out of course. Lets flip it around a bit, which game can we absolutely not lose?
  9. THIS is who they hire? Seriously? What are they thinking? Total two-fer in my view. Facial for PIG2 and terrible hire (again) by UW. I occasionally peek in on a beaver forum and the once brother in arms is instantly being called a “scumbag”. Ditto for hoops coach. Cracks in the foundation of unquestioned solidarity as the rats flee.
  10. Good post! I don’t doubt they’re astute. Doesn’t mean they didn’t hit the panic button when it came to fully considering the exit. It also occurs to me that they didn’t necessarily think through that nearly the entire league would be leaving, and would evolve into the absurd PIG2. At the very least, he should be criticized for not communicating with fellow exiting members to develop an exit strategy that dissolved the conference, there was definitely a sense of panic. All that being said, there’s still no excuse for canceling a home game and gifting a home game to someone at the very moment they're trying to pickpocket you. Again, it seemed like hitting the panic button and the reaction of a schoolboy that felt guilty. No pass from me on that.
  11. The tourney units sound like they could ultimately come into question unless the PIG2 stand completely pat for up to 6 years. If they are stupid enough to not move on, and only hang on to dwindling dollars earned in a less lucrative era, instead of trying to find a way to make new dollars, it will not end well for them. These old dollars are pennies on the future dollars that are out there to be had. I’ll say again, IMO we should not have immediately donated a home game to them in year one. We gave up a home game and gave them a home game while in the midst of litigating our exit? That is insane IMO. We should have just skipped a year to let things settle down a bit…no one would die from skipping a year no matter how much tradition we have had.
  12. Easy in hindsight. I didn’t have any huge issues with the field when it was announced aside from no conference should get 8 bids, ever. Seriously, do better than 8th place. Going in, everyone is guessing, no one knows if the 7th team from the SEC is worse than the 5th from the big east…but 8 is way too many for any conference. Give Indian State (for instance) one of those spots, whoever finished 8th in the SEC already had their shot.
  13. Up by 4, with the ball and under a minute to go? Not sure what else to call that, Like I said, played with a lot of heart, really needed to not have half of our 8 players score zero, just not quite enough firepower. Couisnard set an all time conference scoring record (that was about 50 years old), and Dante was incredible. Great run.
  14. Blew it, don’t inbound to Dante please. I don’t usually cry about the refs, but 5 free throw attempts in a double OT? Dante was fouled at least 10 times. Great run though, lot of heart!
  15. Definitely feels like swimming upstream, everything is a struggle.
  16. Creighton significantly better than USC
  17. Oh they definitely play the same game with hoops, but the bigger the field the more it gets smoked out when it comes to playoffs.
  18. They are still blood suckers, but it lessens the blow (to me at least) and would seem a lot worse if they were being cut a check for $30m one day after the tourney ended. At the end of the day, I don’t work in the administration, whether or not these morons get a semi-life raft doesn’t truly impact me other than it’s annoying. As a fan I’ll enjoy watching us host tOSU and being relevant while they try to convince everyone they aren’t a group of 5/6 because they pilfered $50m. That being said, shouldn’t have gifted the grifters a home game, that’s just being masochistic.
  19. Fact that it is spread over 6 years eases the blow a bit for me. Who knows what portion of this they’ll retain in 5 years…have fun with all the bean counting as the units start to dry up PIG2.
  20. Now let’s see if Nebraska takes out another one
  21. And now Auburn goes down to Yale, SEC no doubt overrated.
  22. SEC definitely trying to work the system like they do for football. Problem is, this strategy gets smoked out with a large field…you have to play good teams outside the comfort of your ecosystem when the tournament starts. Have to say though, they created a narrative that worked, but in truth the SEC as a conference was pretty on par (at best) with the PAC this year.
  23. It’s probably going to be slightly less egregious with the expanded playoff. Of course that boils down to the selection process and if it genuinely uses SOS. They got away with it to tremendous advantage with the 4 team playoff. Only way they’ll stop is if SOS starts to hurt them, which it probably won’t. Blame the conferences that voluntarily put themselves at a disadvantage…they're apparently more concerned with conference championships than national titles.
  24. What would be really fun is if for some reason one, but not the other is invited to the ACC or B12. Test the bonds of their loser brotherhood.
