College Football Playoff, Pac-12 Agree to Significant Distribution Bump for Oregon State, Washington State
Maybe they’ll refund some of the additional $10m the state gave them last week?

What were Oregon State and WSU Supposed to Do?
A leech may successfully latch on, but it’s still a leech.

UW AD Leaving...
Wild. Originally from Iowa, Seattle must not have agreed with him. That’s a really short run for an AD to make a willing and at best, lateral move. Barnes?

USC Tougher Opponent Than Oregon?
It’s almost like they wrote the article using information from 6 months ago.

What were Oregon State and WSU Supposed to Do?
Great article. They are doing exactly what they should do. Doesn’t mean I don’t think we could have approached things differently. In the end, they are getting crumbs that will help them for about 1 year as things currently stand. That being said, we should have given the rivalry the year off. Giving up a home game and donating a home game to them while they continue to act like they’re doing us a favor by agreeing to play us, while continuing to fleece us, bad mouth us, all while securing additional funding from the state. Way more context at play than preserving history and I think gifting them a home game was a bad call by us.

How Long Before the ACC 'As Is' Breaks Up?
I would have guessed the new deal might have slowed the breakup down, but it seems to be doing the opposite. Seems like it’s getting closer to time for a new division if the ACC goes. ACC is not entitled to the same percentage if they lose their top 5 brands but still stick around like the PIG2. I’m guessing ESPN was smart enough to account for the ACC losing P4 status. Problem with a new division (50-60 schools) is it would require booting some schools from the existing B12, B1G and SEC…and I don’t see that happening soon. What are the exit strategies for these top ACC schools? Is the SEC making room for FSU, Miami and Clemson? UNC, Duke and Virginia to the B1G? If that happens, there is essentially an upper division but it still would include the likes of Vanderbilt. Fascinating mess, glad we’re where we are!

Pac-12 Network to Broadcast 12 Spring Football Games, Including for Departing Schools
Everything you said is correct, but that is not amicable, it’s all openly hostile. I don’t support doing a massive, optional favor for someone that is openly hostile towards us. The league rules were all designed around a single team leaving, not 10. Yes, there should have been a clause around what constitutes the league dissolving and there wasn’t, so technically the rodents have a leg to stand on, but that doesn’t make them our buds. The league ended and they’re using loopholes/legally gray areas to snatch away as much unearned $$ as possible. This week alone the PIG2 will keep all units earned from the tournament, which by my math could be as much as $18M in week 1 alone. They’ve been leaches for decades and are taking it to new levels. These are dollars being earned by current league members, but nada for them because they are leaving in the future. Anyway, there are countless posts dedicated to this, I won’t recreate them all. No mercy rule when we play in September, and I don’t wish them well.

Pac-12 Network to Broadcast 12 Spring Football Games, Including for Departing Schools
It’s not amicable in any way. They tried and are trying to do exactly what we did (leave a dead conference), but no one wants them at the moment. So now we give them a home game, and they keep stealing millions of unearned dollars from us at every turn, and we’re supposed to be okay with that? Thank you sir may I have another? Nope.

Pac-12 Network to Broadcast 12 Spring Football Games, Including for Departing Schools
Maybe technically so, but I can’t believe any of their broadcasts of spring games is very profitable, I mean I’ve seen the sponsors for the regular season when the league wasn’t about to disintegrate. What about embarrassment? What about if they are legitimately trying to rebuild? Branding success? I mean how do you gracefully cover teams that are leaving in a few months with a straight face? They should have sold all rights and saved some money and embarrassment. But instead they’re being codpieces…why are we playing them?

Oregon is No. 11 Seed: Plays At Pittsburg on Thursday vs. South Carolina
I think this is a matchup right up our alley. High scoring teams that shoot the 3 well is what I fear the most. Great bracket for us. USC went 1-1 against common opponent Georgia btw. Having 8 players is fine this time of year, except when playing 3 games in 3 days.

Stealing if they get it all, which I don’t know if that’s set in stone. That homer judge did warn them they could find themselves back in court. Even if they do keep it all, it’s unearned breadcrumbs spread over time that will not make them solvent. Assuming all 4 pac team don’t make the elite 8 or something crazy. A minor accounting victory doesn’t make them any less pathetic. <1%

Good a bracket as we could have hoped for!

Ducks Are the 2024 Pac-12 Tournament Champion 75-68!
3 games in 3 days with a streaky shooting team = what we saw. Definitely could use more than 2 made 3s moving forward.

Ducks Are the 2024 Pac-12 Tournament Champion 75-68!
12 seed would be great, much rather be 12 than 7-10. Most 5 seeds really aren’t that scary and then if you beat them, you take over their path in the bracket. 13 or 14 seed is probably actually even more of an advantage this year, pretty level field.

Bummer, PIG2 will squeeze for what they can, guess I’ll only see it if I drive down. No way am I paying a dime to get back on the P12 Network at this point.

The Pac-2 Are Simply Disgusting...
Anyone else notice the “commissioner” slinking around during the trophy presentation last night? Didn’t really speak. Awkward and priceless.

Stunner: Oregon Beats No. 1 Seed Arizona 67-59
Let’s not find out, but 22 win team that beat a 2 seed in mid-March at a neutral site seems like decent odds, in the conversation at least.

This day keeps getting better! Eventually I’ll stop rooting for their complete failure, but not this day.

Thanks, I depend on y’all for maximum Beavis carnage!

Stunner: Oregon Beats No. 1 Seed Arizona 67-59
You seem conflicted! I wouldn’t bet on a different outcome, which I base on us having very few quality wins this season, not hate. That being said, sports can be insane. SCO Ducks!

New CFB Revenue Model: Beavis and Butthead Get LESS Than 1%!
A lot of hypothetical. A full share (or more) of 15% could be more than half a share of an 18 team conference getting 29%. I'm not arguing against the switch, just that in this case our share may also be less than 1% Just want clarity before crowing over Beavis in case their share is larger than ours.
-
New CFB Revenue Model: Beavis and Butthead Get LESS Than 1%!
Is that each or combined? If it’s remotely close to 1% each it’s waaaay too much. I also hesitate to ask, 18 teams in our new conference, we aren’t getting a full share, what exactly will our percentage be? 🧐
