  1. Must be because they're about to announce their new super inter-galactic TV deal. Has it been more than a month since I last said this? Any day now??
  2. Right on, impossible to fully judge line play on both sides. We have a lot of dudes, a lot. Was fun to watch them in some action, and I’m certain Beavis will be even more angry than last week after reading the Oregonian article that clearly contrasts the differences in spring game atmospheres. Has Beavis become Uncle Scooge McDuck? Reality setting in goes something like; We won, we won! Looks at us! The administration has more money than they deserve! Oh wait, why do we suck?
  3. I can only take so much away from a scrimmage. Who was Gabriel facing on D? Were they more motivated on D in the first half? Were other QBs facing 4th stringers on D that don’t know the offensive playbook as well? The depth was impressive, but I still came away thinking the pecking order remains exactly as it started, but as fans do, some back up will immediately become “the guy we should be starting”. A large percentage of fans were still calling to start what’s his face over Bo going into season 2 with Bo. I wouldn’t be surprised if we lose one of the 4 before the portal closes here. Almost certainly not keeping all of the remaining 3 by 2025.
  4. I would also add that it seemed like the QBs were overly aware they’d be considered sacked if touched, especially in the first half…this definitely made them push.
  5. Yes, he should have stayed another year to improve, lot of quality WRs this year. That being said, someone will get a great value pick on him…it is hard to believe there were at least 16 WRs better than Franklin last year though.
  6. Thanks for the thread! Looking forward to it. Driving down in the morning, my brother is getting a tri-tip going and we’ll watch on the Beavis network if it’s too rainy to go in person
  7. Another example of why I don’t learn names, each year, until the portal is done. Interesting dynamic compared to say, the NBA. I specifically have been watching the NBA playoffs based on players playing, couldn’t care less about specific teams with the Blazers being a non-factor. Personality driven versus nameless/faceless all about the name on the front…until May at least.
  8. Grinning Elway is the first thing that comes to mind for the hatred…for me at least. I had visions of Bo in the silver and black for a hot minute!
  9. Michigan taking what looks like some big hits in the portal today.
  10. Beavis talking smack and living through others. I assume the camera was rolling in case someone clocked him.
  11. Realignment and coaching changes, layered together with the portal and NIL make it tough to form a judgement about a player’s character. Why would we expect stability with those four elements converging?
  12. I’m confused what this even means. Unless the “investors” own TV stations, what is the ”investment”? Why would I invest in this, what’s the return? Does a pot of gold reward make people interested in watching San Jose State play Bowling Green? I’m certain there will be a new division and a separate playoff eventually, but to me this is just posturing. Elements of this really remind me of Beavis and the great bean counting victory. You just got a bunch of money…and you still don’t interest anyone.
  13. The “time” has already passed. You’re going to the MWC no matter how much denial you are in.
  14. If I need a QB and have the first pick, absolutely. QBs are always a crapshoot, but you have to take the chance. If it’s a bust you’ll still be crappy and high up in the next draft.
  15. From what I've seen, their D will be about 5 steps back from last year and was only "eye-opening" because the offense is about 20 steps back. Perspective Beavis.
  16. I agree no guarantees for the B12/ACC outside the champ, but I do think a second place team with 10 wins from those two would get the nod over Beavis. I think it’s also equally likely you slot in a 4th team from the SEC/B1G over a second from the B12/ACC My point really is that unless Beavis goes at least 11-1, they aren’t getting a whiff as an at large.
  17. What Butch and Beavis don't seem to appreciate is that the national perception of the former PAC is not very good. These two more often than not, were at the butt(head) end of the PAC, but for some reason they really think this association still impresses anyone outside the pacific time zone…it does not and never did. Their clever “strategy” to wait things out the next two year is only going to introduce more competition if the ACC and B12 need to add teams. The more removed they become from actually playing in the P12, the more attractive other teams will start to become. If I’m the B12/ACC, and want to add a couple west coast teams, am I really not going for Fresno and SDSU? WTH do a couple of teams in Pullman and Corvallis bring to the table? They used to fail regularly in a P5 conference, therefore we must have them?
  18. Not to mention, barring beating us, at 11-1 they will likely not be valued over the second team from the ACC and B12. Pretty basic math, a conservative 12-team field estimate by conference: B1G - 3 SEC - 3 B12 - 2 ACC - 2 ND - 1 G5 - 1 Total 12 That's 12 right there. They need a landmark win to get in. This is all a fun exercise in theory, and I've probably thought about it too much since I personally put their over/under win total at 7.5
  19. There is one critical nuance that seems to be getting overlooked. They are only eligible for the at large portion as they are not part of a recognized conference. They get in line with the 4th place teams from the SEC etc. They probably need to beat us to have a prayer of getting in.
  20. I wish Kenny well during his layover at ASU.
  21. 1. No rain 2. No rain Seriously though, QB play really is at the top of my list…but I won’t be watching in the rain
  22. Seems clear if they were ever legitimately wanting to rebuild the conference they should have done everything in their power to add members immediately. But no, that would have involved using their “league funds” to ya know…keep the league running. After 100 years of riding coat tails, it’s more clear than ever this was all a money grubbing scam to squeeze without contributing one last time. So again, enjoy your bean-counter victory, you’re still a group of 5.
  23. I’m at the point with CU where I’m only slightly interested unless we’re getting something out of it. They’ve been losing some good ones and that quote seems familiar…somehow. Still cracks me up when Prime told us he “keeps receipts” after we crushed their dreams. Big words considering we aren’t on the CU schedule for the foreseeable future.
  24. Exactly how it is with the WNBA right now.
  25. What if they keep receipts like Prime?
