  1. It’s all semantics really. Personally, when I hear “need based”, it sounds reactionary. I think as it stands now, getting 30-40% of your roster from the portal is the smart way to go. Let others polish those 2 and 3 stars and then steal them to add to your core of 4 and 5 stars. Aside from evolving to get a few more 5 star dudes out of HS, I think we’re on the forefront of how to work it and should have a kingpin title.
  2. I suspect he’s old school and not used to re-recruiting players once he gets them on the roster. Beavis, arguably has it worse. Make the Elite 8 with everyone on the roster eligible to return, and then lose 80% of your starters in 2 weeks while headed to the WCC with no recruiting class in hand, major ouch. Overall women’s hoops is riding a wave of massive popularity at the moment, but IMO whether or not that sustains is very much in question. Having the “right” all time scoring leader to showcase won’t be an option next year. Apathy may be lurking.
  3. This also happened in a year the conference was as strong as it had been in some time. Year 3 is traditionally when a team is fully the new coaches team, so look out!
  4. Apple subscribers currently at 25M, and I’m guessing at least half of them don’t even know/care that college football exists. This isn’t even a discussion. 😉
  5. I appreciate your musicians’s lens (I’m a musician as well), but looking beyond the score for an individual instrumentation part, Beavis’ lyrics disqualify that song from not being considered terrible. 😆 Now if we want to start a conversation about how lame it is that our band latched on to Star Wars Episode 1 Freedom of Naboo as something they have constantly played for 25 years, that’s a conversation!
  6. They won the great ledger battle(s) of 2024, but their fate remains the same. Praying for an ACC or B12 invite, or becoming Colorado State.
  7. Watching their successful women’s hoops team fall apart this very second would be an indicator that the fallout applies beyond football. Poor Beavis.
  8. Benny’s House has convinced themselves he wasn’t actually that good. Guy was walking on water 2 weeks ago, now he’s leaving because he’s too slow and probably wasn’t going to start. Pound sand Beavis.
  9. Great news! As to who to get in the portal, I wouldn’t hold my breath on Bittle being a productive starter. Get the dude with glasses in a heartbeat if he’s an option! 😆
  10. P12 Network proudly broadcasting all exiting members. Always good to reemphasize with each awkward broadcast that the team they’re previewing is leaving. I’m sure the advertising from all the official sponsors of the conference will be a robust windfall.
  11. Rumor mill says Alabama. RBs have a very limited shelf-life and they’ve pounded the heck out of him, very good chance he’ll make more in college another year or two (I think he has 2 years left) than he’ll make in his NFL career. That and who wants to play “in the MWC“ for a former pac team that’s about to embarrass itself next season?
  12. I’m sure he already knows where he’s headed, Beavis thinks Alabama.
  13. The once loyal savior of Beavis Nation is now being called a “one trick pony that didn’t fit with the new offense”…according to Beavis fans. Yep, all downhill from the capitulation moving forward, hope they enjoyed the bean counter victory.
  14. Going to a P2 conference for a playoff contender versus hoping for 6-6 in the B12…I know which looks better on the resume.
  15. Yep, feels like getting out of Dodge to me.
  16. Though they are the eternal “sleeping giant”, most of their fanbase doesn’t seem to have giant expectations.
  17. They are always held to their commitments in that there is a penalty (agreed to by both parties) to be paid for leaving early, I don’t recall any breach of contract ever taking place.
  18. Can’t resist. Does Clown just flat out publish guesses as “sources” now? Finishing touches on that inter-galactic broadcast deal happening as we speak? I also like the false equivalency taking place. Indeed, CW could in theory have better distribution than the old P12 network, which would be amazing, if that was the only way they were previously broadcast. They aren’t adding on CW to a ESPN/Fox deal…the CW is it, if it ever happens. Brace yourselves for our regret!
  19. Absolutely, plenty of G5’s have a contender in a sport or two.
  20. I’ve seen quite a few of these Beavis quotes, we must be spying in similar circles! Such a shame. While they are getting a good windfall over time, the windfall laundry list that I’ve seen is everything they have coming in, it’s not like they are receiving status quo pac-12 income and then adding all the stolen money on top and now have an extra $125m each to blow. They have new and recurring expenses (each MWC game, running the PAC, etc.) and no tv deal to date. No one seems to be mentioning their recent stadium re-do ($45M bonded). Is the projected income from gate and donations meeting expectations the next 10 years when they’re hosting San Jose State instead of USC? They also had a $33M COVID related deficit as of last summer. I haven’t done the actual complete spreadsheet by any means, this is just my quick take based upon what I’ve seen, but it seems like the plunder is enough to keep them afloat in high-end G5 style for 2 years…I could be wrong though. 😆
  21. Awesome! Makes me wonder, are DL, Mullens, and Graves in the same building? Is there ever a sense of embarrassment, or “one of these things is not like the other”?
  22. I lived in Raleigh-Durham NC for four years prior to moving back to Portland in 2022. I got random “Go Ducks” almost every time I wore gear. Plenty of people were aware of us and it started quite a few random conversations at Home Depot etc. I’d say anyone that followed sports at all recognized O gear. I think your friend was messing with you if they’re actually a sports fan… I mean unless they don’t have tv.
  23. Maybe I’ve confused? If two members of the PAC had ONE Rose Bowl victory between them over the course of more than a century, that’s not very good…right? I’ll even overlook the fact the victory was played In Durham, NC a few weeks after Pearl Harbor.
  24. Idaho used to be in the same conference as us and is now appropriately in the Big Sky. The PIG2 has been in over their skis for decades and completely fit the G5 profile. This adjustment is nothing new, new divisions have popped up before. Like it or not, football drives the bus of the next separation and they don’t measure up.
