Cam Ward Has Turned Miami Into a Contender...
30Duck replied to Just Ducky's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Miami is exposing the Polls for what they are. A loss to Georgia notwithstanding, Clemson has been more impressive, so has 4-0 Indiana. Another call that makes no sense: Herby calls Sherrone Moore, Michigan's head coach, Coach of the week? As much fun as it's been pointing out Riley's shortcomings, Moore's great coaching move was understanding his team doesn't have a passing game and slogging the way to a win, with the help of a pick-6. -
Cam Ward Has Turned Miami Into a Contender...
30Duck replied to Just Ducky's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Just saw this, an objective observation on the 'Canes so far. Duke and Miami are both 4-0 overall without a conference game played yet. We expected Miami to be near the top of the conference. And with the four teams they have beaten having a combined record of 7-8, we have no idea if they get there or not. -

"Media Value" for the Scrap? it's the stuff grocery stores have in the boxes outside. They'd rather you pay for it, but if you just put it in your pocket and walk off, it's less inventory they have to deal with. -
This could be considered petty, but it's true, so. For two years all everybody was talking about was how great Caleb Williams was going to be in the NFL, "the best rookie since Andrew Luck!" So far, Bo Nix is having a much better year.

Oregon Ducks Football: 2024’s Leading Receiver?
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Just heard Joe Buck say this about playing the Kansas City Chiefs, "Any time you get Mahomes to handoff, that's a win" Micro speaking of course. The Chiefs can run the ball, so can the Ducks. But the explosive plays come from the passing game. -

Sheesh, the B1G Has Some Very Weak Teams...
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Nebraska and Illinois both looked good, and I was watching through my Oregon colored glasses, but neither looked like they should be a problem for OBD. Utah & Penn State is a great comparison, Wisconsin reminds of Stanford, under Harbaugh or Shaw. Rutgers was a power a110 years ago. USC still looks like USC post Carroll. Michigan State reminds me of Cal. UCLA, more than ever is a basketball school. A team that can force Michigan to be 2 dimensional will beat them, Washington just needs to be beat 12 times in a row again, a rivalry with Thee Ohio State will be fun. -

No. Aaron Fentress keeps saying he wants to see Miami & Oregon in a Playoff game on, "Talkin Ducks". If he wants to see that, he needs to get Madden. -
"The Duck" Continues His Visits to the BIG Ten
30Duck replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Bullseye. Spot on! We might forget. But the Yokels from Oregon State, Washington and all the others who take shots at Oregon have no idea. It started with the Joey Harrington billboard in New York; now the Oregon marketing Machine is unparalleled in the NCAA. Other teams have Mascots. Oregon has, The Duck. Bucky Beaver? Get outta here! That guy in the Dog suit at UW. Please. It'll be Duck and Corso on GameDay. High school kids across the country know about Oregon. The uniforms, the facilities. The Trojan on his horse isn't going to show up on the "Pat McAfee show. -
Absolutely. I had always believed that balance was essential. But then I'd see teams with great passing win and win. A WR from Alabama won a Heisman, DeVonta Smith. The RB corps this year isn't up to standards, but the WR's should be lethal.

Agree with the Bruins. Every loss to the "Basketball School" hurts. Michigan State makes me remember Vernon Addams to Byron Marshall, but also Mariota in all yellow uniform, and it will always be fun to beat Jonathan. Pur-Don't. The Fighting Illini against the Fighting Ducks should be a good. I thought the whole game that Nebraska looked better, but Illinois won. At Michigan will need the Ducks to play their A Game. If they do. Michigan and their fans will remember the last time Oregon played in, the Big House. Maryland, "It's a trap!" Right after the Michigan game. But I think the Ducks will handle it. Wisconsin. All that stuff about wanting the opponent to be at their best. If the Wisconsin QB is still out, I'm fine. Washington: Time to start another epic winning streak.

Georgia at Alabama, the First Game of the Year This Season
30Duck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I want Georgia to win, I think Georgia will win. The pressure on DeBoer is intense. (You never want to be the Coach after the legend).DeBoer ran from Washington to take the job. -
I agree, the calls you cited, probably others, were missed. But the mistakes you, and the LA Times article pointed out, were much more responsible for the loss. We know all too well how crucial OL play is, a D won't get it done. The uninspired effort of the WR's gives life to the narrative about USC players. So far, Riley has coached 3 Heisman winning QB's, hasn't sniffed a Natty.

Oregon Ducks Football: 2024’s Leading Receiver?
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Great article, Alex, the WR situation for the Ducks is reminiscent of the Trojans a decade ago. Robert Woods in the Tez role, Marqise Lee as Evan Stewart, along with George Farmer, Nelson Agholor. Ducks have better TE's than the Trojans did. -
Georgia at Alabama, the First Game of the Year This Season

Duck fans can relate. Last season, two L's to the Mutts, both by 3 points, plenty of self inflicted wounds. -
USC played a team that passed for 32 yards. Not on one play. In the entire game. In truth, this was a game the Trojans should have won. This was a game in which the defending national champion Wolverines were booed in their own stadium. This was a game in which USC had the ball and a four-point lead in the last five minutes against an opponent that hadn’t scored in any of its last six drives. Right now, the Trojans have a championship defensive coordinator. They have a championship quarterback. They need Riley to be a championship head coach. But I thought it was the Refs!

I think this one will have a bigger audience than USC @ Michigan had, Georgia didn't fall in the "trap" against Kentucky, that was fortunate. Jon detailed that it hasn't gone well for Georgia against Alabama. But Georgia -2,5 on the road for now. I'm tempted to take that. -

I think this will be a great game, be very surprised if it doesn't live up to the hype. Georgia hasn't got off to a great start, rightfully dropped after nearly losing to Kentucky. Alabama hasn't been tested, both teams were off last week. On one hand I want Georgia to win, go into Tuscaloosa and knock Alabama out. I mainly want Georgia to win, because I don't want DeBoer to have that great victory. But should I want the former Husky coach to have success at his new school, because it will cause heartache in Seattle?
