  1. Oregon 44 WSU 20 3 1 308
  2. Well said.
  3. This game will be a test, I don't think it would have mattered where Oregon played Georgia, so this will be a real test of what kind of road warriors the Ducks will be, and why it's great to have Nix with his experience at QB. A team knows it's good when it uses the energy from a crowd on the road to energize itself.
  4. The most impressive thing about the Saban Alabama teams is that they have been so good for so long. Clemson was on top for a couple of seconds, but Alabama is in the midst of a dynasty. Until now, Last year's Georgia's defense was historic, and even with half of it playing in the NFL now, it's just as dominant this season. Georgia fans should enjoy this while you can. Your coach is smart. He, like Saban, appears to know how to keep complacency from setting in. The schedule will be tough enough that the Bulldogs will have to be sharp to accomplish what they want. It turned out great last season, Alabama won the first game, but Georgia came back, and won the Natty. Sweet.
  5. The closest, I think even closer than, "Dyer was down" was 2007. Dixon gets through that season, wins the Heisman, the Ducks win the Natty, who knows where Oregon is in the hierarchy of college football now?
  6. This won't be the week that pushes the Ducks up on the sack list, it really shouldn't even be a plan. WSU's offense works against sacks, Coverage is what works against WSU, so hopefully the TO's will be up.
  7. Two things stand out for me, DeBoer is showing what a huge mistake Lake actually was, and I'm really happy about this, WSU can survive and thrive, without Leach! WSU definitely deserves to be ranked, their loss to Oregon this weekend, will be offset a bit when Wisconsin takes down theeOhio State in the 'Shoe.
  8. If a QB doesn't naturally slide instructing him too would probably be counterproductive, he'd become hesitant, his play would suffer, and the chance of injury would increase. Lanning seems to trust that BO won't challenge the LB. He resisted throwing low percentage passes against BYU and made productive runs. If that is the plan, I think Bo's team is headed in the right direction.
  9. I definitely agree that rushing TD's from a QB is not the way to go, exception being Tebow, who succeeded even though it was clear he wasn't a passing threat. On the positive side last week I detected Nix, multiple times pulling back on throwing a risky pass= no pick. I don't want Johnny Football, just running around tossing Hail Mary's or Tebow. Nix is showing mobility, He can pick up some yards, extend possessions. But the RB's are talented and should be the ones carrying the rock.
  10. That's a cool, confident thing to say when you know Georgia isn't on your schedule.
  11. Absolutely. The crossing patterns have crossed our secondaries up for years, 12-17 yards time after time, and to mix it up a quick pitch to the RB.
  12. I prefer to defer, unless it was Chip's offense in its prime, then go ahead, score in a minute and half. But for this team, I put the defense on the field first, they get a stop, we get the ball back, and get the ball again at the start of the second half.
  13. I missed The Pick game but for Autzen at its best from pre-game to the end I have to say it was BYU at Oregon, September 29, 1990. The Brand hadn't been established yet, but it was even louder than it was when Lloyd Carr and Michigan couldn't hear a thing on September 23, 2003.
  14. Yeah, but I try to every Saturday So, on this Saturday, I will actually want Mari to beat Jimbo.
  15. Why 1984 should be dismissed.
  16. Oregon 37 BYU 29 3 turnovers 2 sacks 264 passing yards
  17. Precisely. I want to see Gang Green, actually I want to see the Kamikaze Kids football version. A swagger that tells BYU that they are going to be punished every minute they're on the field. When the BYU QB looks over the defense, I want him to feel the stares back at him. Forget second effort, the Ducks will be showing 3rd and 4th. Want to try a pass over the middle? After the first one none of the receivers will want to try that again. Running game? Fuggetta bout it, After the game Coach Lanning will meet the BYU Coach, extend his hand, "Good game" he'll say and smile.
  18. Hear, hear!
  19. Like poison ivy, or a dripping faucet, or a migraine, or insomnia
  20. DNC covered the game very well here, what I'm really anxious to see is the D that had me so excited for this season. It certainly wasn't there against Georgia and EWU wasn't a real test. I was envisioning a Gang Green renaissance. If the Ducks can make it feel like 1990 against BYU...
  21. Just thinking and typing, which can be tricky, but Elway & Plunkett, maybe the great Joe Kapp, from Stanford and Cal...and of course Dan Fouts from Oregon are the best QB's the Pac has produced in the NFL of course USC gave us all Sanchez. Herbert is on his way yo being better than all of them!
  22. Considering that their Bandwagon Fanbase had the Trojans in the Playoffs as soon as Riley was hired, No.7 has to feel like an insult.
  23. That's right, I still don't see how the Pups beating up on Kent State and Portland State makes them even with No.11 Michigan State. Regarding UW, we may have to acknowledge just how bad a coach Lake was, and that The Boar could actually make a positive change. I know that it's fortunate that the game against BYU is at Autzen, those 3 HF points will certainly help.
