  1. It would be Shakespearean if the Trail Blazers replaced the Super Sonics in Seattle.
  2. That is a race that would be won by a nose. 2007 sure looked like the champ, but id DAT makes the block, and the Ducks go against ND in the Natty? The Ducks have been SO close!!!!
  3. This would great case of gluttony. The SEC will definitely be biting off more than they can chew with this. People do watch the Championship game. But it's because it is The Championship Game, not because the SEC is in it. The SEC, Sankey, Finebaum, both realize that the monopoly that the ESECPN has created with the CFP is diluting interest in college football across the country, that the chase for No.1 in a fixed race is killing the sport. Let the SEC break off, the rest of the country will be just fine.
  4. Another "what if" a Duck QB doesn't go down. Dixon, 2007, is still the biggest of these since, as David points out, the defense in 2015 wasn't taking the Ducks to the championship, and as dynamic as was Adams in 2015, he wasn't going to win the Heisman. The overthrow to Adams is still one of the most painful plays in Oregon history.
  5. Great point. Since the Chip years Stanford has definitely been the Ducks' arch nemesis but I and apparently, we Duck fans don't have the hatred towards them that we do for the Huskies. A reason for this I think is that despite how many times each team wrecked the other's seasons, it didn't generate a lot of talk. In this case, while there was fire, there wasn't any smoke.
  6. I haven't hated the Beavers since the basketball battles in the 70's. Back in Pleasant Hill we were heavy Ducks, but there were a couple of Beavs, and yes, one of them made his orthodontist a lot of money. I hated the Beavs then! But now, the Beavs are an annoying noise, and beating them silences it. The Huskies are also a Noise. But they are Rock Band that had some hits, 50 years ago! They think they still sound good, (how good they ever sounded is debatable). They keep bringing in new "talent" but can't hit the notes anymore. So, there is no doubt that beating the Huskies is more important, and not just for us, but the world really.
  7. Losing to either hurts a lot, but a win over the Huskies is the top.
  8. It is, the big advantage the Ducks had over the Wildcats, who were coming off a series win over the Beavers, was their pitching.
  9. USC is happy to take Oregon's leftovers.
  10. "Touchdown, LaMichael James!" We heard Jerry Allen say that many times, and usually less than 2 seconds after he got the ball.
  11. Comparing Oregon and Washington It hasn't been that often, unless Chip Peterson meant Stanford and just misspelled it, Washington.
  12. The loss of their Ace, Brooke Yanez definitely hurt. The positive? The pitchers that were available got time in the circle. Lombardi has done a great job with the team including recruiting. The Pac is loaded in softball and the Ducks will be competing for the top next season.
  13. That's certainly in contention; the time, down and yardage make it even more compelling. The Pick broke the Huskies' back, but it didn't end the game.
  14. If you're going to be compared to a quarterback, it's nice that it's Aaron Rodgers. Charger starting center Corey Linsley sees similarities in Justin Herbert to Aaron Rodgers 247SPORTS.COM Chargers starting center Corey Linsley spent seven seasons serving as the Green Bay Packers' starting center and he worked...
  15. It seems like they do. Didn't have much trouble with Arizona to end the season, of course they have to beat them again in the first game of the tournament. Very strange season, Oregon takes 2of3 from Stanford, Stanford takes 2of3 from the Beavers, who drop 2of 3 to the Wildcats that the Ducks just swept.
  16. Now of course the question, is Oregon-Washington truly a rivalry? Oregon 15-2 the last 17? Of course, it's 24-24 over the last 50 years, so begrudgingly let's call it a rivalry, and frankly, who would Oregon like to see there every season more that the Big W.
  17. John McKay again, with my favorite, when he was the coach at Tampa Bay What do you think of your team's execution, Coach? I think it's a fine idea. Along with his laughable Southern accent, new LSU coach, Brian Kelly also messed this up.
  18. Interesting how cool Hutson is during Cristobal's tirade.
  19. It would have been better for USC if Addison had strung this out a bit longer, the pre-season hype is their driving force, what are they going to talk about now?
  20. That should get fans into MKA, though actually the local theatre would be the place to go: Oregon Ducks: 5-star Mookie Cook to star as LeBron James in film DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Talk about star power. 5-star Oregon commit Mookie Cook has been cast to play none other than LeBron James in an upcoming...
  21. DanLduck, I know a rant, and that was no rant! The idea to have the championship decided on the field sounded good. But it was fun back when after the games were played everybody waited for the polls to come out, and sometimes they weren't the same and that made it even more fun! It is the only way that Washington got its'ship, but that shouldn't mean it was a terrible system. Oregon probably would have played Miami; it was a computer decided it should be Miami. The BCS and now the ESECPN Show has made football the mess it is now. Expansion isn't the cure, but it's a step.
  22. A great title and story about another way that Chip at Oregon completely revolutionized the sport!
  23. I agree with the "staleness" settling in the same way as Sankey and Paul Finebaum have realized it, the reason the Playoffs have been called "the Invitational". The sport has become all about getting to the Natty and limiting the number of teams that get the chance is bad for the sport.
  24. Absolutely, do that, and we're looking at Najee Harris!
