  1. Guerrier came back a couple of days ago, with Richardson back now the Ducks have a deep and talented team with experience. Will Richardson withdraws from 2022 NBA draft, returns to Oregon Ducks DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon Ducks guard Will Richardson will be back in Eugene for his fifth and final season after he opted to withdraw from the 2022...
  2. I like Georgia, I like Kirby. I wasn't just rooting for Georgia to beat Alabama I really wanted Georgia to win. I can't imagine another team handling the Lanning situation with as much class as Georgia has shown. Much more likely we'd be reading, "Oh Lanning wasn't any good, Kirby did everything, Glad he's gone, to OR Y Gun!!!. Instead, with the upcoming season starting with a game between Oregon and Georgia, the build up couldn't have been better.
  3. Great story. I remember back in the 70's I sent letters to my favorite players. This was way before the internet, so my letter to Willie Mays must have been addressed, Willie Mays San Francisco Giants San Francisco, California and similarly, to Hank Aaron, Bob Gibson, Lou Brock. and others. While at the time it seemed like these Hall of Fame players were sitting in the locker room thrilled to know they were my favorite, more likely some secretary in an office was scribbling away.
  4. This is how I remember Byron as well; I think he has to be among the leaders in Oregon for fewest yards lost, he was always going forward.
  5. At least Todd is consistent, Conference Tournaments are a Crock! The late Lute Olson thought they were ridiculous, and since his Arizona Wildcats basketball teams were winning the conference regularly, he had good reason too. The coaches whose teams weren't as good had a more favorable opinion of them as their team could win and steal a bid. The worst claim by Todd was that "people are watching the Pac-12 tournament", unless they had the Pac-12 network they weren't, and I just watched Oregon's games.
  6. You know what, Charles, I can't think of a single reason for a conference tournament in any sport. The possibility of a team that struggled during the season getting hot, winning the tournament and getting the automatic bid makes no sense at all. Oregon was No.4, first they lost to 5, which isn't crazy, but Oregon just finished sweeping No.5 Arizona a week earlier, then Oregon lost to No.8 ASU. So yeah, why play the season? It's just as silly in basketball.
  7. If I actually bet on football games, I'd love Oregon +17-5. Ohio State didn't take Oregon seriously last season and had deficiencies defensively, I don't see either of these happening with Georgia this season. Georgia lost a lot of their historic defense to the NFL, but Oregon is filling some spaces too. Unless Georgia changes everything, Lanning will know what they're doing; every minute the game is close, Kirby's collar will get tighter. Maybe Lanning's emphasis on special teams will show up in game 1, maybe a turnover. 17 seems reasonable now, I expect it will be closer by kickoff.
  8. The "Pick" is legendary because it was against Washington, and they'll never get over it. In the years, decades, centuries of the Ore-Wa rivalry the Huskies are woeful whiners. One time they actually connected with a punch, and it was 50 years ago in, "The Pit"
  9. Even so, he said that Riley promised that Addison could take his career to new heights with the Trojans. Well, if he promised.
  10. As far as betting, I'd jump on Oregon + 17.5, which is why I imagine the spread will get closer by kickoff?
  11. Remember how it was with the Lady Ducks" You took your eye off the game for an instant you missed a basket, 30 points in a quarter? No big. Graves wants to see Ducks back to playing more up-tempo style next season 247SPORTS.COM Graves wants to see Ducks back to playing more up-tempo style next season
  12. When I saw the title, I thought it was going to be a story about the former Duck, coach and player, Ernie Kent. This was more interesting.
  13. I wasn't happy when White left but was frustrated by the great seasons and flame outs in the NCAA's. It was a money grab for him and Texas, he made that clear, so I appreciated the honesty. It was more painful to see the players leave, and the waters were murky when Lombardi got here. But Lombardi is a proven winner and has done a really good job under the conditions we all recognize. She's getting "her" Ducks now. If these Ducks don't want to stay the door is even easier to see now, and don't let it hit them on their way out.
  14. This is good, Guerrier and new Duck, Keeshawn Barthelemy can build on their relationship next season at Oregon, and Richardson would definitely help the team and himself by coming back next season.
  15. The tern was coined a while back now to describe Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin of the Dallas Cowboys 30 years ago. It's great to see the Chargers recognized, but will they be able to stop the offenses of the other team's next season? Pro Ducks: LA Chargers voted to have best offensive trio in NFL DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Justin Herbert, Austin Eckler, and Keenan Allen? Hard to get better than that.
  16. That's some serious SEC honking there, you can only lose what you have. Oregon has a new coach, a new QB, new OC and DC, Georgia has the Natty in their pocket and is primed for another one. If Georgia doesn't cover with points to spare, it's bad. If Oregon is in the game to the 4th quarter, Lanning and company are off to a great start. The only drama before the game for Oregon is whether Corso and The Duck have a hug.
  17. 14 TD's and tackle the QB, maybe a Huard for a safety, 100, and while green and yellow are gold for Oregon, these uniforms, either way, are in the running for the worst.
  18. It was like a flashback to the Horton era. Did score 6 in the first game, but in both the Ducks, who had done so well during the season, looked completely overmatched offensively. Other teams could lose, but for now, the No.4 Ducks are 0-2, losing to No's 5 and 8.
  19. I'll go with defense, and part of Sewell winning the Butkus Award will be him breaking the Oregon single season tackles record of 206, set by Tom Graham, 1969.in 11 games. They finished, 5-5-1.
  20. If Sewell wins it, it will be 2 in a row for Lanning. It would be first back-to-back for a coach, the only other BTB was when the Boz won the first and second awards at Oklahoma. Oregon's Noah Sewell tabbed by On3 as Butkus Award favorite - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Oregon's hard-hitting, disruptive sophomore linebacker could be one of the top players at his position in 2022.
  21. Love watching the Playoffs, it's better in person, but even without a "team" the chase for the Cup is exciting and OT is as good as it gets, watching the last 4 minutes of an NBA game is about it.
  22. It would be Shakespearean if the Trail Blazers replaced the Super Sonics in Seattle.
