  1. It's Alabama's world and the rest of the teams are just playing games.
  2. Okay, so now Texas joins USC and Washington in their obsession with Oregon. My Psych 101 professor termed this active inferiority complex.
  3. Great point, A lot is said about continuity being a plus in a coaching staff. That would be actively worked against with a coach from the old staff staying with a new one.
  4. Come on, Brett Shad Kahn, an Illinois alumni . Kahn is an Illinois alumnus, maybe an alum, (singular), not an alumni, (plural)
  5. Thanks for this LADuck. I don't need to tell you or anybody else here how a topic like this one would go at other sites, where listening to a droning presentation would be a pleasant alternative.
  6. Great article, Alex, reading it, and all the responses, had me thinking all sorts of ways. I finally find myself applying Occam's Razor, and come the opening game against Georgia, start the best quarterback. It might be Nix. It does seem strange that none of the other QB's could grasp the offense last season, except that they wanted to go beyond Cristobal's constrictions, and it suited Brown better, so he stayed. Nix will have a familiarity with schemes at the start. But I'm hoping that all the QB's will get time and be evaluated before the starter is decided.
  7. I miss both. Have no interest in Participation Bowls unless I have a rooting interest in at least one of the teams, and I haven't been able to watch an NBA game from start to finish for 30 years. The fact that BlazersEdge has as much traffic as it does just amazes me.
  8. I agree, in-game momentum is very real, it was a huge component of Kelly's offense, whil Mario's offense stifled any momentum from the start.
  9. And yet Todd McSham gets paid millions by ESPN for his QB analysis!!!
  10. I would hope it's the portal. And probably not bad, as you suggested have so many bigs makes it hard for all of them to contribute to the team.
  11. Oregon State only played the first 5 minutes of their game.
  12. Thanks for remembering that!. A small move in itself, but huge in what it meant.
  13. Of course Jon, the game is not what it once was. I never had more fun going to the games as a kid in the 70's, even when the Ducks were awful. The Bowl games meant something. I grew up watching the Buckeyes, Archie winning two Heisman's. Anthony Davis scoring 6 TD's for the Trojans against Notre Dame, and I'll never forget just standing around Autzen on the way to my seat watching Ricky Bell run all over the Ducks. Going to and watching the Ducks was so much fun back then, and nobody could follow them the way we can follow a team now. Yeah, Washington thinks it won a 'ship in 91. So that's a drawback to how it used to be. But it was just fine getting to the end of the season and finding out who No. 1 was,
  14. That did hurt when Johnny went to ASU, with what seemed like 10 other WR's.
  15. Like Washington, USC's media-fans are preoccupied with all things Oregon. to the degree that what they're getting at becomes fuzzy.
  16. SC is right in that Lanning needs some X's & O's masters on his staff to accompany the hard pushing recruiters. So far it doesn't look like Lanning will be doing Dillingham's job for him, so that's a positive sign.
  17. I think USC Wire might want to take another look at which team has the better coaching staff.
  18. Led by Will Richardson's 19 points and Nathan Bittle's best game, the Ducks end the non-conference part of the season with a win. Ducks Enter Break on a Winning Note GoDucks Rob Moseley
