Dan Lanning is the New Face of College Football, Says Big Ten Analyst
30Duck replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Has he been reading our posts? -
“Nobody wants to see Notre Dame in there, either, bro,” Newton said. “Notre Dame is college football’s Dallas Cowboys. Like, nobody wants to see them. Do they have a legacy organization and program? Rudy, Rudy! Yeah, that’s about the last time we’ve seen these type of things. There’s no such thing as a Cinderella story in college football. Every time you try to root for the underdog, they get smashed. Come on, now.”

Are their tarmac's in Oxford?

That was the title of the article, I kept reading and reading, and I didn't see it, Then there it was, Oregon has been penalized 68 times, for 543 yards, Penn State, 59 yards, 532 yards. That's it, the fatal flaw that could win the game for Penn State.

“I know people around the world think everything is steered and directed toward the SEC. It may seem like that on Sunday,” said Finebaum. “I think that’s how it’s going to end up.”

FishDuck’s Special B1G Championship Game Analysis

The art of calling a game is to be like Vin Scully, Verne Lundquist, Al Michaels, Keith Jackson. The game is the important thing, NOT YOU!!! -
I agree it is on the players. But if it reaches the point where the coach is just "noise", it's game over. The players won't all get cut, some might leave, via the portal, the coach is the one shown the door. It's not right, the players should focus on their game, they're the ones who aren't making the plays. You showed how Lanning handled it, and he doesn't have a crazed fanbase to deal with.

Oregon’s New Play: What the TV Analysts Missed…

Anything that makes Carter a non-factor is a success. Like his predecessor, Micah Parsons, he's the catalyst of PSU's defense. -
Maybe There is No BIG Championship Game Saturday
30Duck replied to Massduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
That's pretty bad. We've discussed before, and actually put a positive spin on the lack of Oregon talk, "Oregon's No.1, they're beating Penn State on Saturday., Nothing to see here. The story though is what about Alabama under 1st year coach, Kalen DeBoer. What's going to play out on Saturday to get them in the Playoffs and keep this thrilling season going for Roll Tide!" Oregon's become old news. -
Doesn't look like Urban's interested. "It has come to my attention that there are reports speculating my return to the sidelines in Columbus," the Fox Sports analyst said Thursday in a social media statement. "While I thoroughly enjoyed my seven seasons as head coach at The Ohio State University, I have no interest in coaching again. I will always be a Buckeye and have full confidence in Ryan Day, his staff, and every player that puts on the Scarlet and Gray."

I think that's a misspelling of Yucks, which is part of the lexicon in Huskyville. -
I heard a conversation that said getting rid of Day and his staff would cost osu2 around $85 M. Urban looks really happy on TV, wouldn't want to tarnish his legacy, Freeman played there, he got out, why would he go back? Vrabel is still one of the 1st coaches to get hired when a NFL job opens. It looks like Day and osu2 are stuck with each other.

It does seem that while Lanning is the personification of if you love what you're doing, you ain't workin', while Day signed a contract to be the administrator of a lunatic asylum.

FishDuck’s Special B1G Championship Game Analysis
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I have nightmares about what TE's have done to Duck D's in the past, but this D won't let that happen. It sems like whatever Penn State can bring, Oregon can match up with, whereas Pen State doesn't have the weaponry that Oregon has, and will really be in trouble if OBD gets up early. No doubt, and I don't think this is a problem unique to the Ducks; it's better to just take it in for 6 than to get stopped in the red zone, particularly when your offense does get lots of explosion plays. Ferg doesn't have stats like Warren and a big reason is because he isn't the number 1 target. This is where Oregon has the biggest advantage. -

This Husky Honk doesn't like our coach. I have never and will never ever root for the yukes and after watching that crazy fucked up halftime circus their hc instigated I hope no loyal Husky will ever either. That sob is sick and needs help if the last thing he thinks about before going to bed each night is the UW football team. Come on Kirby Smart or Sark please kick their butt in the CFB playoffs and keep them in their place as classless also rans and never the best team money can buy national champions!!! -
I won't automatically get mad if Alabama gets in, depends on who's bumped.

No.12 Ranked Oregon Men Win at USC 68-60!

In the coaches poll, Oregon is ahead of Alabama. Not only did Oregon beat Alabama, but the Quality wins are in Oregon's favor, San Diego State, Texas A & M, Alabama. Alabama has Illinois, Rutgers. -

The Pac-10 did play everybody, talk about a specious argument. As HDuck points out, and the scheduling did Oregon no favors, they played the best of the B1G. If Indiana had been expected to do as well as they did, Oregon would have played them instead of Purdue.

Looking ahead to this week’s matchup, let’s check out the latest college football predictions from the Football Power Index computer prediction model. The model simulates every NCAA college football game 20,000 times and uses key analytics from both teams and picks winners based on a projected scoring margin per game. In total, the Longhorns came out ahead in 12,300 of the index’s calculations of the matchup, while the Bulldogs edged out Texas in the other 7,700 predictions.
