That makes a lot of sense. Thank you!

It's a Husky fan, but they and Beavis fans are interchangeable at this point. UW has a Championship banner too!
-
UW fans don't have much to see with their team... Phil Knight, Pat Kilkenny, and the other duhk bros can keep pouring money into shiny facilities for UO athletics, the UO can allow itself to be taken over by the sports nut boosters but the UO will still be a second rate educational institution and Eugene will still be a hole. As a native Oregonian, I think the whole thing is kinda sad. Meanwhile, Oregon State University continues to increase its enrollment and focus on the real mission of actually educating the citizenry.

Maybe he'll have the time. But all of the other facts that you stated and I agree with, go for Day being a great recruiter, where the talent overwhelms most of the teams on the schedule. But when he's up against teams with close to the talent. Day doesn't have it. All season we've seen Lanning making coaching moves, including against Day and Ohio State. Saban pulled Hurts and put in Tua. Day didn't do anything while losing to Michigan, when he had a huge talent advantage.

After a major push by the Ducks during the recruiting process, five-star 2025 tight end Linkon Cure announced Wednesday that he'll be staying committed to his home-state Kansas State Wildcats and will sign with the team. He explained his decision during an exclusive interview with 247Sports. "They were the first ones to believe in me," Cure told 247Sports. "They really took a chance on me and they never stopped recruiting me hard. . . . It honestly means everything."

Day is a great recruiter, he has NFL talent across the board, and a great record, except in the games that really matter. osu2 is coming up short in these; where that talent isn't enough, when Day has to outcoach the guy on the other side. He didn't against Lanning or against first year coach, Moore, at Michigan.

Oh Goody! We Could Play Penn State and Ohio State TWICE!
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I will defend Alabama here. Yes, they have three L's, Miami has 2, and even if their W's through video review were correct, why was Miami in that situation with mediocre teams like Virginia Tech, 6-6 & Cal, 6-6? Alabama has wins over Georgia. South Carolina, Missouri. What is Miami's big win? Vandy was a bad loss, but was it worse than Miami blowing a 21-0 lead to Syracuse? -
This is where I agree with Dave 23's indictment of Day's leadership. "The Buck-eye stops here" with the head coach. Chip was the HC against Auburn, Day is the HC against Michigan. Either he didn't have any problem with Kelly's playcalling or he froze. Neither should be acceptable.

Let's see. There is no more important element of a team's success than the OL. Which of these 3 teams had the most success, against the hardest schedule? The answer is it isn't Army or Texas.
-
Thank you! The COY criteria, of naming the "surprise" coach is ridiculous. What great coaching moves did Cignetti use to navigate Indiana's schedule? Did he push them through adversity? Not quite.
-
This is a good question. Lanning hasn't had a miss yet in bringing in new coaches/coordinators. I think he went sentimental and hired Chip because of his past relationship with him, and to the team's detriment, didn't overrule his playcalling.

On "Inside College Football", after Rick Neuheisel picked the Ducks, citing the versatility of OBD's offense, Brian Jones said, "I'm going with Penn State", his reasoning was, "if Penn State can consistently get Oregon in 3rd & long, they could be in trouble." How did none of the coaches Oregon played think of that?

But What if We Lose the Big Ten Championship?
30Duck replied to Thomallister1291's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If they are actually using protocols, rather than, Eye Test, I'm happy. These factors make sense to me. SOR is the best tool. I think Alabama should be in before Miami. -
Day is safe...for now. But, despite the win over osu2, Michigan just fired their OC. Michigan fired offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell on Tuesday, ending his three-year tenure with the team and his first as playcaller. Campbell oversaw an offense that had slipped to 112th nationally in scoring and 129th in passing this fall, while using three different starting quarterbacks. He served as Michigan's quarterbacks coach in 2022, mentoring eventual first-round NFL draft pick J.J. McCarthy when the team won its first national championship since 1997.

Meanwhile, osu2 has 3 1st Teamers, on offense & defense.

Dillon Gabriel: Big 10 Offensive Player of the Year!
30Duck replied to kirklandduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Well deserved, not bad for a QB in his first year with a new team. Fortunately, the new team is the No.1 team in the country. Gabriel's only flaw is INT's in the red zone. He has been game manager, the same way Mahomes is a game manager. -
Please, Ryan, explain why you think you still qualify for the B1G Championship game?

But What if We Lose the Big Ten Championship?
30Duck replied to Thomallister1291's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I really don't know we have any reason to expect a committee, of 13 people propped by ESPIN, operating without recognized criteria, to produce a clean bracket. -
A trait often found in Oregon rivals.

But What if We Lose the Big Ten Championship?
30Duck replied to Thomallister1291's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This is why you should never expect the "Committee" to do the logical thing. The entire premise of the Playoff selection is chaos, and yeah, afterwards it looks like their decisions worked, like letting an Alabama in without even winning their division. But they won the championship. That doesn't mean it was the right decision, another team would have won it if Alabama hadn't been there. -
In the lead-up to the Big Ten Championship, Penn State Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin stirred controversy with comments aimed at the Oregon Ducks. The Ducks, led by Dan Lanning, arrive with an impressive 12-0 record, but Franklin suggested that Oregon’s success stems from its “tremendous resources.” His remarks, made in an interview with Mike Poorman, imply that the Ducks enjoy significant financial advantages in the NCAA, overlooking the hard work and planning behind their achievements.

Exactly, that's why Prime is in the NFL Hall of Fame.

A lot of great receivers, so I can understand Tez, second team is acceptable for Boettcher, Burch missed games. But I really think that Harmon is better than 3rd team!

ESPN Calls Oregon Ducks 'Least Interesting' Team After 12-0 Season?
30Duck replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I agree. Alabama has been interesting this season. We discussed it here weeks ago, Oregon isn't getting talked about! That's great. "Oregon won again. Still unanimous No.1. Moving on" No chaos, except manufactured clickbait about Lanning leaving. Hopefully OBD stay boring for a long time.
