I know this game is pretty much over, but Oregon's players haven't quit. -

What the heck... This is damning evidence of how bad the play calling has been under MC. You can see the confidence growing in the offense. -

Stoops has something I never saw from MC... A Take No Prisoners, Killer Instinct! Oregon needs to learn to turn on the jets and keep the pedal to the metal! -

Moorhead: "Anthony has had a Phenomenal Season"

Re-name the U... "Miasma" -
Yup, came to Oregon on scholarship in 1959, to play with his friend, John Robinson... Later transferred to Cal Poly. John Madden and Keith Jackson were my two favorite football broadcasters, pro or college. I can imagine the two bumping into each other at some ethereal sports venue in the sky: "BAM!" followed by a mighty, "Whooooa, Nelly!", and a giant bear hug... What a thunder storm THAT would be!

This list is a microcosm of some of Oregon's issues this season... Close to half (fifteen) of the "missing" players are out with injuries... That has been a glaring problem all year. Three (count 'em, 3) opt outs... OK has ten , 4 on the D line alone! Four are in the portal or have already transferred to other programs. 2 players, Wilhoite and Greenfield have been away from the team all year. That's 22 players who might have been contributors... 2 others were never an option Who knows why Addison, Jackson, LaDuke, Aumavae, Laloulu, Shipley, or Williams have not been at practice? The only news here is that pretty much nothing has changed. Oregon winning this game would be a pretty impressive end to this season, even if it isn't Duck fans "DREAM FINISH"!

Moorhead: "Anthony has had a Phenomenal Season"
woundedknees replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Do I want the Ducks to win every game? After seeing the 12-0 performance a few seasons ago, I realize it's 'possible', but for all but a very few teams, unlikely. It's "lightning in a bottle". AB gave everything he had, occasionally exceeding his own limitations. I find it disappointing, to put it mildly, that coaches did not seize the chance to find how well the younger players might have navigated the waters of adversity when AB struggled mightily, at times. THAT, is not on AB. It sits solely on the shoulders and in the hands of the Oregon coaches, whether out of fear, denial, or pure, ornery, stubbornness. Grandpa owned a jackass when I was a kid. That cantankerous critter had a small corral, with a 10' wide creek (which, in the summer, might have been less than a foot deep), separating it from 70 acres of open, green, pasture. There was a well constructed, 12' wide bridge across that mighty body of water. The epitome of "mule headed" is th fact that the only way we could get him into the pasture was to hook his halter to the John Deere, and lead (or drag, if you will) 200 pounds of donkey to the other side. That is what I witnessed from MC lead Oregon coaches this season, in a nutshell. -
As nearly all these guys are, I would be looking at this as an opportunity to leave a positive final impression... "Look at this! See what we did, there!" It's one moment in the progression of their careers, but I would want it to be the best effort I/we could give. Put a gold star on your resume', guys! This could be a Wikipedia moment! Otherwise... You will forever be a DINO: Duck.In.Name.Only

OT - Anyone Else Seeing Snow Mixed in with the Rain?
woundedknees replied to Annie's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I have a friend in London, Oregon... It's a couple miles above the head of Cottage Grove Reservoir. He says they woke up to 13" of fresh snow and no power. Last time they lost power his family was without it for more than 10 days, Wish for a white Christmas? Be careful what you ask for! -

Thanks! That O was my grandson's Christmas present to his late uncle (My rabid Duck fan son), a couple year's ago. The snow definitely highlights the view! -

My daughter's Lhasa-Poo spends a lot of time moping in front of the fireplace... The only time she's happy with the Christmas sweater is when the bacon comes out! The rest of the time. it's the stink eye!

Oh No! Oregon is Losing Nate Costa
woundedknees replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Nate, at one point, was the heir apparent to the starting position prior to a pre-season knee injury. He had a history of knee surgery before initially joining the Ducks. The poor guy was cursed... The injuries eventually forced him to give up his dream of being a police officer. The football gods finally seem to be smiling on him. -

Ducks: Growing Pains, Youth Movement and Recruiting

The biggest thing I remember about Brooks is FIRE... He brought a level of grit and intensity to the locker room that few Oregon coaches, if any, have shown since.
