  1. And I'll say it... I'm going to have to wash my mouth out afterwards. But Penix probably should have won it last year. Daniels was incredible but the Heisman has tended to go to great teams and LSU was good but not great. Washington had some more meaningful wins than LSU. Heisman voting is as much regional as it is about statement wins. This year will be interesting in that regard. Does Gabriel get the B1G and West Coast votes? Does that propel him to victory?
  2. The fumble wasn't going to get looked at according to the commentators for two reasons if I recall. 1. The ball was loose but no one jumped on it right away. I think Harmon picked it up after a couple seconds but I guess that was not good enough. 2. The whistle was blown early when forward progress was stopped which was before the ball came out. I think both reasons are frankly weak. In the case of numbers one it was clear that a Duck picked up the football. No return possible but Oregon would get the ball. As for the second, I haven't watched a replay close enough to see/hear the whistle blow. Either way... Big time failure by the refs.
  3. Do the Huskies even want him? That's the real question. Let's ask their fans.
  4. Easy rule ... If the crowd is throwing stuff and booing the refs then no review on the previous play is allowed to the benefit of team. Ok... Maybe not an easy rule because let's be honest it is loaded with loopholes and problems. But I completely agree. Two weeks in a row where the crowd has thrown stuff in the field and the refs are not holding up well against it.
  5. And this is why Americans are not know for their geographical knowledge. Just because we can SEE mountains doesn't mean we are IN them.
  6. Would it be cool to get another Heisman? Absolutely. Right now Gabriel and the Ducks have 3 top 25 wins. The other front runners can't say that.
  7. But they are using Whittington like I said they should in the article. Get the guy in space! I'm thrilled he's getting back to his older firm. But until this last game I don't think any of us felt comfortable with his overall role in the team and his output.
  8. Still waiting to see what happens when Miami has to play a ranked team.
  9. Still living in their heads rent free. And we're getting BETTER with every week. Still plenty of season left. But looking at how Ohio State played against Nebraska, a team that lost to Illinois, they don't look like they've done much improving. Don't get me wrong. They're still very good.
  10. Hey if he wants to prove me wrong, I'm completely fine with that. He had one good run up the gut but it also had some fantastic blocking making a nice hole for him and the rest of his plays were really in space. So I'll keep saying it. Get that guy in space where he can use his power to his advantage. He's not that tall so he can get low with a lot of power and we saw him just break some defenders because he used that to his advantage. He's not great against defensive lineman in the trenches but get him out of the line of scrimmage and he's good. Mr. Whittington you are welcome to continue to prove me wrong.
  11. No... They're still living in the past waiting to kick that field goal they feel the deserve.
  12. I really want to see us break 40 points consistently this season. We've only done it once. Oh well...maybe against Michigan.
  13. Lackluster second half..good first half but still not a complete game.
  14. Let's at least get more than 40 first. Only one game this year where we've scored more than 40.
  15. Injuries happen. Also... I thought Ohio State had the most depth in the country.
  16. Look at the bright side with this... We all know college players read and listen to all this stuff whether intentionally or not. If Oregon is being disrespected week after week that's what the players will hear. That will either keep or create a chip on their shoulder and will help keep contentment at bay. Constantly hearing that your biggest win of the year doesn't count because it was only by one point is great motivation. Meanwhilr Ohio State has been kinda sleepy against Nebraska so far. Also... As for Oregon's win over Boise State. Great teams grow as the year goes on. Oregon has grown so much and I think if the game were replayed today, Oregon wins by a significant margin. I'm not sure Ohio State has done much growing. Even after their loss to Oregon.
  17. We'll see how good OSU is going down the stretch this year. One of the best things about Oregon's win was that it was followed by an Ohio State bye week. We've been living rent free in their heads for an extra week. Ohio State gets to prove how good they are this week. And next week and so on and so forth.
  18. Oregon 42-6 3 4 sacks 298 passing yards
  19. That's a pretty bad missed call. I'm a sport that is determined to say they care about player safety missing any call around facemasking or targeting (whatever the NFL equiois) is bad. But it makes everyone angrier when a missed call results in negative points.
  20. It will probably start out loud .. but if the game gets out of hand it'll quite down.
  21. I'll be honest... I have less concern about his knee and more concern about his eyes. His speed is pretty good and he is running great. But he just doesn't seem to see the openings in those runs between the tackles. In space he does great... so get him the ball in space.
  22. Lanning said that Holden will be available on Saturday in a press conference. I imagine we see him at some point.
  23. Limar reminds me a lot of Thomas Tyner. They are similar in build but also once Tyner figured out the college game he just took off. However, Tyner was basically immediately injured and went into medical retirement and his return to football at Oregon State wasn't much to write about. But my point is that if you look at Tyner in that 2015 Rose Bowl game and in the 2015 National Title game (where he should have gotten the ball more) he was just a force on the field. I find Limar is in the same spot, so If he can get his reads right in the run game he has the size and the speed to make some big plays.
  24. I mean ... the whole thing is ridiculous... but it's the abs that get me every time. I'ds love to see this come back for one game as a joke with the Duck on the sideline.
  25. I'll be honest... I'm kinda bummed about the new uniforms. They made a big deal about how the B1G logos were all going to be the same silver across the entire line of uniforms to help make all the pieces interchangeable. However, We really just seem to have two sets of uniforms. We have the old school inspired Greens and Whites. Then we have the new school inspired yellow and black. Because the old school uniforms use an older darker yellow color they can't really cross over with the new school. Like you can't use that yellow helmet with the highlighter yellow jerseys. Don't get me wrong I think both packages look great but it just feels like we don't have as many mix-and-match combos this year.
