  1. The current B1G media rights are with Fox, CBS and NBC (which owns Peacock). ESPN and ABC (also owned by Disney) will not have any B1G games unless they are big enough to be cross conference games. On the flip side Disney owns SEC media rights so there won't be any SEC games on Fox. Disney also holds onto the ACC's media rights, though some games from the ACC network will run on the CW, however, Notre Dame is independent and their media rights are held by NBC. The Big 12 is the only P4 conference that bridges the two overlords of college football as their media rights are shared by both Fox and EPSN. We have seen a consolidation of college football into really two camps: Fox and ESPN. The New Overlords of College Football | FishDuck FISHDUCK.COM This will come as no surprise to any of you, but the NCAA is dead. It ceded away its power to the major conferences through its... With all this power these two media companies have they killed the Pac-12, whether you are happy about that or not that is what happened. How Fox and ESPN Dismantled the Pac-12 | FishDuck FISHDUCK.COM FOX and Disney/ESPN control virtually all of college sports. The Pac-12 has failed to make a deal with either of these. As a result… And behind the scenes are absolutely stirring the pot to kill the ACC. The ACC Is Next on the Chopping Block for Conference Realignment |... FISHDUCK.COM Last year I wrote an article about the Coming College Football Schism where there will be two conferences that are composed... I hate to say it... but the problem as to where to get college football games in the coming seasons is probably going to get worse... not better.
  2. I think there are 5 uniform sets supposed to come out. So far we have seen the Green and White (90's inspired throwbacks) and the Black uniform (a combo of elements from the 2010's). We haven't seen yellow or an a plainer white yet. There was a leaked item from the Duck store that seemed to reveal the all white that is more akin to the stormtrooper look. These pants are probably part of that set to be honest.
  3. I'm going to be honest... I don't love that yellow color outside of the throwback uniforms. It just feels a little out of place when the uniform is trying to go for a green and white combo like this.
  4. Pretty much all the streaming companies that aren't named Netflix or Disney are losing money. So that'll probably happen.
  5. This needs a white helmet instead. Then it'd look real good. It kinda just feels like they couldn't find the right pants so wore what they could find. It feels disjointed.
  6. I remember reading somewhere that Stewart left the game looking frustrated. I can see why now... he was open on so many plays for touchdowns and one of the few balls thrown his way was a pressured pass that was a bit too far out of his reach. I'm hoping we see this team come alive this week and beyond. So much talent and we just need to see it explode!
  7. Whittington didn't have enough games last year to show me otherwise but I do think there is something to this. In 2022 Whittington had some good games and some games where he just didn't get anything done. The biggest red flag plays I find with Whittington are the fly sweeps. He just can't seem to hit the edge on those plays and get vertical. He gets hit and dragged down at the line of scrimmage. He had the same problem in 2022. Whenever I see him in that play I just know it will get two yards max. It's a dud play that was called multiple times. Maybe the offensive line and TEs fail to block it but I just don't think Whittington has the speed to stretch the field like that. Whittington is a change of pace back... But honestly I feel if they want to run a fly sweep it should be Tez or Bryant (when healthy) getting the ball.
  8. Oregon played down to Idaho... Personally I wouldn't rank them in the top 10. The mystery with USC at this point, who do have a better win than Oregon hands down, is we don't know how good that win is. Is LSU going to play for the SEC championship or are they a middling team? Is USC also a middling team and we saw two evenly matched but middling team duel it out? Is USC legit? Is anyone legit? Rankings this early don't mean anything.
  9. Practice report today was reassuring from the Gabriel interview. He was saying the practice had picked up. Assuming it's true. That Idaho game was the least energy a Duck team has put forward from start to finish in the Lanning era. The Ducks have had slow starts and sloppy starts at times under Lanning. But that Idaho game has the offense feel comatose from start to almost finish. The defense saved the day with that last minute interception that allowed the offense to take a knee. I was having Cristobal flashbacks where the Ducks played down to their competition every game..
  10. Right now I am personally putting forward more optimism than I feel. Kinda trying to force myself to be happier than I actually am about the outcome of that game.
  11. Two reasons... 1. Anyone who watched the game could see that this Duck team was lacking in energy and meeting its potential. Gabriel did throw for a ton of yards but the Ducks failed to punch in all those yards into points. Fix some of the red zone mistakes and the Ducks score 40, a good many of those mistakes were self inflicted. Those would all be cleaned up in a week. 2. Betting lines are designed to encourage people to bet. A lot of people still feel the Ducks should win by 19.5 points this Saturday or a lot of people feel that's not possible. Betting lines are less about the outcome and more about getting people to separate themselves from their money and to do that it's about creating a line that feels plausible one way or another.
  12. And it came true!!! It brings me great joy to know the suffering of the FSU fan base. I know we've only ever played them once but still ... Don't like that team or fanbase. Though I am thankful they took Willie Taggart off our hands. So no hard feelings for that one at all.
  13. The part of the Lanning locker room so each we heard was great. I am also 100% sure they didn't record most of it. The video hits the right notes as to how we're all feeling about this game. It's short and still worth a watch.
  14. Their stadium probably has enough empty seats for these games that if they are desperate enough they can show up in person.
  15. That comes on October 12th. We can smack Ohio State out of Autzen in style and then be above the radar. But for now silent running.
  16. You know what makes me feel better. We aren't Florida State. They had about just as lofty expectations this year and they may start the season 0-2. At least we are 1-0. On Saturday we get a chance to prove ourselves again and hopefully don't disappoint this time around.
  17. The problem for OSU and WSU joining the MW is that they'd both be fairly good MW teams. They'd completely overturn the conference. Usually in the conference realignment is that the conferences adding teams want big brands that won't upend their current status quo. Looks like Texas might be a surprise in the SEC in a few years. If Oregon gets its act together we could still be a surprise to the B1G this year. USC might also be a surprise to the B1G this year as well.
  18. Running under the radar is where we have thrived. So let's have some quiet running for awhile.
  19. My bad on that one. I thought it was off a failed 4th down conversation or a fumble. I guess I'm blanking on parts of the game because the whole thing was so awful.
  20. Both scoring drives also started in Oregon territory. Idaho struggled to get to midfield if they had to drive the entire thing.
  21. Well without a significant jump in improvement... Yeah I'd say that's fair if not generous.
  22. Lots of football to be played. Oregon has a great shot at redemption this weekend. Having a game that feels like a loss but isn't one on the stat sheet can be a very good thing to get everyone on track.
  23. Pickard was playing center right? When he was in... I think coaches getting too cute and rotating offensive linemen was part of the problem as well on Saturday. I guess if this is true that Pickard played well it might mean everyone having a week to get their heads out of their collective tears and working together as a unit might help us see a drastic turnaround.
