  1. Coug fan js coming in droves!!! MacAfee is going to be verbally, signage, accosted!! It should be EPIC!!!!
  2. Imo, Rising doesn't need another year to prove his worth. 6 games left in the season is NOT worth aggravating an injury that is or is not healed yet. Sadly, this is the preseason for next year for Utah. Its not about Oregon, its about coming off an incredibly serious injury. Getting back to playing form takes a while.
  3. I truly do not know if Colorado is for real or not. U$C has an anemic defense. But, Oregon held Colorados vaunted passing attack to 0 points. The backups allowed Colorado to score only 1 TD at the end of the game. 7 sacks?......nuff said. Against Washington I predict Penix plays much better but Oregon still stifles their output. 37-28 Oregon
  4. It only truly works if you keep winning. 'nobody believes in us' works while you win. But, when you lose? Thats reality. And reality usually hits...'home'.
  5. Don't be scared of trash talk leading up to the game. But, let the plays talk for themselves during the game. After the game?? SCOREBOARD!! 38-27 Oregon. Our D is picking it up. This will be the 'D'ifference!
  6. Interestingly enough, I'm super high on our O'line. And yet, there is only 1-5*. Thats a position that is critical and yet, give these kids 1-2 years to fill out into a MAN and they are solid material. Getting the QB to play at his potential needs a solid O'line. I believe we have that. I would love Baker, and I truly hope he comes. But, if I had to choose one or the other? We NEED D'line disruptors!!! Our offense hasn't really been an issue for 15 years. Its our defense that has been more of the weakness. Think about TT offense. Not polished, but pretty good. So, heavy lean on D'line recruits like Lanning has been doing so far.
  7. There's another player that stood out to me. In fact, he smacked the college world in the face with his aggressive play. Dowdell hit the hole like a freight train!! He was consistently getting 4-5 yards after first contact. Absolutely impressive!! We need more CowBell...errrr DowDell!!!!
  8. Oregon and U$C get into the playoffs and then play each other in the title game..... OREGON WINS!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. ...and yet the media talks about Billboards. And you know good and well the kids in HS are watching it as well. By the way, last time I remember a billboard erected in NYC?........ The kid was invited to the Heisman Ceremony. Pretty good odds huh???
  10. Whaaaaaatt???!!!! Talk about entitlement. He hasnt even played this year yet and they are on the band wagon?? Here's one for them, a Heisman is for the year you play not for 5 years ago. If anything, Auburn Hurt that kids development by having as many OC's for him as years he played. If Bo wins this year itsin large part to his adaptability with so many OC's over his College playing days. He struggled and then adapted. If he wins this year, he will have shown more than just play making ability but mental fortitude as well. That's on Bo himself and not on Auburn. Good Grief!!
  11. And, we have already achieved one transfer due to conference realignment.
  12. 12 out of 31. Thats how many 1st round picks were 'Ranked' outside of the top 250 on Rivals coming out of High School. That tells me that you must be a great evaluater of talent. Also, these kids need all their years in college to make it. To your question Fish, I've always felt we would garner 1-2 5* this year. I dreamed of 4 or 5. But, if you lace this squad with top 10 talent in their position, then they are going to mature into mountainous beings. Transfer portal brings the key pieces. Another thing, I would keep the NIL money going to the high 4* and add the Portal Transfer that blossoms late. QB anyone?
  13. OK, are we talking 'Stadium' and 'Venue' or are we talking the crowd at the Stadium? Autzen stadium isn't necessarily something to behold. To be fair, if I could party out on a lake and then just motor up to a Football game thats only walking distance away....?? Let's be fair, that would be awesome!! Sad part is that its Huskey Stadium. Now, if you are asking what Stadium will give you an electric atmosphere and leave you feeling emotional in a good way...??? Yeah, Autzen, one would think, would be top 10 in the nation. I've been to the Rose Bowl. Garbage venue. Its a mile away from the field. At least thats the way it feels.
  14. East coast traveling here could play the 12:30pst/3:30est slot and not affect them. Even a 2:-3:00pst would equate to 6:00est at the latest. Shouldn't affect player participation in the slightest. East coast fans will enjoy the backyard BBQ's in the late afternoon early evening as well. I do not see the down side anywhere. All I see is positives for all involved. Also, schedule the POD play in November. Thats a bit of wishful thinking on my part though.
  15. There is just something about this B1G move that keeps picking at me. Oregon has been doing quite well in recruiting over these last few years and has really started to ramp up this past year. The interesting thing is, Oregon hasn't landed a 5* yet. There's no complaining in Autzen!!! The most we could hope to garner is 2-3 5*'s in a season. And, quite frankly, getting just one 5* is an impressive fete. Now comes the B1G. With Oregon's prowess building steam, one would conclude that those Midwest roadgraders will be more inclined to give Oregon a look. Let's take off our Green and Yellow glasses for a moment and call it what it is. Most B1G schools should be concerned with UW, U$C, and UO calling on those corn fed boys. And with Oregon showing up its going to get harder for PSU, tOSU, and UM to corner the market on the top tier recruits. That's not me being a homer, thats me being realistic. Within 3-4 years, Oregon and U$C will be vying for a championship. With said Championship comes added gravitas in recruiting. Hey tOSU?!! You hate losing to UM and want to fire the coach after said loss? What happens when the losses start piling up with 4-5 really good teams giving you grief? Its ON!!!!!
  16. There is no reason to have so many games at 7:00pm Pacific. The B1G loves to start games at 9:00am Pacific. Scheduling games at 12:00 and 3:00 should be just fine. That's a 6:00pm start Eastern or even a 4:00- 5:00 Pacific would be EPIC timing for must see T.V. 4:00PST/7:00EST. Whats not to like? Make that permanent for the Home games for the POD. All day tailgating with a reasonable kickoff and everyone is home by 10:00. Waaaaaaaaay better than those garbage 7:00 Pacific start times and everyone is home around 1:00am. Yuck!!!
  17. We will also be given more credence for a quality loss as well. In fact 2 losses in the B1G to a top 5 opponent fairs much better than in the PAC. There was a path to the NC in recent years for a multiple loss team from the SEC.
  18. IMO, Colorado is in a unique position. This media deal is just the icing on the cake. First, Colorado js sick of being irrelevant, they are sick of being a bottom feeder, and they are sick of not having the support from the fans. Colorado made the boldest move in all of college football. Everyone is watching Colrado this year, EVERYONE. Now, you have a commited donor base expecting action. They are sick of growing old and not seeing something to be proud of. They are testy and won't put up with this immature mess any longer. Losing seasons for a decade? Thats about to vanish with the Hiring of "Prime". Returning support of fans? Spring game sold out with a $10 seat charge, that's incredible! Now, the iron is red hot and Kliavkoff hasnt produced a media deal. The people behind the scenes are done! Change is in the air so a move isn't hurting anyone right now. Everyone in Colorado is willing to change and are all on board. Leaving the PAC probably makes the most sense out of all the schools. They have had enough and I don't blame them. If Oregon had a losing season for 12 years and finishing it off with a 1-11 record, I'm pretty sure we would all be praising Oregons decision for 'ANYTHING' other than the status quo.
  19. Hmm, George has been saying exactly that for just over a year now. 3 schools have left and rumors are swirling that more may follow. Thats a canned response if ever I've heard one, George. School boards are meeting. Are they united with the PAC? If so, why are they having these meetings pop up upon CU's announcement? Another thing. We all have been excoriating Dennis Dodd over these last few months as if he's some kind of Villian. We need to own it, with egg on our face, he was dead on. The B12 did in fact get a PAC member to defect and just might get more. Maybe Dennis Dodd IS a reputable 'journalist'.
  20. This explosion of Schools going to Conferences that aren't even close to them is sickening. I'm ready for NCAA Football to negotiate under one giant umbrella. Like the NFL! Is this whats going on? Get all the majors together under 3 or 4 major conferences and then negotiate as a unified League? It needs to happen. Then take these schools and put them back geographically where they belong. 4 Divisions of 16 teams. West Coast, East Coast, Southern, and Northern. Why not? There's no loyalty anymore. Its all for the mighty dollar so you might as well unite and tell ESPN/FOX that you want absurd money. Don't get me going, I might tell you how I really feel.
  21. Just a few days ago I mentioned that I don't see Oregon going to the B1G. Then Colorado happened. More astutely, Kliavkoff happened. This is incredibly sad to watch the grinding of the 'Media Contract' take so long. It's inexcusable. Sure, Kliavkoff was dealt an incredibly poor hand and has been trying to hold water with his hands in a wind storm. It's a mess he inherited to be sure, but he took the job....period. Now we have the demise of the PAC at the door step and its just sad. The destruction of a bygone era is upon us and we not look at College sports the same again. This brings me to Oregon's destination. Yes, I've said UO is NOT going to the B1G, but that was under the pretense the PAC survives. Where does this leave Oregon? Well, things have changed and so has my viewpoint. Oregon and Washington to the B1G. Not because I want it, because I don't, but because the B1G can't afford to let the Big12 get them. Gaining Oregon and UW creates a solid presence up and down I-5 in the PAC time zone. It creates 3 natural opponents instead of only one which in turn helps with travel on the kids. 9 games in conference is basically 3 west coast and 3 home and away for the rest of the B1G. Only 3 games away helps in the grand scheme of things. Now, add Stanford and Cal and its 5 games in the Pod and 2x2 for the rest. IMO, the B1G needs to strike while they have a chance. They can lock down THE MEGA conference title in one fell swoop. They can even call this Pod the 'PAC Pod'. I think I just 'V'erped in my mouth.
  22. I still don't see Oregon going to B1G. Even if Oregon played in a pod; USC, UCLA, UW, that would leave 3-4 noncons and 4 other B1G conference games. 3 home and 3 away. Thats a load of difficulty with travel. Also, Oregon's path to payday and NC's doesn't wreak nearly as much havoc with the kids if they stay within the PAC footprint. It is a bit easier as well.
  23. Mahomes may have a 10 year contract, but by the time JH's contract is up JH will renew for $325 for 5 years. And this will all be before Maholmes resigns for an extension.
  24. My initial knee jerk reaction is I'm not buying it. Sure, revenue would get split up into more pieces, but the revenue in aggregate will increase with more teams. One might say it could be a wash or even a net positive. However, the REAL payday is getting to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Are you scared of SDSU or SMU? I'm not. I would love to know the truth behind this rumor. What is Oregon truly thinking? Either way, we see the playoffs for 2024 with this squad.
