Jared Curtis flips from UGA!
Vanderbilt is RiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiCH!!!!! One should expect them to be upper echelon for the foreseeable future. This Industry is getting flattened out just like the NFL. We may see a few teams at the top in blocks of 2-3 years but it’s going to be anybody in the top 15 can win it all. We might be there already.

Rags to Riches - FINALLY, for Dante Moore
The offensive fire power is notably elite for next year. RB's and receivers are nearly fully coming back. The O-line looks amazing. The D back field is almost entirely coming back The D line is questionable. Next year schedule is a bit tough though. 11-1 next year as well but QB play will be better!

Jonathan Smith Taking a Cool 33 Million With Him Someplace...
Ridiculous!!! Here's the record of (M)is(S)ed U since 2016. '16-3 wins, '17-9 wins, '18-7 wins, '19-6 wins, '20 3 for 7 due to Covid, '21-10 wins, '22-5 wins, '23-4 wins, '24-5 wins, '25-4 wins. 29 wins in 7 years before JS. That's barely 6 wins per year. That's been the standard of Missed U football. Nothing has changed...yet. Did JS get NIL money to help him with getting above average players? (This is a rant)- If you don't bring NIL money you won't make the playoffs...period! You may not even become bowl eligible. Want proof? Look at the top 12 teams right now for the playoffs. The average roster payout is north of $20 million every year! What does this tell us? There is a natural evening out of the have and have nots since NIL took hold. It's not done either. Probably another 4-5 years to see who can consistently fund their own NIL. MSU has received a heavy donation of $50 million but its pennies compared to Oregon's well healed boots. PSU, The little o, and Mitch-again aren't going anywhere. Absolutely absurd MSU got rid of JS after 3 years. MSU standard is NOT 10 wins, it's barely 6. He's been basically par for the course and, IMO, was actually building to become more consistently a bowl team. He needs a minute to install all his own players. Takes 4-5 years. Don't make me tell you what I really think.

College Football Rankings: Updated NCAA Top 25 Polls after Texas A&M, Michigan Losses in Week 14
Bizarre!!! While I do not want Oregon in the top 4, oddly enough, it would give them a full 4 weeks till next game. Last year felt like Oregon was a little full of themselves, this year they look like grizzled men in a harsh winter. The scars and bruises have weakened them a bit but taught them to endure such hardships and find ways to accomplish their goal. A la Ohio State last year. 4 weeks would give them a beautiful amount of time to heal up and get the game plan in order as well. Making it only a 3 game journey ain’t half bad either right? Quack!!

New Milestone Reached by Dan Lanning Today....
Matched Kelly’s record without an innovative offense that revolutionized NCAA football. Lanning did it with substandard players compared to today and got his team to buy into cultural. Who doesn’t want to run through a brick wall for their coach? On that note, I find it more of a hurdle what Lanning did.

Great Defensive Game for Oregon...But the Offense?
A ton of passes were NOT on the mark. But, let’s reflect on what Oregon DOESNT have. 3-4 O-lineman, 3-5 receivers. Sure we got a bit of o line back but it’s not the same. I don’t think we have an offense problem, I think we have a continuity problem due to health. Now, watch them rev up with 3 weeks off to recoup. Indiana and Oregon are the teams to beat IMO.

A 24-Team Playoff?
Absolute garbage IMO. However, NIL was the support needed for a realistic expanded playoff. It has leveled the playing field. The top 4 has quality but who looks unbeatable? Nobody. Before NIL, we had some clarify cut top echelon teams by years end. Now those teams lose so many players from year to year as well as teams can’t horde every 5* for the last 5 years. This has made teams more even with personnel. Personally, 16 is enough. .750 record is a quality team. .666 team has no business in the playoffs. That’s just plain mediocrity. But, we will go to 24 or 48 or 96. So, tell me, what will the season look like if you have a 5 game post season? Thaaaaaats a-laaaahhhttt!

It's UGLY: Candidates for Oregon State HC Keep Dropping-In-Droves
Maybe Jonathan Smith was more perceptive than we thought. He moved to a growing conference AND he got paid. Better than withering on the vine with players leaving en masse. He wouldn’t have been able to parley into a better gig if he would have stayed.

I'm Rooting For Ohio State...
Yes, we need to get healthy. First playoff game is the weekend of the 19th/20th. Those 3 weeks are enormously needed to get healthy as well as clean up route running and sharpen our defense even more. This is a setup for Oregon to crush their opponents clear to the Championship game.

Chip is Available
I might add that Sabans OC's were predominately young. The CFB landscape is littered with HC's with their roots as some kind of coach under Saban. Why? Why are they Head Coaches now? Why so many? IMO, it's due to their extremely high energy in recruiting and their ability to connect with players. Saban was the straw that stirred the drink but those coaches never slept with recruiting. Intense energy by a lot of those, now these, Coaches.

Chip is Available
Just a different perspective: I believe that Chip is still Chip. That Blur offense was brand new and used power football against themselves. By the time the 3rd quarter showed up, the entire team was gassed. You can't keep using this strategy now that the League (light) has changed as well. The second thing I think of with Chip is that he has little patience. That was fine when you had Industry changing innovation at your finger tips. People will put up with that so as long as you are winning. Today, these kids come to Oregon to WIN but also to connect with their coach. Chip, IMO, would not make much of a coordinator but possibly as a HC. Before you get all bothered by his stint with OSU, I refuse to put the (t) in there, that team was loaded with NFL talent that is highly self motivated. They were probably harder on themselves than Chip was. They didn't need to be coddled but probably kicked. So, NO, we don't need/want Chip. Thx for the memories Chipper, you were the greatest! Now, if Stein leaves, we need a like minded, high energy recruiter and motivator. It looks like our OC's need to be tedious and not necessarily innovative. We have the skill sets with recruits but need a surgeon dissecting defenses with personal strengths. I don't believe it's any more difficult than that. Getting that replacement, that is THAT driven is the Key! Just my Buffalo Nickle's worth

Sources: Big Ten Execs Pressing to Make $2.4 Billion Investment Deal — Without Michigan and USC if Needed
Just a money grab? Is there any true benefit outside of a cash infusion? $2.4 Billion only once? Thats only about $130 million. Tell me you can't get a bit more creative than negotiating a loan. Is there no end to the muddying of this sport?

Dante Moore Expected to Return for 2026 Season
Just some color to this topic. DM will not get a better chance to learn his trade within the Minors. If, I do mean IF, he is an NFL QB by the scouts then he should be way better educated within the minors and get paid for it. He just might turn into something very good/great.

Dante Moore Expected to Return for 2026 Season
Waiting one year could be the difference between a solid retirement contract to generational wealth. 2025 draft produced $70+ million for a top 4 draft pick. #16 was around $30 million. After all the finger dipping is done, 40% ends in your wallet. Still more than most of us will ever see. For comparison, Derrick Harmon was drafted #21 for $18 and $10 for a total of $28 million. Cam Ward was #1 for $49 and $32 for a total of around $81 million. B1111G difference from #1 to #21. If Dante isn't projected in the first 4 picks or so, and he projects to be a top pick in a weak 2027 QB class? Then I would wait for 2027 draft. There is a lot of ball left to play though. When that O-line finally gels then DM has a great chance to rise in the rankings. These last 4 games have a beautiful opportunity to put the finishing touch on this season. If DM plays beautifully through the end of the season, I would expect a declaration for the draft. A top 4/5 pick is a serious possibility. Just my thoughts.

Ducks Remain at No. 6 in Both AP & Coaches Polls...
It’s becoming ever more clear that rankings mean nothing. I believe it’s what the powers that be want in the end. Just grab the top 3 teams from each Power conference. Then grab the 4 highest ranked left overs for the ‘At Large’ spots and be done with it. Well represented and Anotre Lame team gets its shot as well.

Who Wins The Next CFB National Championship?
It wasn't long ago that your average team considered it a successful year if they played a New Years bowl game. This meant you were a contender in your conference and each game you held your breath because the air was relatively rare. To go 10-2 was a stellar year and 11-1 or better was euphoric to say the least. This is not the case anymore. Now? Lose one game and your school asks for your head. Lose two games and the media is writing stories about your HC's ability to retain his job. Lose 3 games in the same year? Buy out a $50 million contract. (4) but who's counting? Oregon State has a new coach mid-season, so does Oklahoma St., Penn St, Florida, Arkansas, UCLA, VA Tech, Colorado St, Alabama-Birmingham. Is Wisconsin next? Some of those teams needed it. But, mid-season? ....maybe. In my opinion we are seeing an overall change in expectation due to NIL. Schools, and their donors, are now allowed to drop serious money into their programs. One must ask, "If I donate $50 grand then shouldn't I get some return on my investments?" If the program receives 'Investments' that are north of $20 million then what's your expectation? Ohio St is rumored at $35 million. Texas Tech $28 million. A quick Google search revealed that 15-20 teams have 'Invested' in the neighborhood of $20 million and up. Why? Not to come in 2nd place. And yet 8 of them won't even make the playoffs. The reality is that over the last 25 years most of the teams that have won a NC are named LSU, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio St, and Clemson. We have some singles in there and of course they are mostly Blue Bloods. NIL has evened the field to be sure...Texas Tech anyone? Indiana is a darling of a story. Will they be a perennial power? If the NIL comes then they will demand it. And don't think for a second that Oregon won't (has already) drift(ed) into this thinking. It wasn't long ago that we all knew Oregon was punching above their weight. It wasn't until the last 2 full years we started seeing the difference. The results of the Cool school with the cash to flash has this team vying for a National Championship last year as well as this year. But, ask yourself, 'if Oregon was a 10-2 team 3 years in a row, how much howling would be going on? Would Lanning be on the Hot seat? This is the face of ALL college football now. 10-2 is not enough. It's playoffs, first, period. We all would rather have a playoff bid rather than a conference championship. Fair enough. But, would you fire your coach that got you there just last year because they had a poor showing this year. Possibly. Storied programs have little patience anymore. The investment is too great.

If Pac-12 Money Had Been Different....How Would You Feel About it NOW?
(Sigh)😔… I miss the PAC, but I respect playing tOSU and Michigan. I miss the regional rivalries, but I love playing in multiple storied stadiums. I hated the disrespect that nobody seemed to watch the PAC, now I’m one of them. Potential $30 million vs $100+ million come 2030? No brainer. Reaching retirement age and I was looking forward to traveling around the PAC to watch Oregon play. Would take probably 3-4 years overall, but it sounded like a great journey to start in retirement. Now??!!!! I get 17 teams AND it’s the BIG House, The Shoe, Happy(Not so) Valley White Out at Night, Rutgers/Maryland mainly for the 400 years of history around every corner plus the win, doing the HawkEye wave to the kids in the hospital that have a view of the game(Are You Kidding Me??!! Who wouldn’t want to do that??!!). My options have greatly improved. Besides, I still get to go to the Rose Bowl(garbage venue where you can’t see the field) and the Coliseum(Broke down venue). I like my new ‘PAC(k)….errrrr…B1G!!

All White Uniforms are Back for Rutgers
Oregon is not Penn St nor Wisconsin. Oregon is Oregon. They have adopted multiple unis. Its their tradition. Clothing for the fans isn't what the fans tend to do. Cant seem to get everyone on the same page in the stands so let's just focus on those Screaming Unis this week! Thats the coolest uniform combination I've ever seen. I truly hope that the numbers turn bold Mallard green when the light hits just right. Just....Cool!!!!

SEC is the deepest conference? Says who? They are getting exposed by WSU as average at best. Texas is average. Alabama and Mizz are playing an average game.

Ducks Have Championship Caliber Roster: Near the Top of 2025 Blue-Chip Ratio List
Oregon has just now entered rarified air with the highest percentage recruits in these past few recruiting cycles. #4 average percentage for 2024, #1 for 2025, and currently #1 for 2026. Everyone has their own rankings and some claim to be better, but the reality is Oregon is compiling a, top of the line, roster. It takes 3-4 years to bring it all together. An above average QB can win it all with a stellar line, a solid RB, an above average receiver or two and top tier line with everyone knowing how to block. Then have nearly equal 2nd string to back them up. It's lining up to be this year or next year. I'm going with next year. But, surprise me and make me a happy man come January!
