  1. Oregon was looking at a JC center who is 6'2" and 325 lbs., and apparently they love how he can MOVE. I recall the plays versus Arizona where Forsyth was out there on the edge blocking, and this center could do that. And with his low center-of-gravity and weight--he would be hard for Nose Tackles to Bull-Rush. And...I would like another quarterback, because we have gone through four in one season before. (2007) Perhaps a PWO at another school who wants to learn? Utah beat WSU in Pullman in a Thursday night game with a former walk-on QB, so they are out there.
  2. Interesting to see at the Mike (MLB) is Keith Brown, not Noah Sewell. It is interesting looking at the front seven on defense...some new names stepping in! Only 66 scholarship players available for the Holiday Bowl. It is assumed that some of these will leave after the Bowl Game. Who are YOUR candidates? Duck Depth Chart WEB.NMSU.EDU Keith Brown No. 21
  3. Up to No. 5, but to me--with very few offensive linemen available, and the Ducks got two of the best? Whew! 2023 Transfer Football Team Rankings 247SPORTS.COM In order to create the most comprehensive Team Recruiting Ranking without any notion of bias, 247Sports Team Recruiting Ranking is solely based on the 247Sports Composite Rating. I am not sure how much more active Oregon will be--thoughts?
  4. "Greatness and Weakness Emerge Early," so I'll pass. (And I would suggest Oregon State to do the same...) Thoughts?
  5. When they announce and sign: January 7: Jamari Johnson, 4-Star Tight End, (50/50 probability) February Signing: Duce Robinson, 5-Star Tight End, (Low probability) February Signing: Rodrick Pleasant, 4-Star Defensive Back, (50/50 probability) February Signing: Walker Lyons, 4-Star Tight End, (Just started recruiting) February Signing: Nyckoles Harbor, 5-Star Athlete, (Just started recruiting) Rodrick Pleasant
  6. Do what I did; click on the link in my first post of this thread, and look for each team and look at the number of four and five star players they have!
  7. Oregon has 14 of the 4/5-Star players, (Rivals) so add up the rest of conference and dividing by 11 equals an average of 3.3 each. Makes me SO SAD for the rest of the conference! I never said I was noble...
  8. C'mon....one more 4/5-Star player, and you break Cristobal's record for recruits for the first full year of work!
  9. Stunning to think how Cristobal was known for recruiting, and Coach Lanning just equaled Mario's first year in the number of 4/5-Star players. (14) And Lanning also exceeded the best year of any coach in the past--save Cristobal. And I think Lanning might break that highest amount record one day... So if Lanning can recruit like Cristobal AND coach...what will we get?
  10. We have already been told to expect more portal transfers out after Spring Football and some players see where they sit with the team.
  11. Now Hopkins at ScoopDuck has officially logged a flip to Oklahoma for Peyton Bowen. But we have quite a few others to pursue yet! (See first post in this thread) Ashton Porter
  12. Thank goodness Rob Mullens did not listen to Joey Harrington and his cabal... ESPN Names College Football's Worst Recruiting Class WWW.MSN.COM The 2023 college football recruiting cycle is wrapping up, as National Signing Day took place on Wednesday. While some of the usual suspects have the country's best classes, as Georgia... Cal is No. 92 on Rivals, and not a single 4/5-Star player among them. Whew!
  13. Below was posted by 47sgs... (thanks!) Oregon Ducks linebacker Noah Sewell declares for 2023 NFL Draft WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Sewell had 56 tackles with 5.5 for loss, including 1.5 sacks, an interception, fumble recovery and four pass breakups this season
  14. I understand, but I need a system of rating that is consistent for all coaches...and this is. What you describe is highly subjective, and while it is fun--he could make a different compelling case for his year I'm sure. (This was before the flood of recruits we have now, and those 14 in his first year were needed) But no biggie...
  15. He signed it, but has not transmitted it to Oregon by fax yet. Thus he could sign another school's LOI, send it in and it counts. First one received by the school...
  16. We are waiting for LOIs from: Peyton Bowen, 5-Star Safety (This one is "iffy") George Silvia, JC OL, (the best in JCs) and is fixing a paperwork snarl. Oregon's Targets Remaining: Do check my article about the record for a first-year coach recruiting, as all we need is ONE more 4/5-Star player to sign and Lanning breaks Cristobal's record!
  17. It is now official: with the signing of Blake Purchase this morning--Lanning now has 14 signed that are 4&5-Stars with Rivals. This ties the best ever first year recruiting class with Cristobal, and we still have a few targets remaining, and one more could break Cristobal's first year record. (I gotta go change my article!) Blake Purchase See this thread for the remaining LOIs the Ducks are waiting on, and remaining targets Oregon is still after. Just one more 4/5-Star player could break Cristobal's record!

  19. Yep, and they have no idea if we paid big NIL money or not. Heck, WE as fans don't know what was paid or not. Many of our fans claimed last year--if we lost a recruiting battle--it was due to being outbid by NIL. And none of us know the truth.
